Minzoku Bokumetsu

then Lucy has an aneurysm thinking about it "o shit"

The25th

Hey Lucy. How’s it going. Been a while.

Syl

strong candidate for best joyce panel of all time

Fart Captor

HOLY SHIT I'M DYING I HAVE ASCENDED, LMAO

Andrea Andrew

Lucy: I knew the moment you said you loved her smell.

William Lewis

Aw Damn it Willis, now I have to explain to my co-worker why I'm laughing out loud again... 🤣🤣🤣🤣

MrShoggoth

My exact reaction to sex talk as well, Lucy. You have my sympathies.

David M Willis

tomorrow's hovertext: my wife read this strip on demember 5 last year and i got the EXACT snort-choke-laugh i was aiming for, i was extremely pleased

AE Gonzalez

Creepy-Ass Joyce new Best Joyce.

Smoochie

Joyce really speedrunning the ‘inform every WOC that I am queer’ sidequest.

David M Willis

woulda reused it here but didn't want to telegraph the final panel for those reading this in their email

Jim Avery

Imma be real. Lucy looks injured by this information.

Harold

"Holy fuck, she really IS the bisexual version of me"

C

"She's like a bisexual version of me." Lucy said, not realizing that the Monkey's Paw began to curl.

Harold

On the other hand, it's nice that Joyce considers Lucy part of their friend group! (And also that Dorothy hasn't yet given up on counting everyone she mentioned as *still* part of it.)

Kelly (they-them)

Lucy has always said that Joyce was the bisexual version of her - how come she didn't run around like this after Jacob was inside of her?

5099 5618 v2.0

I am now certain Joyce will have a FetLife account by year's end (her time) if only so she'll have an ACTUAL ACCEPTABLE FORUM for these impulses

Harold

Nah. She just looks extremely squicked by it.

Astariel

Oh my god! Looks like Joyce found a level of friendship that's too much even for Lucy.

Uniquitous

Oof. Joyce. I'm happy for you love, truly I am. But fuck's sake. Get some basic decorum.

L2theBell

Oh, that’s a lot

Astariel

The lack of a period on Joyce's sentence in the last panel somehow makes it even creepier/funnier.

Logibear

The look of pure horror on Lucy's face...

Astariel

Amber's probably a bit too injured for it to be appropriate yet. Plus going to see Amber risks encountering Dina, and Becky might hear through the half-bath.

Harold

@Cristina Merritt: Actually, considering that Joyce still doesn't know about Amber's injuries, I'm a little surprised she didn't go to her first for another "Heeey, Amber buddy..." moment.

5099 5618 v2.0

@Kelly (they-them) My guess: she talked to Jacob about that impulse and he convinced her not to. Either that or she just talked to someone outside their friend group about it.

5099 5618 v2.0

@Uniquitous OPSEC! Everyone should have an appreciation / capacity for basic OPSEC.

Logibear

Also this kinda reads as an unconscious "We've isolated ourselves from the majority of people we're close to, lets start making it weird for the people we are tangential to as well"

KittyKai

Hey, now Joyce knows how Becky felt in her "HEY EVERYONE I'M A LESBIAN" moment! x3

Riley Aurelia

I wouldn't be too surprised if Lucy responded poorly to this considering she and Jacob are together now, and Joyce's past with Jacob was another example of her homewrecking

5099 5618 v2.0

Depicted: a Natural 1. The only way she could have scored lower would have been doing this with Joe. (Edit: Mrs. 5099 thinks Joe would have high-fived her. Also, that this is her version of gay panic, and Joe might have been a stabilizing influence in this kind of moment)

Uniquitous

Heh. I'm gonna channel Bubbles now and say that if your love life requires opsec, something has gone drastically wrong.

Logibear

There have been a few of those recently

Empress of Robots

THE BISEXUAL IS CALLING FROM INSIDE THE FRIEND GROUP!

Empress of Robots

(okay, like most of this friend group is varying degrees of gay at this point, but that's the joke that came into my head)

Empress of Robots

Lucy: I want to be more included in this friend group. The Monkey's Paw Curls...

GundamBradley

I would say Jennifer would probably be the one to tell, but like, she knows already that Joyce has had what she considers sex, even if now, yeah, it's gone further now. I love Joyce, but she is not beating the "very, very self-centered" charges right mow, which, yeah, that's always been a quirk of hers. If she's hung up on something, everything else falls to the wayside.

Empress of Robots

Why the phrase "sad boner" make my brain make the sad trombone/you lose sound effect from The Price is Right?

Annie

If you're going to be proud you gotta be loud!

5099 5618 v2.0

@Uniquitous IMHO: Nah. Getting a sense of what info needs shared widely, on a limited basis, or not at all is part of figuring out relationships in general (and also with one's partner(s), especially in early stages). Etiquette is crucial to diplomacy, and lacking an [ (appreciation of ) | (capacity for) ] it, wars can break out.

Logibear

Like 90% sure that Becky didn't tell anyone about her and Dina walking the dinosaur though. And if she did she better have said it was like "boom boom acka lacka lacka boom" *edit: lol they legit did and it was like they were announcing a child. Apologies for being wrong

Uniquitous

Gods below. Reluctantly I come around to the view that Joyce is a terrible choice of relationship partner. For all that she is an earnest and sincere person, she is also incredibly immature and selfish. Everything is about her and her journey. She's the main character and you're all subscribed to her newsletter.

The25th

Didn’t they tell everyone but Joyce?

Logibear

Agreed. But then again, I wouldn't wish 19 year old Logibear on anyone either (apologies to multiple exes)

DiDi-chan

Oh for fuck's sake, Joyce... I'm so horrified that all I could do is laugh.

Uniquitous

I hear that. You were terrible. (I kid. We all were.)

Smoochie

I wil fight the urge to make a paragraphs long comment on how much I agree with you—I will just say I agree. Bam.

Uniquitous

I mean, nobody cared, but at least no one was hurt.

5099 5618 v2.0

I still talk to my ex [1] from when I was 18-20 or so. Recently apologized for my insanity/nonsense from that time. She said not to worry about it, but I still have no idea how I convinced people to allow me to live through that time in my life... [1] - Happily married for 15 yrs or so with 4 kids and a whole lot of karate trophies, lately. They even invited me to their wedding, which was very nice of them.

Maude Reads Things

Joyce, do you EVER hang out with Lucy when Walky isn't around? I dunno if this counts. Good luck, Joyce.

Uniquitous

Okay yeah, but there's a difference between overshare and keeping it on the dl. Nobody needs to hear how Dorothy got the crook of her fingers just right, but that's a different matter from keeping the entire hookup a secret.

Logibear

That's really sweet :-) they sound like lovely people.

Uniquitous

Oh, word. Carry on then.

5099 5618 v2.0

@Uniquitous Agreed. Discretion is a detail-management skill, and those take time to learn. This is all developmentally appropriate for her, to be clear. It's good writing, it's just also mildly horrifying.

5099 5618 v2.0

@Logibear Some of the best I know :) [1] [1] - Although she did not prepare me for dealing with the exes in general. Breaking up sucked, but it was also kind of a relief because we realized we did enjoy hanging out as its own thing, afterward. I... later discovered this cannot be assumed of one's exes, but is more of a nice thing that might or might not happen.

Sajuuk-Khar

Me, yesterday: Why in the world would Lucy give even one shit that Dorothy and Joyce are having sex Joyce, today: I am going to *create* a circumstance where Lucy cannot fucking stand the fact that we are having sex Me: Why do I love you, you awful garbage blorbo. Why do you do nothing but hurt me. Lucy: MY BRAIN! MY POOR, INNOCENT BRAIN

Sajuuk-Khar

Lucy: I WISH IT HAD BEEN LONGER

Maude Reads Things

I was thinking about it and here are how I think Joyce and Dorothy are gonna shake out with the friend group. Joe: Joe will always be there for Joyce. No matter what. Dorothy remains to be seen but he'll probably at least try to be civil for Joyce's sake. Walky: They can probably get him back but that's gonna take time. Becky: I have to think they'll work things out with her eventually but not right now I don't think. Dina: Fat fucking chance. Not any time soon. Amber/AG: Never lost her. Sal: Probably doesn't care about this. May care it upset Walky but enough to involve herself in relationship drama? I think it's unlikely. Jennifer: Not truly mad at them, just feels the need to be a good friend to Walky right now. Danny: Mad at them probably but will they really care? Lucy: May not be fond of the cheating but I think she's unlikely to be too angry with them. Jacob: Same. Sarah: Mad at them but ultimately still loves Joyce and always will. Carla: Is not going to care at all. Ruth: Does not even give a teeny tiny fuck about this So, all in all, I think they're going to be pretty much okay.

Sajuuk-Khar

This is pretty much my analysis, except with today’s strip Lucy has a big asterisk that reads: “Horrified at Joyce’s insane, stupid doctrine re: sexual disclosure”

Sajuuk-Khar

God Joyce I love you but you’re the stupidest stupidest baby

Harold

@Empress of Robots: And Walky is the happy little yodeling dude falling over the cliff

5099 5618 v2.0

@S-K Lucy: (/inner monologue) ("That's not something I wanted to say until just now. HEY-YOOOOO")

Harold

@Logibear: One of my favorite DoA panels is Amber leaping five feet off the floor as Dina materializes behind her yelling, "BECKY AND I TOTES FUCKED THE SHIT OUT OF EACH OTHER"

Smoochie

Honestly if that’s the way it shakes out then there was zero consequences for any of this.

Calder Johnson

Yeah, like thats why I can cluck my tongue but never be that mad, because this is all too close to my own idiocy at that age.

Logibear

She's giving me vibes of that guy holding his head on the cover of Action Comics #1

tifani

Maybe not hurt emotionally but I do think Lucy is now mentally scarred forever.

Sajuuk-Khar

@BBCC: I will add that I think Becky will probably be one of the first to come back towards friendly with Dotty? I think she was very sincere that she doesn’t blame Dorothy and Dorothy’s genuine contrition is going to score big points with Dotty. Joyce will take longer to not be awkward as fuck, like, this is gonna hurt Becks the rest of the year and Joyce is gonna owe her unconditional support even if/when she makes terrible decisions like macking on Ruth, but Becky *will* come back. Dunno that they’ll ever be quite as close, though! Walky is gonna take *work* work. Especially if Joyce cares about that bridge being burnt, which I kind of doubt.

Calder Johnson

I personally think thats the crux of the joke - Joyce has found a level of of over-sharing that's too much even for Lucy, and it turns out that level is horrifying.

tifani

Lucy is barely a friend to Joyce. Their relationship was casual acquaintances at best prior to this. I feel like Lucy is being pulled into a similar position as Asma yesterday where she is going to have to teach Joyce a larger point about how weird she is being about this. Because at this point it needs to be said.

Kelly (they-them)

This reminds me of that bonus strip where Joyce was kind of weird when she ran into that art model at Taco Bell

Calder Johnson

Haha, like thats where I've been for a while - I love Joyce. I also DEEPLY empathize with her and her journey....but she's also being a maximum disaster right now.

tifani

Joyce have you considered that NO ONE wants to talk to you about sex with Dorothy except the one guy you seem to be directly avoiding having a discussion with who is waiting to talk to you? GO TALK TO JOE AND STOP BEING A WEIRD GREMLIN. She’s just running around talking to anyone and everyone who has next to no real stakes in this except for the one person who DOES. She’s still dragging her goddamn feet.

tifani

IF THIS BITCH (Joyce) DOESN’T GO TALK TO JOE ALREADY…like at this point she is actively avoiding it to the point where it’s making her act like kind of a freak? She’s being unsettlingly weird. I can’t be the only one thinking that. Like her desperation to tell anyone else is just her redirecting the anxious energy that comes with not talking to the person she knows she has to because it also means telling Dorothy what she kept from her?

darklion

This has the same energy as "I see dead people"

tifani

Literally the only person who would want this information and it would make sense for Joyce to be trying to talk to about this is Joe.

tifani

@5099: No Joe is absolutely the person she should be talking to right now. He is the person she is doing all this to avoid talking to right now because talking to him about this means talking to Dorothy about him. But logically it is time for that talk and she is not ready for that talk. So she is dressing up avoidance in “loud and proud” clothes. But they don’t fit!

Tessea

Dammit, Ceiling Joyce! At least find someone who might be interested in your love life. Give Amber some fanfic-fuel. Booster would eat this up. Tell Becky you finally understand why she was going around announcing that she's gay to everyone she could. Or maybe even go talk to JOE like you promised!

KittyKai

I can't help but empathize with Joyce, cause I very much know what it's like to want to put off a big conflicting decision for as long as goddamn possible, or just pretend it doesn't exist because that's way easier than having to go through the torture of thinking about it! Doesn't make it RIGHT of course, and both me AND Joyce need to learn to STOP PUTTING THIS SHIT OFF. So yeah, I feel Joyce adjkncdfuknb

tifani

Joyce is dodging the only conversation that matters — the poly talk follow-up. She doesn’t want to face Joe because she hurt him and would have to include Dorothy in the conversation and admit to her she still wants him. Deep down she’s not ready to say what she really wants: both. So she’s filling the silence with noise — bragging, oversharing, performing growth. It’s not progress; it’s avoidance dressed as confidence. She’s spiraling, and she can’t tell the difference between movement and freefall. Waving her arms in the air like someone falling out of a plane trying to fly about to hit the ground screaming. Forgetting the whole time they have a parachute on.

tifani

Oh my god Dorothy literally name dropped Joe. The opportunity was RIGHT THERE to say something about it organically Joyce. Also wild that Dorothy named these three specific people as still being in their friend group. From her pov they are GONE but this points to them as the people they are/were/are closest to?

tifani

I think she needs to talk to Joe fucking immediately, leave Becky alone for at least a day and avoid Amber’s room entirely because Dina is going to kill her.

Lazuli

joyce dont start a conversation like that, lucy just sat down

Gwen Sanger

IDK I think Dorothy has enough trust in all three of them to think they AREN'T gone for good from their lives.

Gwen Sanger

Why Dina? She's shown no sign of being mad at either Joyce nor Dorothy, and has straight-up acknowledged that Becky's problem is with Becky. Like yeah, they aren't gonna be able to hang out while Becky's feeling her feelings, but I can't see Dina holding any sort of grudge.

tifani

I think at this point she should be at least considering it. I know it’s not happening because story but Dorothy doesn’t know she’s in a webcomic and her recent behavior would fully justify all three of these people cutting her off permanently. And she needs to be aware her behavior carries that potentiality. So she doesn’t repeat similar thoughtlessness in the future. I mean she does seem to be less in denial about it than Joyce. So there’s that.

Ali Youngman

This is a spot on analysis. Bravo.

tifani

Dina’s relationship just ended five minutes ago and you can draw a straight line from Joyce/Dorothy to that happening whether deserved or not. You can be the most rational person in the world 99% of the time but a broken heart is a hell of a thing. We don’t know how she’s going to react.

tifani

I meant to make a joke about Joyce having to call in the b squad group of friends to talk to about this shit. Aka the casual acquaintances at best. Next up Roz!

tifani

Joyce’s face in panel 4 is unhinged. Our girl is coming apart at the seams.

Sajuuk-Khar

QueenOfSodor said this excellent thing about Dorothy where she is Dorothy Keener’s strongest soldier but will also be first in line to bully her for her dumb nonsense and JOYCE YOU DESERVE A SWIRLY

Sajuuk-Khar

Lucy just fuckin housing Joyce out the front door like she did with Billie when it was Time For Jacob Everyone in the area gives her a standing ovation

Sajuuk-Khar

Somewhere, Jacob turns bright red, has a nosebleed

Sajuuk-Khar

@Gwen: I take no pleasure in saying this, but yeah, like, Dina and Joyce’s budding friendship is fucking Dead On Arrival at this point, shit is burnt and the ground is salted Recall Becky’s wisdom in saying that Dina feels things almost more intensely than others, she just doesn’t show it And as much as she logically knows that Becky’s got the problem she loved Becky and it would destroy her to put all her anger towards Becky Joyce, though? Who Becky’s desire for ruined everything? There’s a perfect target. So yeah, the next time Joyce greets Dina she’s gonna get the “Don’t call me. Don’t come by my house. We’re DONE.” special

5099 5618 v2.0

@Tifani More that finding Joe and talking to him about what happened *like this* would be even weirder. Then again, I have no idea how she'd start that conversation, nor if she's at a point where she believes she can safely have it I agree, fwiw: she does need to find a way to finally talk to him about what's going on, and ASAP. I think she's dreading and avoiding it because she can't imagine a path to success with him and Dorothy, but yeah

Sajuuk-Khar

Lucy: Really? Right in front of my Robin/Beast Boy yaoi?

Shane Wegner

In Walky’s case, any _additional_ gloating. As some gloats were already gloated.

JHB

Hey, Lucy. You're on TMI duty today.

Katrina Marie Paton

Could it be that Joyce has already decided against the whole polyamory thing and so has no intention of ever bringing it up with Dorothy?

Tessea

Oh definitely. I'm just pointing out better choices than _Lucy_ having dinner. :D

MrShoggoth

holy shit, you’re right.

2026-10-28 05:00 I might regret saying this, but I might not, too. So I'll just say it: Now that Asma's gone for the moment, feelings seem to have calmed down about her. The comments field got really, really ugly there for a while. Super ugly. Therefore, it's time to point out that yelling at people, and swearing angrily at them, makes them LESS likely to listen to you. They're much more likely to listen to you, and end up agreeing with you, if you just explain why you disagree. It's the difference between saying "You gotta admit that I've got a point, right?" and saying "You gotta admit that you're a stupid piece of shit, right?" The first one, people might agree with. The second one, they never will, because you're setting yourself up as their enemy. The ONLY way to convince people is not to make yourself their enemy. I'm not saying, to use an extremely extreme example, that black people need to be super friendly towards any KKK members they might happen upon. That would be a ridiculous thing to claim. What I'm saying is that every time I've managed to convince my... differently politically aligned... family members that I have a point, it's because I didn't position myself as their enemy, but as somebody who just wants to explain why he sees things a different way than they do. Then, they actually listen. (One relative once thanked me for explaining why I disagreed, instead of just yelling at him right away.) I'm not saying you can't disagree with people. What I'm saying is, disagree with them in a way that *works*, and that makes the comment field a better place for everyone. Otherwise, you risk becoming like that particular kind of proselytizing Christian who's more about making themselves feel good than about actually converting people. (I've had my share.) Because the reason I stick to this comments field is because the regular site gets so unpleasant, and I wished I could have at least *one* place where we don't see each other as enemies that must be attacked, but as people discussing a comic we like. (And yes, I'm aware that some discussions, like of Asma's Muslim faith, also apply to the real world in some ways.) Thank you. Now that I've had my say, you're allowed to agree. Or to disagree. But if you're going to disagree, please ask yourself if you really do disagree with the ideas that you should be addressed in a way that isn't actively hostile or aggressive, and that you should try to argue your opinion in a way that works instead of one that always fails. P.S. I just realized that tons of people will think I'm addressing them specifically. I'm not. I can't even keep track of who said what, and I don't intend to return to the dumpster fire to find out, honestly.

Yue Ryong

Even if she has decided against it (which she is allowed to do without talking to Dorothy), then she should take that as a reminder to go finish the talk with Joe. That's the sensible & ethical output of the black box that is her decision... so instead, she's pretending she doesn't have to make any decisions. Like how I STILL haven't moved on from Windows 10. Because the future is scary & there's a lot of choices that can blow up in people's face.

Dmitri0240

Yeah; the people who insist that this must end all of their friendships seem to have a very unrealistic view of friendship. In the adult world, situations where a shortterm relationship ends a few hours after a new relationship began happen all of the time. Viewed through a strict good-bad binary, it's bad. But it's driving-8mph-over-the-speed-limit-bad, or didn't-report-some-supplementary-income-on-taxes-bad, not drunk-driving-bad or murder-bad. It's a big deal now because it *just* happened. In less than a week, things will start to mend. In a month, everyone will have moved on to more interesting things to care about. And in a year (especially if Joyce and Dorothy are still happily together), people will honestly struggle to remember that it happened at all.

SomeKindaNerd

I honestly don't understand why people were so incensed at Asma either. Like, her issue wasn't with them being queer and openly kissing each other. None of her criticisms or issues stem from her religion. Her issue was with the timing and the lack of responsibility with which they did it. The fact they were hurting so many of their friends and, I'm sure, the fact they kinda distracted from the purpose of the protest. Asma and Sarah are probably thinking the same things about Joyce and Dorothy: "Glad they're together and happy, but I feel sorry for all the friends they've hurt carelessly."

tifani

Tifani here. I had a facelift.

Rob McBobson

I, too, have changed my name once, but it was a legal change (for reasons nobody here will be able to guess, I promise you) and the end result wasn't quite as unconventional as yours. :) Didn't want to show your real name and face online anymore? I can get that.

tifani

I am THRILLED you thought Britt Lower from Severance was my real face.

tifani

Well I do think I have a certain Hellyesque energy

tifani

I think it’s just a nasty reality that has to be accepted that Asma’s overt Muslim presentation was a major factor for some people’s discomfort. They heard someone being perfectly reasonable but they didn’t like the looks of the messenger so they twisted her words and accused her of robbing focus by doing nothing but existing in the comic. It’s a nasty reminder of the real world slipping in. It’s not pleasant to admit, but xenophobia remains real, even when people convince themselves their discomfort is about something else.

Rob McBobson

@Katrina: It seems unlikely that Joyce would want to hide the fact that she knows that she wants to date Dorothy and nobody but Dorothy from Dorothy, though. You'd think that kind of thing would be happy news for Dorothy to hear; that Joyce doesn't only want to date her, she also actively doesn't want to date any non-Dorothy individual.

KittyKai

Joyce is the most loveable idiot of all the times xP

tifani

If Joyce only wanted to date Dorothy Willis would not be dragging this out. You really think he’s going to take months of effort to have the answer be she wants to be monogamous with Dorothy? He could have answered that weeks ago and saved his comments section from basically starting a civil war. Her weird energy screams deflection but what is she trying to hide from if everything is what it looks like on the surface? If everyone who needs to know things knows everything they need to know? Joe is the only dangling plot thread and at this point it is beyond noticeable that Joyce is putting off talking to him. And if all she had to say to him was I pick Dorothy she could make time for that. There’d be nothing to clarify with Dorothy. But if what she actually knows is that she does want to keep him and Dorothy then that means she has to have a way harder conversation with both of them. That also risks losing one or both of them. If she picks just Dorothy she loses Joe. If she fights to keep Joe she might lose Dorothy. The conflict only exists if the answer is she wants both of them and inside she is going to war with herself about it. The person she desperately wants to talk to is Joe with Dorothy but she can’t so we get her terrifying Lucy instead.

Maude Reads Things

@ Smoochie - I don't think that's really true. Needing to fix things with people they care about and not being able to do that for a long time is a realistic consequence. I never thought the people I thought would be mad or upset would be mad forever - mostly because forever is a very long time in DOA land. @ Sajuuk - Yeah, I think it'll be easier to come around to Dorothy eventually when all the feels shake out. Walky? Yeah, that's gonna be hard. I do think Joyce will care eventually though. She's very good at acting like she hates him but when the chips are down, she wants Walky in her life. He was one of the people she wanted when everything was shit when she and Becky went to visit home in the aftermath of the first Toedad attack after all.Right now she's acting like this is just her winning their stupid, childish rivalry because that lets her not feel guilty. @ Gwen - Because Joyce and Dorothy hurt Becky. She's upset at Becky too but at the end of the day, that's enough for her to be pissed at them. @ Dmitri0240 - I do think this is more serious than just a 'finding someone you like better than a short term relationship and then waiting til the next day/a few hours later to dump them' generally is because Joe and Walky aren't randos. They were good friends beforehand and Dorothy told Walky she loved him (in their first relationship but still). They were also friends with a bunch of Joyce and Dorothy's friends. That's going to hurt them more and therefore possibly anger/upset their mutual friends more. Now I never thought it would end all these relationships altogether but I do think some of them are going to be angry/upset with Joyce and Dorothy if only because Willis described this as blowing up the comic.

Bored now.

Huh. Y'know I was considering Lucy when I was wondering what the next brown woman to be dragged into this would be, but I thought it was too unlikely

zee

Probably not, that's a weird chekovs gun to never fire

Empress of Robots

Honestly, the more I think about it I think Lucy is going to fucking love this hot goss. Lucy: so you mean to tell me a week after I dumped Walky and 5 days after he rebounded with Dorothy, Dorothy dumped him for you? Joyce: ….yes? Lucy: Delicious.

People need to think of this couple and storyline less in terms of how real people work, more in terms of writing conventions. There needs to be consequences bc an action causes a reaction. The heros do a big dramatic thing that logically should make waves but everyone's chill and happy with it is a boring story. Concepts aren't introduced for nothing. Putting poly on the table just for Joyce to decide against it is kinda boring. Looks more like covering all your bases for real world reaction

I hope Lucy brags about getting railed by Jacob. Even things out

zee

Or she talked to someone in her friend group in like. A normal way. Or even an inappropriate way that was just. Less than Joyce. Like squeeing at Billie before realizing she might not be in the mood for that

Longer like jacobs- *gets drop kicked from orbit*

"Hey Jacob, just had a chat with Joyce before. You wouldn't believe what she's been up to"

It took me a bit to recognize that Joyce's outfit is from one of the preview panels that was kinda confusing because it wasn't on a full character model... Looking thoroughly at the preview panels is a dire endeavor, it's like reading a prophecy... You can predict bits and pieces of where the story is going to go scene from scene but it's only ever enough to form an incomplete narrative and one that can change in ways you wouldn't expect. My own prediction for where this narrative was going is long dead, my theory early this year before Everything was that Dorothy would come to terms with being bi but at the time be unable to be with Joyce and ultimately bond with Becky over this ending the faux rivals bit for good and becoming genuinely good friends... Parts of it came true and parts still despite everything could come to fruition... Two parts of the prophecy have yet to happen and i wait with now growing anxiety to see them come to pass.

Actually it would seem the panel i'm thinking of ISN'T set for this scene at all! It's an entirely different scene where Joyce happens to be wearing this exact same shirt? Mysterious!
