1. Comparing with the preceding strips, Jennifer does move a bit to our left to make room for Dorothy... 2. ...but she doesn't leave. 3. Dorothy's kiss is entirely out of the established-relationship playbook, just as were Asher's greeting kisses to Jennifer beck when they were a thing. 4. Dorothy doesn't greet Jennifer. Not a serious violation of protocol, but it's a tiny bit odd for Dorothy. 5. Those smiles in the beat panel tell a lot, but I'm not going to put down a thousand words trying to equal the picture. 6. In the last panel, natural Dorothy has turned to fake-smile Dorothy as Joyce (forefinger!) puts her on exhibit—but Joyce's smile is a continuation of her natural ebullience in the preceding strips.
