Your point is well taken, especially since you're commenting on a strip where a character calls another character "comic relief" in a genre-savvy move. Yet we must accept that our author is firmly rooted in humor and will likely always let Funny Rule. Drama is an honored guest in this strip and gets a lot of space (and even a special tag in its Other Continuity), but it feels like David Willis has clear the set of comedy in order to execute drama. The current thread was all drama until the author had a cop not investigate Fuckface's cage and then sprang the Billie/Jennifer-thinks-Sal-is-Amazi-Girl running gag to defuse the dread. If the current strip is comic relief, then maybe the drama will ramp back up soon.
