The scene I hadn't realized I desperately needed (Dina & Joe)

Logibear

I have been dying for this interaction!

Maude Reads Things

Yeaaaahhhhh, her bestie's room is awkward at the moment so Joe is probably a better choice

Laura

jakey only surfaces as supporting character to sapphic drama, as it should be

C

Honestly, they might be the best people to talk to one another for now (since those who still need to converse with them are dragging their feet).

jafortee

It’s important to me that “Dream Joe and Dream Dina” are banned from the monthly bonus strip

Sajuuk-Khar

Oh! Oh! I know who this is! I remember! THIS is EGLAMORE!

Andrea Andrew

Two kindred spirits who question the status of their relationships with two queer idiots.

Laura

jimmy james!

Astariel

Looking forward to this conversation. The way the Dina/Joe friendship has developed has been really good to see. I hope they can help each other out.

Harold

@jafortee: Well, NOW you've gone and guaranteed what at least one of the next bonus strips is going to be, so thanks for that, friend

C.T. Phipps

Dina: You are like a T-Rex that I think the raptors should have beaten in the finale of the movie.

Dan Rabin

Nice visual structure, with the similar first and last panels bracketing a strict alternation of Dina and Joe speaking in solo shots. The alternation lets the artist put Dina and Joe's heads at the same level as Joe and Dina elliptically share an emotional basis in loss of romance. But Dina's hand gesture and posture indicate that she has a request to make of Joe, and the mix of framing in the strip perhaps reflects her simultaneous views of Joe as a friend and as a physically large, looming presence (upon whom she has climbed).

Logibear

"Joe... have you ever worried that your partner considered you to be a silver medal? And that if something major happened to them that they would drop you in a heartbeat leaving you completely in the lurch because of their horrendous communication skills?" "... did we have the exact same fucking day or something?"

JC

I think Dina and Joe would be a great couple. They seem to respect each other, which is a good start. Joe’s really been moving away from his former lecherous self and acting more like a compassionate human. With Dina a little lost right now, she could use friendly company. I could see Dina maybe hanging around him and Joe really feeding of Dina’s vibe. It’s a bit of a long shot, but at least it doesn’t hinge on interdimensiosional travel or talking cars. Hmmm, maybe that’s where this is all leading. ; )

Dan Rabin

They're already making good friends, which is hard enough. If they want to decorate that with something added, they're as welcome to do so as were Joyce and Dorothy, I guess.

Tessea

.... Well at least _SOMEONE_ went to talk to Joe!! I'm so glad Dina's seeking advice.

Vivian

One REEEAAL Freaky Dream, coming soon to Slipshine

George Simpson

So first, you climbed on me like a raptor scaling its prey...

Logibear

"Sexually, I would through the process of trial and error, meticulously evaluate his response to each and every stimulus, resulting in either ruining sex through tedium or leaving him a twitching mess doomed to long for my thoroughness. For I am not sure I could sustain interest in his body beyond that process" - A Dumbing of Age Pornographique

Packy Anderson

I could never imagine Dina using the phrase "silver medal" to refer to herself. She is not a coin made of precious metal.

Gale Tazzin

tomorrow: "Joe, you choose to remain with your partner as she consummates her relationship with another? In the parlance of the internet, as I have just learned, this makes you a 'cuck'"

Sabrina

I had that dream too!

joe mcguire

🎶silver medal friends🎶 reconciling that their partners chose them as an acceptable alternative when they couldn’t get with who they wanted and struggling with what that means for their self worth 🎶silver medal friends🎶

Girlycore

In my head this went to the tune of Primadonna Girl by Marina and the Diamonds

Girlycore

It's okay, you're safe. Suggestions are usually a single person, so even if one of them won the monthly bonus strip it would just be like... Dina hunting cereal dinosaurs and eating them while pointing out how inaccurate they are, or Joe's nightmare about his Do List being leaked but instead of women's names and info every entry is just Danny as a woman rated 10/10.

CoreyWW

Dina’s talking to some fan OC or something

CoreyWW

But on a more serious note, considering the bonus strip when we last saw Joe, I’m glad he (ahem) finished doing what he was doing before Dina showed up, that’s just good for everybody

Harrison Fuller

I’m glad Dina and Joe are still friends.

5099 5618 v2.0

Dina: "Hey, Joe. Don't make it bad. Take a sad song and make it better." Joe: "Remember to let her into your heart. Then you can start to make it better."

Mitzi B.

Joe suffers from "saying exactly one sentence too many" disease, I see

Paul McCubbrey

I really love the relationship these two have developed slowly over time this semester.

Empress of Robots

For a moment, I thought the floral pattern on Joe's shirt represented the only dry spots on his shirt after his vigil in last month's bonus strip and my brain scream OH NO

Lea

Jimmy James!!!

Lea

Dan: I legitimately look forward to seeing your analysis of the visuals of each strip; almost always notice something new AND better understand visual media. Thank you for sharing!

jafortee

Actually, this will be fine as long as Willis flips it to a Pacific Rim reference.

Andrea Andrew

He might be adhd or a little autistic too. Nothing wrong with that.

Andrea Andrew

Joe: Hey, Becky. Hey, Joyce. Dina wants to have a one night stand with me. Would you be okay with that?

Logibear

Its getting custom made. Might take a couple of weeks.

Alexandra Falk

I really do appreciate that we're seeing demonstrations of Joe's character. Let's hope... that my feelings are not quickly dashed.
