1. The borderless panels are Sarah before/after Dina's repetition of "his mother". 2. Dina keeping her hands in the pockets of this garment is not new with this strip, but it's an excellent bit of continuity that maintains her distinction as a character (especially as she navigates the Tall People today :-) ) . It's a nice quiet detail of comic-craft. 3. Panel 5 slices Sarah's smile in half to combine her emotion and her motion towards Beck wing into one panel; she's offscreen and well on her way in the last panel. 4. Both Karen and Sarah are wearing pull-over tops with knit collars today. Coincidence? Dina wins the Prix des Collarbones today! 5. The camera followed Dina in yesterday's strip, and stays with her today. If the next strip isn't a new scene, it will probably involve Dina.

Sarah's been firmly Team Joyce-Is-Wrong. When Joyce was with Joe, she disapproved and explicitly advocated for her to get with Dorothy instead. Then when it actually happened, she disapproved and explicitly advocated that Joyce (the recovering fundamentalist who was now identifying as gay) get back with Joe.

It’s really sweet that Dina is sort of slowly forming her own friend group as opposed to just tagging along with others or interacting with Joyce and Becky’s friends. …Ah, hell. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but *maybe* Dina needs to stay broken up with Becky for a while and have her own adventures with Joe and Sarah for a bit. She needs a chance to be her own person for a bit and get back together with Becky on her own terms.
