Small screen-size Carla is a very comics-resourceful way of showing that the moral considerations of her situation are getting through to her like nothing else has in the entire time we've known her. She's even skating with little steps, not her usual outta-my-way long strokes. As a whole, the strip is a triptych: two panels of Becky being practical with Leslie, two of the Amazing Shrinking Carla, and a final two of Charlie for the humorous wrap-up. Four women, three locations, one strip.

As someone who moderates a forum, let me tell you what's going on over there is in no way authoritarian compared to some stuff I've seen. In fact, in this case I would have banned that person months ago. If all one can do is complain about someone else's work, one should not be reading the work, you know?

I don't know details, as I don't do the main site comments either, but apparently it go so out of hand it spilled over into The Willis' Bsky account. That's where I saw it. Not a member there so I posted here. The gist is that a person who has spent every single day of the last year commenting that they hate the comic apparently got banned.

@Tessea: The American Civil Liberties Union. It's a nonprofit that's been defending civil rights since 1920.

American Civil Liberties Union- basically an advocacy group that helps people in this exact situation. They provide legal assistance in civil liberties cases- you see them show up a lot in issues where there's governmental suppression, separation of church and state cases, free speech cases, that kind of thing. @Shane - this is what I am struggling with. Leslie standing her ground and refusing to use resources from Ruttech and staying the course with her morals, but also with Ruttech being partially responsible for the situation, having their resources used to address the problem - possibly without their direct control or knowledge (via Carla using her privilege) - would bring some level of karmic balance, perhaps.

It's exhausting how people will treat a space that's not theirs and they're not entitled to in any sense. Like moderating a discord server where aasholes demand the exact wording of the rule they broke. Like, dude, this isn't a place with legally binding terms and conditions that bad actors like you can lawyer-weasel your way around, you got kicked out for being an asshole. Is ejecting a drunk jackass from the house party authoritarian now?
