Wonderful reaction, Kat, as always! (I upped my membership just to watch your full reaction to this, since it's one of my favorites!) And yeah, you gotta love the Hollywoodness of a bus suddenly leaping vertically across a gap! Hey, it's a movie, I'll buy it (and I love that it happens at the midpoint of the film -- it's the literal middle gap of the movie!). Besides, it's so much fun I don't care -- the script is fabulous and the characters are wonderful. Joss Whedon did a full rewrite on it and actually sued for co-credit, which he got on some movie posters, but then he lost the WGA case, so Graham Yost got sole credit. But Whedon always claims that every line of dialogue in the movie was his, which would explain the humor of it. (Although Yost also did great work later on, on Justified, so who knows?) Meanwhile, I remember seeing it in the theater and thinking it was a new Keanu -- his best performance up to that point -- he's very cool, accomplished, the "Surfer-speak" is toned way down, and he handles the stunts and firearms superbly. He was always an underrated actor but this was really where I felt like we saw him become a star. And it showcased his physicality so well -- as with The Matrix and John Wick series later to follow, this really demonstrates the physical grace of movement and action that have become his trademark. I agree with you about Sandra and her charm factor -- she always manages to inject this easy sense of sweetness and humor into her characters (please tell me you've seen "While You Were Sleeping," because she is so adorable in that she's practically stratospheric). And she can still bring the drama -- I also absolutely love "28 Days," a terrific little dramedy, or "The Lost City" (if you need a laugh, it's fantastic and so well done), or "The Net," a fun early thriller. And I just love her with Keanu -- they have great chemistry here, and also did later on in "The Lake House" (it's not earth-shattering, but it's lovely and poignant). Jeff Daniels was also so good as Jack's partner, and that final expression when he sees the bomb light is so sad. He knows exactly what's about to happen. Dennis Hopper is okay in this for me -- he's a little cackly-villain for my tastes, but lots of fun , and I loved seeing Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller) and Joe Morton (T2) also. Thanks for the fun reaction!

Sorry KAT , but I cannot for some reason. Finish the rest of speed. I have no idea why it keeps freezing on 39 minutes, almost 40 minutes. And then it just stops. I have no idea what's wrong with my phone I just want you to know I think highly of you and it was really awesome that I'm the only one that screams out loud at the whole scenario on the beginning of the Bus problem, and then it just doesn't want me to finish it for some reason.Maybe my phone just hates me
