The movie you were thinking of is Apollo 13 😁

Hey I don't know if this is just my player acting up but at 33:05 there is an issue with your recording skipping a few seconds, I think it happened in the Firefly reaction as well.

Wow, I was just doing the math and if Kat drops 1 episode consistently every Sunday, it’ll be February 27, 2028 before we get to the first full length x-files movie! That’s crazy when you think about it! So many episodes! But I am beyond excited for this full journey!! 😎

From 9:40 to 9:45 on this video it skips for me, even if I reload the page. A few other places too, including at 33:05.

Ok, scratch that, I missed a Sunday and then good old Google said there were only 20 episodes in Season 8 but there are 21. So the first movie would land on February 13, 2028. The second movie would be October 7, 2029 and the full series completion would be January 27, 2030. Still incredible to think about though!

Howdy do Kat. Loving your X-Files reviews. Maybe consider viewing David Duchovny/Brad Pitt film ''Kalifornia'' released in 1993. Somehow I missed this particular Episode Loved this one a bunch. Thank you, I am glad you are enjoying classic Sci-Fi TV.

Confirmed for me, too!

This is probably one of my least favorite episodes, not sure why it doesn’t hit well for me. Enjoyed your reaction, though! Definitely giving me something to look forward to every Sunday (and Saturday too, with Firefly!), which I really need right now. 💕 thank you for sharing

A great reaction. This episode was especially scary, which is great. I'm very glad that you're doing these x-files episodes, which are always great.

I don't think Scully is buying it. That shadow ghost creature thing could have been anything! Probably just a weather balloon.

"Houston, we have a problem," is from the movie Apollo 13 (1995), Great movie. I also love that every episode is different. That is one of the things I always loved about the Twilight Zone episodes; they were always different, with a 25-minute run time. What is your favorite episode so far?

Agent Dana Scully loves living in denial

Ah this is one of those episodes that I still remember very well. You do know that the "Face of Mars" is real - right? Freaky... :D

It's real in the sense that that photo is authentic, but it's just pareidolia. They took a better image in 2001, it doesn't look anything like a face.

If you believe that NASA didn't purposefully fudge the 2001 and subsequent images. (I kid, but.... there's a lot of weird stuff about Mars. For a while the planet was considered gently 'cursed' because a lot of the probe missions sent there (by the US and other agencies) in the 1980-90s went awry. And NASA was notoriously dismissive of the Face for decades, to the point where it took several petitions from the general public to cajole NASA into including a re-imaging of the Cydonia area (where the Face is) to the Mars Global Surveyor's mission, and even that was begrudgingly added years into the mission. You'd think NASA would jump at the opportunity to (A) disprove a nagging question of pareidolia or (B) examine anything with even a hint of alien about it, but instead they fought it for decades. There's an old joke amongst astronauts that NASA stands for "Never A Straight Answer"....) Also, the fate of Col. Marcus Aurelius Belt in this episode is similar to the real-life death of US Secretary of Defense James Forrestal. In conspiracy theory lore, Forrestal was supposed to have been heavily involved with Roswell and the US government's secret response to it, which supposedly contributed to his very public resignation in 1949 and treatment for depression and other mental health issues. Forrestal is reported to have jumped out of a window in the hospital he was being treated in, though the conspiracy theory lore has (shall we say) different interpretations of his death.

Mr. Skeptic, Mulder, is a total fanboy of NASA in this episode. Not one suspicion that any of the NASA stuff might be fake despite all the real evidence. This is Hollywood's way of trying to program their audience with acceptable conspiracy theories (UFOs, Aliens) and non-acceptable conspiracies (moon landing hoaxes) by using our hero, Mulder, as the voice of reason.
