Dawn Marie: Who? George Clooney? Yeah, he was ok... 😄 Next up: "Each Dawn I Die" 😁 And the P-word is worse than the C-word?? Again, only D.M.! 😆

Bartleby

The guy who played the roles of Border Guard, the Titty Twister Door Guy, and then the contact Clooney meets up with at the end who arranged the meeting there, that’s Cheech Marin. He’s half of one of the most legendary comedy duo’s of all time, Cheech & Chong. These guys are the originators of the cult classic stoner comedy!!! Definitely worth the look into their comedy movies. Their first was Cheech and Chongs’s Up in Smoke (1978)

Louis Marzullo

Marin. He would not have survived Sgt. Hartmann's 12-week course for the phony tough & the crazy brave 😔

Dag Einar Bergli

"Psychos do not explode when sunlight hits them, I don't give a fuck how crazy they are."

Jimmy Walker

My reaction the first time I watched this movie was. Gas station part "OK this could be a good movie". Then was "what and why am I wasting my time watching this movie" during the RV part. Then it turned into "I have to tell all my friends to watch this movie" after the vampires showed up.

Ragnar Miersch

Another enjoyable evening spent with my favorite Scottish pixie. I make notes like Miss Dawn does, as well, but not about the movies, about the things she says and does so I can comment on them. Then I remember that doing so would possibly spoil the video for some of my fellow Patrons, so I just make them for myself, and I laugh and laugh and laugh. Shame you folks don't get to read them, some are real "bangers".

JL Green

I will never forget the time I saw this movie. My (now) ex wanted to go with me because it was a midnight showing and she wanted to be sure that was where I was actually going. 25 minutes into the film she was holding her head in her hands saying I feel like I died and went to Hell 🤣😅😂

Louis Marzullo

🤣 Haha! Just like you felt every time she checked up on you (I have 2 in my ex-files of that ilk!). That was some good karma, right there!

Louis Marzullo

Have you seen the Jay Pharaoh/Kerry Washington SNL video "What Does My Girl Say?" I put it in "Funnies" on Discord or you can find it on YouTube if you don't Discord.

Louis Marzullo

Thank you, Ragnar, that's very kind (not sure about the self-discipline part, though 😄). We've got quite a few "uniques" in this community. The "Dawn Effect". Or as an old classmate of mine used to say, "Water always seeks its own level". Btw, beautiful new pic! Hope you are feeling as good as you look! ☮️

Some more housekeeping: The dad, Jacob, was indeed Harvey Keitel, Dawn. You are on an H.K. run! Mr. Wolf the fixer in Pulp Fiction, Mr. White in Reservoir Dogs and... Matthew/Sport the pimp in Taxi Driver (maybe you blocked that role from your mind). More primo Keitel: Mean Streets (even younger Harvey & DeNiro than Taxi Driver), Red Dragon (although kinda miscast, imo, but still a good thriller), Thelma & Louise (supporting role, could be a Marmite movie for you) and... Bad Lieutenant, which is as Harvey Keitel as he can get!

Bartleby

This kind of movie may seem shocking and new to you Dawn, but remember that the “Horror” genre is massive. With dozens (if not hundreds) of subgenres that you haven’t seen. You’ve only watched a tiny handful of only the most mainstream and well known horror movies for a few weeks out of one month of the year. There are independent horror filmmakers who both Robert Rodriguez and Quinten Tarantino are majorly influenced by and borrow from. You’ve never seen a Sam Raimi film Dawn. And Tarantino has spoken extensively on the significance and influence of Raimi’s early films. Most notably “Evil Dead” 1 and 2 Even The Coen Brothers, the directors of “No Country for Old Men” and “Raising Arizona”, were heavily influenced by Sam Raimi. They worked as assistants for Sam Raimi on his early independent horror films, “Evil Dead” I realized watching the reaction Dawn that you had never really seen this kind of horror movie. This trashy, fun kind of horror movie. Even Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson made these kinds of ridiculous ultra violent horror films when he started out as an independent filmmaker. There are many filmmakers and horror movies that From Dusk Till Dawn takes influence from. The crazy cult classic horror films have their place too Dawn.

Louis Marzullo

I heard Uma Thurman got very jealous over that foot fellatio scene... or maybe very relieved it wasn't her 😄

Bartleby

I’m thinking relieved is more like it. LOL I’m sure Uma Thurman wasn’t jealous she didn’t get MegaMind Tarantino suck on her toes. This was a case of Tarantino the writer helping Tarantino the actor. If any actor in a Tarantino written film is going to be sucking on a beautiful woman’s toes, it’s going to be Tarantino!!!!

Louis Marzullo

I think he did that in Pulp Fiction, too. Writing "Dorks. They look like a couple of dorks" to say to Jackson & Travolta because they looked close enough like the 2 guys who used to stuff him into his locker & yell "DORK!!" at him.

rude alf mcglesga

have heard George Clooney speak his mind in various video,s...do not like that guy at all,...over hyped shitball...can't watch, sorry

john ruddick

The soundtrack is special. As is the opening sequence.

john ruddick

Dawn your dark sense of humor is perfect for appreciation of this great fun film. George's tattoo is the best ever!!!

john ruddick

Now you can watch "El Mariachi" and it's sequels.

Louis Marzullo

Last one: The water they used against the vampires was an effective weapon because Jacob had regained his faith & blessed it.

Robert Nelson

Dawn, surely you have seen Ocean's 11? Stars G. Clooney, B. Pitt, M. Damen amongst others. If you haven't seen Ocean's 11, ITS A MUST SEE. (Including the two sequels.)

Mark Crawford

When I saw it back in the day, I always felt this one was a bit low effort as regards Tarantino's script. Sure, there are some nice scenes, especially the opening, but the remainder felt like the script was written in a couple of afternoons... But I love the fact that you vibed with it and found it so funny - another really fun reaction!

Louis Marzullo

Blue Collar- you really dropped the mic with that one, Mark! Outstanding film & Dawn's never really seen anything like it, from that perspective. "Norma Rae" might be a good companion piece.

Mark Crawford

And, hey, if you're doing all the Tarantino movies, did someone tell you to skip Four Rooms (which is from the year before From Dusk Till Dawn)...? Cos if they did, they're wrong! Don't listen to the haters, Four Rooms may not be best movie ever, but it's not terrible!

Bartleby

Explain to Dawn that the water became holy water when blessed by the preacher. Though I’m not sure whatever denomination of Protestantism he was supposed to be has the ability to do that.

Louis Marzullo

Haha, I think you just did... Church of Tarantino. He must have grown up Roman Catholic but maybe Jacob is Episcopalian. I'm not sure any of the other mainline Protestant branches use holy water but it would be an interesting thing to look up. I'll check it out. Or if someone else wants to weigh in!

Louis Marzullo

Ok, apparently Lutheran which makes sense as their liturgy is closest to R.C. of main Protestant churches, not counting Episcopal/Anglican (Church of England).
