I was just getting ready to go to sleep and then Jen posts this horror classic. Well looks like it’s gonna be another late night for me 😂🔥

spacious_recroom

Crap! I was hoping that I would be asleep before you posted this tonight. Well, I guess it looks like it's going to be another late night. 😉

Geoff S.

I felt sorry for you when I saw this movie got picked. I knew it would freak you out. The baboon reaction from the woman was real too.

Barry Hammock

The first one has always been enough for me.

Curran Dobbs

Moral of the movie is "Always do a background check on the help."

Andrew Roach

I do enjoy the two sequels making this a trilogy. They remade this movie and released it on June 6, 2006... 666. Clever.

Charles Chavez

I thought I saw a baby like that once but when I looked over from above, I saw it was just 999 so nothing to worry about :D

Banes

oh man...do I wanna watch this before bed? I remember that amazing music from the beginning, the choral stuff. So creepy right from the beginning. Okay...gonna try...no nightmares no nightmares...

Harvey Lee

That was Jack Nicholson in One Flew over the Cuckoo's nest Gregory Peck was in To Kill a Mocking bird which did star the actor who played Admiral Cartwright .

Harvey Lee

That infamous score still sends chills down my spine 😲 70's horror still stands the test of time I recall watching this as a young lad no wonder i turned out like this lol !

Harvey Lee

999 is the emergency number in England so obviously you were in good hands in case anything demonic happens to you there. 😆

Charles Chavez

That's funny. I forgot about that. I actually stole that from an old SNL bit about the baby and everyone just saying oh, it's really just 999 because they were looking at the baby upside down haha. I think the name of the clip even had a title card called the OintMENt lol. This was back in the 80s and I was kid when I saw it but will never forget that hahaha.

Charles Chavez

The ending of the 3rd is a major goose bump moment

Vina

The title score is so iconic and spooky, it gives me chills every time

Julian San

My guy, David Warner not playing a bad guy for a change 😂

I love this movie. I've been watching it since I was technically far to young. Stand-out performances from Patrick Troughton and David Warner and an amazing score from Jerry Goldsmith. It's also a masterpiece of editing. For the baboon enclosure scene they sedated the alpha male and put him on the back seat of the car to get the troop to react the way they did, unfortunately he woke up and freaked out, attacking Lee Remick. So the screaming from her and the kid that played Damien was real. In the graveyard scene they had to crop carefully because someone of the dogs got a little excited and started humping each other. Plus great use of the then newly built Guildford Cathedral. A very striking building. There was a documentary on one of the DVD trilogy releases where they talk about how a lot of things went wrong during production, leading to the rumour it was cursed. Even if it doesn't make sense that the British policeman was carrying a gun. You can overlook that easily as it's such an intense moment until you really think about it. Omen II & III are also great, it's really a trilogy. There was an Omen IV, but it's a TV movie, IIRC it wasn't awful, but it was nowhere near the calibre of the trilogy. There's also a remake of this movie from 2006. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it has a great cast. But I personally I think it's overshadowed by the original.

Geoff S.

Jen, you just saw the photographer, David Warner, in the original Tron. Damien's real mother was a jackal.

Lee R.

Yep, and he was also the Cardassian who tortured Picard.

Noremac

I'm looking forward to the eventual viewing of Rosemary's Baby. It's my favorite of the 70s devil movies. And the mother of Damien is a jackal.

John Mcleod

Damien: Omen 2 and The Final Conflict are great sequels, especially 2. Omen 4 was made for tv and to be avoided at all costs. The remake was unnecessary but The First Omen was an effective prequel horror movie except for a few liberties taken that make no sense.

Geoff S.

I forgot about that! He’s also hysterical in The Man With Two Brains with Steve Martin.

Sorry Jen, when i voted for this i knew it'd scare you. I love the sequels too, especially Omen 2. The original Omen is my 16th favourite movie, but Omen 2 i love even more it's my third favourite movie after Halloween and Pulp Fiction. I certainly recommend you watch the sequels. I also recommend the new prequel The First Omen that was released last year.

jon bolton

I agree certainly about 2. Personally i'm one of the few people that really loves Omen 4.

Darryl Low

Hi Jen. I've been enjoying your Youtube videos for a couple of months now, especially your movie and Seinfeld reactions. They are so much fun to watch. Being a movie music fan, especially Jerry Goldsmith like yourself, when I saw you were watching The Omen I just had to take the plunge and join your Patreon so I could watch your whole reaction, and it was amazing. I had to laugh when you said "The End" twice in the first 10 minutes 😅 What I love about Jerry's scores is that even stripped of the visuals, his music still tells you the story of the movie. Omen 2 and 3 are definitely worth watching, and Jerry worked on them too. Anyway I just wanted to say thanks for all your awesome reactions. They definitely bring a lot of joy. I'm looking forward to watching more here on Patreon, and I'm excited to watch The Birds with you later on 😊

jon bolton

My favourite bit of trivia about David Warner, he kept his prosthetic head from this film for years until his ex wife got it in their divorce settlement😂

Opti_Frog

This movie brought 666 into the popular consciousness and ruined the name Damien forever. 😄

TigerMyth

That wasn't the same priest from the night of the birth. The crazy priest played the 2nd Doctor in Doctor Who. Score is so important to movies. The remake of The Omen with great actors and big budget isn't remotely as good and that is because of the score.

Jen Murray

Ohh I thought the emerg number in England was 0118 999 881 999 119 7253 😂

Jason Scade

He's a somewhat sympathetic character in Cross Of Iron (1977). Legendary director Sam Peckinpah's only war movie. WWII drama/action. Set on the Eastern Front (German forces vs. Russian forces).

TigerMyth

those were not good boys. lol.

Bryan Tuck

The sequels are pretty meh (though Goldsmith's scores are stellar as usual). However, the recent prequel "The First Omen" is quite good. It retcons a couple of elements, but it's a very effective horror movie in and of itself. Also - fun bit of trivia: Richard Donner was an experienced director of episodic television and a number of TV movies, but (I think) this was his first theatrical feature film. And it was the success of The Omen that brought him to the attention of the Salkinds, who hired him to direct Superman.

Code Monkey

One wonders, might this all have been avoided had they chose a name other than Damien??? 🤔

Ian

Hey buddy nice to see you've joined Jen's pretty damn amazing I'm biased ofc but truth is truth 🙂

Jason Scade

Solid reaction, Jen! Well done, you braved the psychological horrors and very oppressive Jerry Goldsmith score admirably. I think this will do pretty well on YT for you. 9:20 A wooden dawg! 12:20 "A dawg!" No, Jen. Not this one. 51:10 The scene with corridors, the balcony "accident" and the camera following Damien around on his tricycle made me think of similar scenes in Kubrick's 'The Shining'. I wonder if Donner influenced Kubrick on those Shining sequences. 1:37:44 "Frig you, Oscar winning score, you're so scary!" 😅 * I'd recommend 'Omen II: Damien', it's a decent sequel with some memorable scenes. I've always remembered a particular classroom scene in it, with a teacher pitting himself against the cursed child (now adolescent). I know you've already 8 million requests 😃👍 - running and editing times for all current film & TV requests on your Patreon member film request page, combined with YT comment requests not yet added to 'Jen's Movie Request Site', estimated date for completion; 2107 A.D. (around 10pm, EST) 🥳🎉🥂 - but shout out for the Richard Donner cut of Superman II. And the recently released docufilm on Christopher Reeve, 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story' (2024). R.I.P. Mr. Reeve 🌹 You'll always be my Superman. ♥ Get well soon, Jen! Lots of veggie superfoods and fluids. 💜🙏 * Shout out for an awesome Jerry Goldsmith score to a classic 1970s pulp fiction thriller about wanted war criminals and plans for global domination; 'The Boys From Brazil' (1978) "If they survive, will we?" (W)-->94 (C)-->65 (D)--> 42 ---- 2.5 = H Starring Gregory Peck, Laurence Olivier, and James Mason. Check out this magnificent effort. I hear little touches of Star Trek scores in it, here and there. The last time you saw David Warner, the one you said "he looks familiar" about, he was asking Jean Luc Picard how many lights there were.

Jay

Great reaction. I first saw The Omen II on TV and was really hooked. Later I saw this one. Both are quite good, the third was not quite as good, but it completed the trilogy.

Clay F

Skip the sequels. The sequels are each an absolute disgrace. Horrible. Not entertaining.

Darryl Low

Hey Ian. Good to see you again. Yeah I've been enjoying watching Jen's videos. There's so much great content and her reactions are a lot of fun 😊

Bill the CAT

Omen II (1978) and Omen III (1981) complete the original trilogy. Please put them on your list!

Over50Gamer

If you want a good dark comedy along the same theme, I recommend the "Good Omens" British miniseries starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant. Premise: what if the Antichrist went to a different family other than the one intended?

JPDotCom23

The mother was a jackal. 'Damien: Omen II' was just ok, 'The Final Conflict', which is the third in this series, is not worth checking out. Gregory Peck was famous for his role as Atticus Finch in the classic 'To Kill a Mockinbird', he also played the original Sam Bowden in the original 1962 movie 'Cape Fear', returning as lawyer Lee Heller, who represented Robert DeNiro's Max Cady. Peck also starred in 'MacArthur' and 'The Boys from Brazil'. His final movie was a tv movie version of 'Moby Dick'.
