Second place in the Poll last week and this one was sooooo charming!! The chemistry between Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau was so fun and I loved Anne-Margaret too! It was a snowy, curmudgeony good time and got me in the mood for the holidays! Anyone want to check out the sequel?

Yessss can't wait!! "You mean the low-life, ass-wipe, egg-sucker John Gustafson?" 🤣🤣

Rob Nichols

For more of Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau check out The Odd Couple from 1968. Anne-Margaret was in one of the Matt Helm spy spoof movies starring Dean Martin.

Mario Serra

Absolutely please watch the sequel to this movie!

ioma

Never seen this movie and didn't know there was a sequel but looking at the thumbnail I'd say yes to watching the sequel, your heart is warmed is the vibe in getting from the wonderful thumbnail

Yes, please check out the sequel, it's just as charming. If you are up to it, check out their original pairing from 1968 in Neil Simon's 'The Odd Couple'. They are very good dramatic actors too, Jack Nichoson's best came opposite Al Pacino in 'Glengarry Glen Ross' (1992)

This has such a stacked cast. Lemmon and Matthau have done half a dozen movies together, and always have great chemistry (except for "Buddy Buddy". That one's a dog. Not their fault though.) Ann-Margret did "Viva Las Vegas" with Elvis (they also dated), "Bye Bye Birdie", "Tommy", and "Murderer's Row" with Dean Martin. Burgess Meredith (the dirty old man) is probably best remembered for his role as Mickey in the "Rocky" movies, Darryl Hannah for "Splash" with Tom Hanks and "Blade Runner" with Harrison Ford, and Kevin Pollack for "A Few Good Men" and "The Usual Suspects". Ossie Davis as Chuck probably did his best work on Broadway and behind the camera, though he was also in "Jungle Fever" and the original 1994 version of "The Stand" miniseries. I also have to agree that the sequel is well worth a watch; it manages to capture the same magic, and the entire cast returns to reprise their roles. Fun stuff. :)

I relate to this movie more and more every day.

But the odd couple 2 is by far funnier than 1, my gf and I have watched it several times an imo the BEST wm and jm and if she doesn’t see it, may never understand what genuine elder ship is

The sequel is a must. I highly recommend it. A few other Matthau/Lemmon duo movies I'd also recommend are: -The Odd Couple (1968) -The Odd Couple II (1998) -Out To Sea (1997)

Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau starred together as leads in these movies: The Fortune Cookie (1966) The Odd Couple (1968) The Front Page (1974) Buddy Buddy (1981) Grumpy Old Men (1993) Grumpier Old Men (1995) Out to Sea (1997) The Odd Couple II (1998)

Almost like an "Odd couple"....well wait until you watch The Odd Couple

Great reaction! And yes, you should definitely watch the sequel.

The sequel is exactly what you’d want it to be

Sequel worth it

Burgess Meredith was also The Penguin in the spoofy Batman series back in the 60s. I still hear that voice every time he speaks, lol......Besides starring on Broadway, Ossie Davis and his wife of 50+ years Ruby Dee were major stars and pioneers of many black films in the 40s-60s.

Skip the sequel. If you want more Lemon/Matthau, I suggest The Odd Couple (1968).
