Oh my goodness this one was so much fun! Freaking shrunken adventures inside the human body?! Yes please! Loved the cast, especially Martin Short and loved the music too! I heard this is a sort-of remake of Fantastic Voyage (1966) and now I'm dying to see it -- anyone wanna check it out?

By all means check out "Fantastic Voyage", same director as "Soylent Green" if that's of any interest. Although the effects may now be a little dated compared to "Innerspace", but you may still enjoy it.

Rob Nichols

Yes to Fantastic Voyage! I suggested seeing it before Innerspace, but no big deal really.

Geoff S.

Yes! You seem to like those classic sci fi movies. FV is a great and fun watch.

Rob Nichols

The effects were incredible for the time, and still look good today. Music score by Leonard Rosenman, who also did Star Trek IV The Voyage Home.

Darryl Low

Awesome stuff Jen. Really looking forward to watching this movie with you. Another Joe Dante / Jerry Goldsmith collab ticked off haha. This is a fun one ☺

Lemurian Jones

Fantastic Voyage is great, corny sci-fi fun.

Jason Scade

Every voyage with you is a fantastic journey. ☂️💜

Christian Rennie

I do love this movie. Martin Short's brand of comedy does tickle me. Another one I like is "Captain Ron" with Short and Kurt Russel.

Geoff S.

And again if she ever watches Legend with Tom Cruise.

Randy Aiken

I think Jen needs a vacation. She should go on a Fantastic Voyage!

Brian's Dog

Joe Dante fan club reporting in!

Mr. Writhms

Another zanny, nutty comedy like this one is "What's Up Doc?" (1972)

Opti_Frog

I will never again love Innerspace like i did as a kid, but i still think it's fun.

Zapp Rowsdower

I haven't seen Innerspace in so many years, so it should be fun. This was where I first heard of Dennis Quaid. He was great in the space sci-fi film, "Enemy Mine". The year before Innerspace had Martin Short, Steve Martin and Chevy Chase starring in "Three Amigos!". To me, that's the one my mind goes to when thinking of Martin Short in film.

Major Peril

Great reaction! Love Martin Short in his physical comedy roles. Yes, you should definitely check out Fantastic Voyage, great '60s sci-fi film. Similar concept but in a more serious "vein". 😆

Brian Moore

Such a fun movie! I grew up loving it and must have watched it a few dozen times as a kid. Even after several years of working in hospitals including the surgical department, the scenes from this movie pop in my head whenever I’m thinking of anatomy.

Rick Rodriguez

I adored this movie as a kid. Opened up my curiosity of how the human body worked. So it's fun, adventurous, AND educational! Can't wait to watch Jen's reaction.

RobertC

Fantastic Voyage: yes!

Thadman

Yes, Martin Short is in "Only Murders in the Building" and I also say "Yes!' to that because I do love that show. Where I first saw Martin Short was on SCTV, which was the starting point of John Candy, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin and Joe Flaherty (who were the two people sitting next to Jack in the doctor's office when Tuck first started talking to him), among others. No disrespect to the rest.

Darryl Low

Really enjoyed watching this movie again with you Jen. I always enjoy your moment of delight when Jerry's name comes up in the credits. Joe Dante's movies always have a fun and unique quality to them. The practical stuff in this movie is so good. There's 2 shots in the movie that I always look at and go wow because they are so clever. In the hotel room after Jack has transformed into the cowboy and is trying to calm Lydia down, it's all done in one shot. When Robert Picardo, who's playing Jack goes off camera, he does a quick change and runs around the set and gets into the bathtub as the cowboy! It's crazy haha The suitcase in the car boot at the end is also a set, filmed at a particular angle. The hands that open the case are closer to the camera and just making the movements to look like they are opening it. Filmmakers are so ingenious 😊 Gremlins 2 and The Burbs would be great to see your reaction to, and would love to watch Fantastic Voyage with you too. Thanks for another awesome movie reaction Jen 😊

The Fly

'Dreamscape' (1984) is another really cool 80s sci-fi starring Dennis Quaid

Harvey Lee

This is such a good choice , it's like an updated version of Fantastic Voyage Very funny of course that's to be expected with Martin Short Quaid and Ryan being great co stars As well This won the Oscar for Best visual effects that year . And well deserved .🤘 Can hardly wait to watch Jen's reaction.

Zapp Rowsdower

It really was fun. Moreso than I remembered when seeing it as a kid when I was too creeped out by the whole scenario to enjoy it. Martin Short is fantastic in everything. One thing though... the very Hollywood wedding scene at the end. First, we see the happy new couple exit the packed church, to be greeted by rice and cheers from apparently the rest of the guests who couldn't fit inside the church... then as they run to the limo, there are even more guests, just standing curbside. Gee, thanks for the invitation lol. On top of that, imagine inviting your new buddy's boss and co-worker. It's all I can think of now. 🤔💭😆

Stevtrek

Fantastic Voyage is great... it is a drama not a comedy. Really good effects for the era as well. One of my favorites.

The Fly

You mean...shrinkage?

Zapp Rowsdower

"Somebody help me! I'm possessed!!" 🤣 - Little fact, the two people sitting next to Martin Short in that waiting room scene are Joe Flaherty and Andrea Martin, two of his former castmates from The Second City and it's hugely underrated tv show SCTV.

HeWhoLooksSkyward

One thing I love about this movie is having both the Sam Cooke *and* Rod Stewart versions of "Twistin' the Night Away". :)

The Fly

SpaceCamp (1986) is a fun cheesy 80s sci-fi adventure. On your website with 26 votes currently

Rob Nichols

You artery be proud of that pun.

JPDotCom23

Martin Short and Nick Nolte in 'Three Fugitives' Martin Short and Danny Glover in 'Pure Luck'

David Brown

Yes, I would love to see you watch Fantastic Voyage (1966).

Jonas

I can't believe you saw Robert Picardo first as The Cowboy. He's a Star Trek alum.

Jason Scade

Great 80s film, it has aged so well! Fab reaction, lots of fun! We both loved it, she knows the film backwards. :D Goldsmith score aside, did you enjoy the Sam Cooke soundtrack? :) Recommendations; The dystopian sci-fi / action / drama 'Upgrade' (2018) has similarities to Innerspace. A man has an ultra advanced super-computer A.I. system integrated into his brain, giving him Neo like reflexes. It's outstanding and bone-crunching. 10/10. It's on the movie reqeust site already, if anyone wants to see a clip, here's the YT link. [Spoiler clip, also an official upload] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZxn9md_aZI For further hilarious Martin Short, 'The Three Amigos' (1986) is very good. Also stars Steve Martin and Chevy Chase. Western / comedy. The Outlaw Josie Wales is seminal 70s Eastwood western. Probably his best Western after Unforgiven.

Jessie Caldwell

You should watch The Three Amigos, great film with Martin Short
