I can do this all day! I finally got to see Captain America's backstory and the origin of his shield and I loved it! So cool to go back to the 40's and see him start out as such a sweet underdog before he became an ultra buff super soldier. Can't wait to see what happens now that he's in present day. The Avengers coming soon and I'm pumped!!!

Movie Runtime: 2:04:11

Jen's spoiling us with all the uploads 🙂 might have to save this one until the weekend 👍🔥 hope you're having a wonderful day Jen

Awesome Jen. look forward to watching this movie with you tonight 😊 Definitely my favourite of the MCU movies. So many great sequences, and Alan Silvestri delivers the musical goods again. Love the time period and all it's details, and Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell are amazing together. I loved the spin off show Agent Carter with Hayley as well 😊

Harvey Lee

Great choice , my day is better already , saving this for later love the era , the design and the music. plus the lovely Hayley Atwell whom I met in person one time. Have a good one Jen 🤘♥️

Jeez, Jen. You work harder than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest. You're cranking out the videos, and all are top-tier quality.

Curran Dobbs

The present expedition at the beginning who found the shield were the ones who found him, frozen at the crash site. Great reaction, btw.

Jeremy V.

This is so exciting watching it right now bravo, Cuz!

The thing in Tony's chest is an "Arc Reactor" a device that generates power from a core element (part of the IM2 is about him finding a new core element that isn't toxic.) The power is used to create a magnetic field that keeps shrapnel out of Tony's heart and powers his suits. The item in this movie is the Tesseract, an item from Odin's treasure chest that he keeps on Earth/Midgard (I'm not sure if it's ever made clear why this is) here it's used by a rebel branch of WWII (fascists) called Hydra that has their own goal for world domination to use it to create powerful weapons. The Tesseract has deeper meaning in the MCU that you don't know yet. Steve was found in present day (well, 2011) in the crash preserved by his enhancements and cryostasis. (Revealed by the melting of Arctic ice due to Global Warming.) (Everything said here you have gotten from the movies you've seen, but knowing the comic backgrounds and pieces of the other movies makes these things clearer.) Presumably, Captain America's powers are at the very, maximum, limit of what a human being is capable of with the shrug of what those limits are in a fictional universe. He isn't "super," just very, very, close. In real world theoretics a Tesseract is a cube in four spatial dimensions.

Staying up late today to see how much Jen will love this one! 2nd Captain America is even better, and one of the MCU's best.

Sitting to watch this now. 😃🛡 That's some Wonder Woman-esque locks you're sporting!

Director Joe Johnston began his career by studying mechanical engineering, which got him a job doing design work on the original Star Wars. He did production design for the visual effects, and drew storyboards. He did several films for Lucasfilm but eventually lost interest and resigned. George Lucas saw potential in Joe as a film maker and offered to pay for him to go to film school. Joe took the offer, which lead to him directing Honey I Shrunk The Kids as his first film. He also directed The Rocketeer and Jurassic Park 3.

zynjams

there is a TV show on Disney plus called Agent Carter. its really good

Noremac

This was directed by the same guy who made The Rocketeer. The two movies have very similar feels, don't they?

When I think Alan Silvestri, I'll always think of Back to the Future. Anyway, this is my favorite MCU movie up to this point.

Major Peril

HAIL HYDRA! 😃 Yes, that’s Hugo Weaving as Johann Schmidt (Red Skull) who played Elrond in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies. He also played in The Matrix movies and V for Vendetta (2005) among others. Always plays a great character. I too think Joe Johnston did a great job directing this one and I definitely got a vibe, at least in the first half of the film, similar to The Rocketeer (1991). Love that vintage look and feel.

Jack O

If you count the stars on Cap's costume, he's actually Captain Puerto Rico.

Jason Scade

Fab reaction! And a solid MCU entry. Tesseract-stoked for The Avengers. 35:40 "Maybe he'll have a super-bladder as well." 😅 1:47:00 The Cap jumps on the grenade for NYC. ♥ :') The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) has similarities to the 2nd half of Captain America, i.e. WWII action, a critical suicide mission by a tiny elite Allied squad, into the heart of Nazi Germany. Awesome action, fab cast!

Over50Gamer

"Puedo hacer esto todo el día." 😂

I wanted to point that out about the Tesseract. Yep, the theory goes that if we can circumvent the normal three dimensions of space, using a fourth dimension, one would be able to travel anywhere in the universe instantly. I guess the irony is that Schmidt (Red Skull) was using it for power, but it has an even greater use that backfired on him 😉

Brian Straight

That part doesn't make a lot of sense give what's in the Tesseract and what it controls. (Can't say much more than that so as to not spoil the role it plays later on, but power/energy is controlled by something else.)

Brian Straight

Met her at a con a few years back. Amazing in person.

NYG316

Yup, the beginning of the movie is when they found Captain America. He was in a frozen hibernation for 70yrs.

rubberkidney

i remember right before this came out trying to convince a bunch of ironman heads how awesome cap is but they didnt believe me!!

JPDotCom23

So can't wait for 'The Avengers', very happy I saw this in theatres. just a quick heads up, the post credit scene was shot after the World premiere in Los Angeles in April 2012.

Mastervodo

Watch Jen Murray reactions? I can do this all day!

RebRox65

I you're interested in what happened next from this movie, I would recommend the TV show AGENT CARTER, it follow what Peggy dose after the plane crash. I this it's underrated as a marvel show.
