So proud of us that no one spoiled this episode

Crawlingchaos03

doesn't matter how many times I watch this episode. It still brings many tears to my eyes 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. Sadly, the girl didn't make it. That's why her mother ended her existence. Silk had nothing left that mattered anymore. I believe the two are together again and are in a much kinder world now.

Andy McNuggies

It doesn't show it in the anime, but in the manga, it shows Acro-Silky and her daughter reuniting. Holding hands and ascending together to "a kind world". Hopefully that gives some comfort

Lyn

This was really heavy for anybody watching it, good job going through it

Freitag

Great reaction and I think you understand now why Dandadan is so highly praised, its one of the few shows that have great action. silly comedy - a amazing love story and have episodes like this that takes a page from DEINJI"S book and just kick you straight in the nuts and nothing but nuts.... But the show is so good at balancing all these things. and I have not seen a lot of shows that can balance heavy topics like this and make you laugh at someone loosing their fucking weewee on another episode... wtf lol.

JohnKoffey

Ah, the pisode that makes everyone cry. Gonna need some crying faces on the model I guess lol!

(As an anime-only person) The thugs in that scene are implied to be loan sharks whom she owed money to. But she took some of the money she owed them to buy her daughter the dress, meaning she didn't have 100% of their money when they came to get it. They took her daughter to make up the missing money.

i had to take a break before recording the next oof

Any time I start watching this episode I say to myself "I will not cry this time. I am strong" then by the end I'm grabbing tissues. This episode is incredible and heartbreaking and I immediately went and hugged my mom after I watched it the first time

And here's the first big emotional low of this rollercoaster of a series. As someone who's followed the manga release since it's 20th chapter release the story only speeds up and gets wilder from here. I really love this mangaka's ability to run the whole range of human emotion and not make any of it feel cheap or un-earned. The animation studio also really went above and beyond when adapting it.

I got the same reaction like the 6 episode were either funny or have some good fight scenes but this episode was so dark and sad that changed everything from this show and I'm glad they didn't cover the manga version of this episode otherwise wooo we would see a lot of people buy a box of tissues for both the mom and her daughter death at the same time

13:27 - That's something I hate about some shows, especially the ones that drag things out. You spend all that time getting to that point, then they do a flashback on a character to try and drum up cheap sympathy before that character is gone for good anyway. I am thinking mostly of One Piece, which before I got tired of it seemed like the king of using flashbacks as storytelling.

Neila Reacts~

oh uhhh well i do like when they do flashbacks since we wont be seeing the character agains after they die so it s pretty obvious to give the viewer some closure and why the character is the way they are.

Neila Reacts~

fr tho, i wasnt expecting it at all. it was like it slapped me with the dark themes but i did enjoy the way they introduced it in the anime!

Neila Reacts~

i dont think anyone can watch this episode without clenching their chest or crying a bit so no worries!

wiski

For me it depends on the context, but most of the time when I see it it's in shows that already drag things on too long and it just feels like filler on a character I don't even care about. Not all shows mind you, but too often I see a flashback starting and my brain starts checking out or I reach for the skip button. (I think it is mostly with One Piece though, that show seems to be 50% flashback)

NotFunny

I almost cried and wanted to but it was hard looking at how scary she was

Slothful Sins

No matter how many times I see someone react to this episode, I cry every time. Also I don't want to comment on the child's fate.

Chromemissile

This episode always hits you right in the heart and it come out of no where but makes it no less impactful

Urf

whoever is chopping onions, stop it

Ahmed El Fakih

The silence this episode feels heavy...

Why the unnecessary one piece slander it is true that the anime has some pacing issues, but the story itself is great. Flashbacks are important for good characters and the flashbacks make the current situations way more impactful. It’s fine if you want something more fast paced with a less in dept story/ characters but don’t call it cheap. And also unless they die no character is gone for good in one piece. If a character is developed they are almost always are or are going to be important.
