Yeah, the Empire seems to have a habit of basically saying "I don't like this noble lets cut off his head", and this time, it just so happened to save them from being turned into a bunch of scattered ruins in the desert, and a cautionary tale.

At the end, it was flashback (memory) from time of episode 6. In episode 6, we see Ainz in the empire as he is leaving from Fluder, before we pivot to Arche and her team. So it was real Ainz. The reason Jercniv did not kneel when Demi ordered him to is because he has a magic item that protects against mind control.

TBF, Ainz defeated Shalltear due to the information disparity and using tricks... I know Shalltear didnt remember the fight, but I have to imagine she was filled in by the others and in order to be the best guardian she can be she likely tried to learn from the mistakes after learning of them... In most cases, Ainz should lose pretty hard to Shalltear in a straight 1v1. I am pretty sure he said as much to Albedo before he went to fight Shalltear, and Cocytus even said that Ainz had like 30ish percent chance of winning. Shalltear dummy stronk. :D
