Twohearts Off

It's unclear why this horn made a much bigger army than the first one, it might be because it was just a better horn (when she got arrested in the big city they did say it was a really powerful artifact, but they can't really gauge the power of Ains artifact in the first place). Personally I like to think that the difference in the army comes from the fact that Enri was just a random peasant when she used the first one (hence summoning a few mercenaries) and is now the chief of a whole village with a lot of authority and respect from her troops and villagers. Enri seems to have a "ruler" ability since she can command over others with her voice, so maybe the village and everything made her "level up" her "ruler class" and made summonings more powerful.

The Force

Not ever explained in the show so I'll explain it here: Enri's strength is that she's essentially gained the "Commander" class/"General" class from leading the other goblins for so long. Her "Voice" powers aren't like magic she can order on people they just empower people who follow her orders, so it works like a buff on her allies. In Yggdrasil (the game Nazarick and the Horn of the Goblin General are from) there were many MANY hidden features and effects to abilities, skills, items, and so on. The game was supposedly huge on keeping secret features to yourself/your guild to take advantage of. Essentially because the horn is *supposed* to be a trash item you get as part of a gacha, no one ever experimented enough to figure out that it had a hidden feature to summon a proper Goblin Army instead of it's normal features. I don't remember that it was ever confirmed but your suspicion for why the army came is the popular opinion, a combination of her having the commander/general class and the opinion and reputation she built with the goblins she first summoned.

Enri's stat block in the LN at this part has her levels listed as Sergeant 1lv Commander 2lv General 2lv So yeah, the implication is definitely that her having a higher level meant a better effect with the horn. Interestingly, it proves Ainz hopes correct that characters native to the New World can gain levels and their correlating benefits, like he was trying with Hamsuke.

i cant get a read on neila. on one hand she says stuff like "i hope my future husband is like this" then on the other she's like "lupis is so hot". what side are you on ma'am? lol

Crawlingchaos03

Well, what did we learn folks? Never rush into battle, and don't be a "Yes Man" to a dumb prince. Maybe if the prince had a few working braincells, everything would've been fine, but well now everyone is dead thanks to him lol

Kurato Wakiru

I think Enri leadership stats simply brought up the goblin quality, but the deciding factor was prince brought 5k soldier is what cause it to summon a large army to match the enemy. Lupus reported that there were 5k soldiers (1k prince, 4k from the general guy) at the village. The goblin strategist said that there were 5k goblins. Ainz said it summon at most 20 trash tier goblins back in the game, like let say there a guild war and it like 100 vs 80 and somebody use the horn, it would summon 20. count(Enemy.party) - count(Friendly.party)= goblin summon. The item is the same and never change, it just the extreme circumstance broke it.

18:50 Zhuge Liang has been isekai-d, as a goblin no less!

Red caps are basically from DnD in the dnd website : "A redcap is a homicidal Fey creature born of blood-lust. Redcaps, although small, have formidable strength, which they use to hunt and kill without hesitation or regret. Redcaps lack subtlety. They live for direct confrontation and the mayhem of mortal combat."

Another theory is that the horn summon proportionaly of charisma/leadership skill of the user, but since it wasn't META to do such skill, the standard was 20-ish goblin. And since goblin are so low in the game, they died quick on player (hence the trash item) but because Enry had nos cooldown, she grinded the leader skill. Everything make her a Leader-build upgrading the second horn. Hail General Enry

Ketanak

Also, now the village is in a logistical nightmare, how can they feed 5k goblins lol

Virtuous_Wanderer

My guess would be that Ainz is going to intervene in some capacity maybe? That or, Enri will just have the goblins help with expansion, and hunting to cover the food cost until they can make up for it with trade, and agriculture

carbonfiberRS

General Neila, how many ogres do we have again? Is it 2, 3 or 5?

Philotes

I was just going to write this. Yes, exactly. As for what the secret conditions for summing the army was, we don't know but it could be related with Enri treating the goblins well (e.g. them surviving a long time and getting names). Could also be related to Enris Commander class but if it was that simple, someone would probably already have found out about it. I think it probably is a combination of multiple things.

The Force

Yeah I did a dive into it back in the day which I remember the consensus being a combination of essentially "high rep" with the goblins and/or having active summoned/allied goblins who recognize you as a leader, and a military leadership class like Commander. In base game logic it seems the most reasonable, especially if goblins are, as in most games, treated as trash mobs and allying with them requires being a certain type of monster race and/or finding hidden friendly npcs to start the path. We know Nazarick and monstrous race players were rare cause non-monster race players hunted them a lot for loot and exp so a *goblin* line player would probably be very limited... In the worlds logic. I feel like irl it'd be inversed with mostly monstrous races taking out all the human players xD

The Force

Sides? Why choose a side when you can just be thirsty xD

The Force

An interesting theory from Kurato but I believe Enri blew the first horn simply because they were shorthanded and she hoped the goblins could help, not as protection from a new invading force or threat. Which is to say numbers are also likely shaped by stats as well, because purely numbers would mean summoning a handful of goblins but we see ~20 goblins which Enri summoned the first time. Though as Ainz posits it could be any number of hidden circumstances including just "large scale conflict"

Neah

Since you liked the romantic scene between Enri and Nfirea, once Enri got the taste of the nightly activities she got so into it, that Nfirea needed to create stamina potions to keep up with her

Dethrox

Lmao prince dont know how to fight with 5K soldiers.. and they want him to be a king ?? pleaaase make a better joke ill wait

Dethrox

Hmm since no one wrote it let me tell you :D Redcaps goblins are stronger then death knights summoned by Ainz :D soo yea they were cooked.. (ofc DKs are tankier but that about it) the horn was pretty much explained in comments couldnt tell you more and you were pretty close yourself^^

Dethrox

make sense :O with her.. command/general new strenght (reffering to that one scene with knife)

Urf

counting with Neila, 2 ogres, 3 ogres, 5 ogres

HellToYou

The horn of the goblin general, even though not stated precisely what they were, had specific requirements to summon a huge army. It is speculated to be around levels, specific classes and skills of the user, and presumably facing an army (the army that Enri summoned is the exact same number as the prince's) Fun fact, the goblin army is like top 3-5 strongest army in the new world lol, it's really overpowered. Also if I remember Red caps are level 43-45 (for reference Gazeff is around 30, death knights are 34 and shizu "CZ" one of the battle maids and the weakest is 46), so they are insanely strong compared to people of the new world.

Tambia

The name Redcap comes from their habit to dip their hats in the blood of those they have slain. It is stained red, not made red. Thus a Red Cap.
