Yes it's very difficult to determine what would be spoiler. There is a ton of subtle story points made that are easy to miss the first time one watches this show. The reason was actually revealed during the conversation with Marin's friends in ep1, but it flies right by most viewers as they are focused on Gojo's inner monologue.
