Interviewer: "So Adam, can I call you Adam? How did you get the name Smasher?" Adam: "Funny story, actually; you see, there was this choom who attacked the Arasaka Tower and..."

Twohearts Off

Yeah at least David's death is foreshadowed basically since episode 1 or 2, with Rebecca it all happens in the span of a second. What I mean by foreshadowed for David is that the BDs he watches about edgerunners going psycho and dying is called Edgerunners, just like the show. Also you see him get shot in the head in the opening. Everyone keeps reminding him he's gonna die, and the viewer, just like David, is in denial and knows it throughout the whole season.

JumpingTheMoon

Yep. It's a really great example of how to write a story where the ending is obvious, like you said it's clear he's going to die from the very start, which is why it doesn't feel unfair or anything. This is just the track he was on.

JumpingTheMoon

Wrong city, wrong people. At least in the game, this basically happens in reverse for experienced players. There's always a bigger fish.

RobinDeHood

God dont trigger my flashbacks from the first Season 😢i will never forget this

Ditto Demo123

it hits so hard in the dub. She says "fuck you" and it really is a line that would be her last. Also note, her brother also got the same death treatment repeating the moment over and over

Freitag

Not just that it was a pointles death. The anime realy rubs it in with 3 different view points

NyaviiVT

HOLY MOLY.... RIP ....

Virtuous_Wanderer

I have an Adam Smasher, and Rebecca mug/coaster set.
