"Are you telling me the stuff we did in private and also twice on the sidewalk made a baby robot? How?" - Bender "Bending" Rodriguez

The Planet Express office gets a new vending machine, and its contentious relationship with Bender eventually leads to robo-sex—which results in a robo-baby. Will Bender do the right thing, or will little Ben be abandoned like so many bastard bending units before him?

Whatever anyone wants to say about the plot (I say with David Sims’s recent “being smarter than a film isn’t interesting criticism” post in mind), seeing Prometheus on a big screen was one of my favorite movie going experiences because, when it’s “on”, it is truly beautiful and cinematic.

my best memory of Alien: Resurrection was the Cracked magazine parody. they imply that there will be at least 11 sequels, we're on number 7 at the moment. only a few more to go! I appreciated the reference to Jurassic Park Lost World and at the end of the parody they are apprehending by M.I.B. - very of its time 1998 the issue is on archive https://archive.org/details/cracked-323-january-1998/mode/2up

I am a proponent for male sterilization as it's less intrusive and pretty simple compared with the same for women. It is, of course, also basically permanent so you do have to make sure you're all set in the kid department. I went through it myself and it's nothing. About five seconds of pain followed by a life of worry free sex. I also had a great urologist who complemented me on my King of the Hill shirt when we first me so I knew I was in good hands. And on the circumcision debate, it's still a common procedure. When my son was born I looked into it a bit and decided against it. The simple reasoning being if he wants one he can always get one later in life, but it's not really something that can be undone. I'd say when the conversation came up amongst expectant parents at the time it was about a 50:50 split.

There was a lot of talk at the time that Chapman was really robbed on BRAVE, and it was a much better film before she was shunted out. Whatever good stuff is in it is almost assuredly closer to her vision.

Bob turn the microwave off, vasectomies are free! A few days of sore balls is well worth a lifetime of infertility.

Prometheus is famously messy because they wrote it as an Alien prequel, rewrote it to be a standalone film with no ties to the original IP, and then re-rewrote it when it became clear that there was demand for a new Alien film

So something I only noticed when hearing the isolated audio clips on the podcast is that the musical sting at the very end of the episode REALLY sounds like someone trying to make a Community reference. Maybe I'm reaching here, but that little happy whistling tune seems very out of place for Futurama, but it's EXACTLY what was commonly used on the first season or two of Community, and the fact that it happens right after dropping a kid off at a college for registration seems to be the kicker. Idk, you tell me, the clip starts at about the 2:03 mark of the podcast.

I think you're totally right.

I felt like Cassandra shouting at the world that Alien Resurrection was a good film. The opening credits are disgusting, but Jeunet played a blinder with this. I also loved Delicatessen

At my very first office job in the mid 90s, they had one of those drop a cup, spit out a drink machines. Your choices were terrible instant coffee, terrible hot chocolate, terrible cappuccino (instant coffee and hot chocolate mixed) and CHICKEN SOUP. The chicken soup tasted like salty yellow chicken coffee and it was truly a nightmare. The week before Christmas, the vending company would make drinks free, and my coworkers and I would challenge each other to see how many terrible, wonderful free drinks we could enjoy. I only every tried the soup once. That's how awful it was.

Alien Romulus is an abomination. Fede Alvarez must be stopped.

Henry is not beating the allegations that the only things he talks about re: Baldur's Gate 3 is sex and/or nudity
