Bloody Evolution Chapter 58 (Patreon)

After spending a good bit of time with Weiss and most of my other friends who weren't directly inside of my Peerage and such. I went back to the workshop below Lux's tower as I got to work on my next major project.
"First stage is making a large space in which I can fully seal, and then depressurize to almost zero air. So that I can then open a door into space." I muttered to myself thoughtfully.
And you know what. Having very enhanced eyes and magic/ki and cultivation running through my body allowed me to pick up actual welding a good bit easier.
That and the magitech of this world did have its advantages over the tech of my old life. So while I couldn't just yeet a giant, completely sealed chamber into the massive underground area.
I could use my inborn talent for welding as it repairing any modern ship required such talents to weld hundreds of thick steel plates together to make a giant box. Which was completely sealed via using a runic torch to melt the metal around the edges and to completely fuse the edges together.
That alone took several hours to do even with Ren's help as he used a larger mech body to move materials around as I worked.
The next step was the more annoying bit as in order to actually keep this fifty-meter-by-fifty-meter cube perfectly sealed. I had to make sure there was only one way in and out. And no pipes running around besides the singular extra pipe, which would be used to control the cube's pressurization.
And as for the machines to take care of the pressurization of the workspace. That was actually easy because it fit VERY deeply into the more modern system of naval technology.
Because if you didn't have the right technology to control pressure systems and you tried to full send a sub into the depths... Lmao. Then you get the Ocean Gate treatment. And even with my cultivation, such a massive pressure explosion would easily kill me.
Hell, I woudn't be surprised if the Ocean Gate sub's pressure explosion would also kill a Sage who wasn't already shielding themselves.
"Soooo why you building a big metal box boss man! You trying to catch Grimm? Oh! Are you trying to raid Mistral in revenge and steal all their women to hear the lamentations of their men?" Nora asked excitedly.
I was currently busy welding with a face mask and unable to respond obviously as Nora just starred blankly into the sparking electric light she was immune to. So Ren, being the bro he was. Responded for me with the common-sense answer.
"Nora... The saying is to kill their men and hear the lamentation of their women." Ren said with a helpless sigh before adding on. "Also, Jake isn't the type to go out of his way to collect slaves. As is shown by his refusal to take that Schnee Homunculus they wanted to throw at him."
I could all but feel the tilted head of confusion as she replied in utter confusion. "Why would the women be lamenting? Jake has a very nice penis and can provide much better safety and comfort outside of the horrible clans in Mistral?"
While I knew my interactions with Nora very specifically wasn't NTR or anything because Ren was literally chemically castrated by his semblance... And was still just a severed head on an android body/mech at this point.
It was still something to hear Nora say so confidently that my penis was nice to another guy.
And Ren, with his very logic-focused brain, helpfully commented. "I am glad you think that is the case Nora. But remember, it is normally the Mistral slaver's and sometimes Atlas-based megacorps who come to raid. The source of the saying is that the Mistralians would come to steal the women of Vale and their men would be killed."
Nora was quiet for a good moment as I dutifully just tried to get the wiring hooked up for the control system of this workstation in order.
But that silence didn't last for long as she said something evil with little care. "Then how will the Mistralians react then? If you kill their men, will their women lament? Because I remember Pyrrha's mom killing her own husband. And your father was a real piece of work as well."
I finally rolled out on my rolling board and said with exasperation as I flipped over my welding mask. "Nora, can we stop talking about killing the citizens of Mistral and doing crazy stuff? I am trying to send stuff into space here!"
Nora just rolled her eyes and said with some disappointment. "Bah! It's just my luck I get a lord who doesn't want to hear the lamentations of his enemies' men... Or women, depending on his tastes."
I threw my hands up and almost shouted as Ren, who was distracted and turned towards Nora, let go of the superstructure he was bracing with it groaning.
"Nora, if you don't get the hell out of here, I will give you something to lament!"
Even as Ren and I braced the structure and made sure the vault door which was going to act as the main entry point and needed to be damn near perfectly sealed wasn't getting fucked up because I hadn't had time to weld in the supports.
Nora happily skipped away with a helpful 'remark' being left behind. "I wish my Lord would give me something to 'lament' I am soooo bored with how Luxy said I couldn't have the servants do war games in the hallways!"
The workspace was quiet for a good minute until I said quietly. "I am actually terrified what kind of child she would have, honestly... Two terror's running around would bring this tower down."
Ren... Didn't have an answer besides an awkward cough as he helpfully shifted the massive vault door so I could continue to weld in the supports for it's hinges.
