Unbound Mantra Chapter 10 (Patreon)

The crafting system in this world for I who had this wrist implant, was... Painfully simple. Normal Pal Spheres barely even touched my qi and only used a bit of my natural energy in the process of making them.
Honestly, the whole 'crafting' system didn't really bug me. I could understand some hyper-advanced magitec using my mana and a conjoined pocket dimension's materials within to craft things in some magical way.
But how the hell did the simple crafting bench that had several wood and stone tools help me 3D print Palspheres which innately had their own tiny pocket dimension?
Not a fucking clue. Maybe there was some kind of resonance between a table of crappy tools and the implant? Because it's not like those woo/stone tools were used either.
Still, spheres in hand, I looked over at a lone grazing teafant that was lying partly underwater to eat the algae and underwater plant matter near the edge of the water.
Hefting one of the couple of dozen basic spheres I made I walked over to that teafant and with an almost gentle throw. I bonked the teafant over the head with the sphere which exploded into light that swallowed the teafant into the palsphere's internal pocket dimension.
"Hmm... So that is how it works. The palsphere creates a stable pocket dimension that which is then tied to the pal. And its progress bar is based on how strong and stable the pocket dimension is anchored to that pal!" I realized.
And I could actually see the progress bar as the sphere attempted to bind the teafant with the pocket dimension tied to the sphere. But with a loud crack, and a swoosh of displaced air. The teafant resisted the sphere's objective and broke out of the sphere with a splash as it hit the water below.
But I expected that to happen at this point. I expected for the sphere not to work with the teafant, only to be surprised at this point. So even as I watched the sphere attempt to capture it, I had already climbed into the knee-high waters.
And as the Teafant looked around with fury in it's gaze. Compressed water ready to be shot out of it's tiny trunk like a high pressure water cutter. I was ready for it.
A loud splash of a thud rang out as the angry teafant's head was smashed back under the water by me... Wielding a literal baseball bat that I crafted with just some wood.
The teafant was stunned for a moment after the blunt force trauma to the head, and I didn't stop with just one blow as I knew these pals once synced up to my future technology, would basically become immortal.
That, and even then I still NEEDED to kill a fuck load of pals to harvest resources like Pal Fluids unless I wanted to make a massive industrial complex to farm those materials 'humanely' through a ranch.
With three full-powered hits to the teafant's head, which was now leaking milky like blood into the surrounding water. I tossed another sphere into the limp teafant.
A loud shoosh rang out as it was sucked up into the floating sphere which gently shook as it's internal system cloaked the teafant in its pocket dimension nonsense so that the teafant could be stored into cloud storage units.
And with a soft clicking noise. The sphere digitized itself as the teafant was sealed away back in my implant with the implant's system going off.
[Teafant Acquired 1/5 Full DNA Module not yet collected. Partner Skill for full DNA Collection is Soothing Shower - When activated, spouts mysterious water that soothes wounds and restores the User's Physical State scaled by the Teafant's physical level.]
Then, with another soft chime the implant sent a more direct message as it said.
[User has forcibly activated Wildlife Taming Module. Spheres used on targets in 'Halfbreeds' and 'Pals' will be mentally reprogrammed while in a digitized state to follow the user's commands and believe the user is the meaning of their life/existence.]
I stared at the teafant I had captured in my hands and as I did so... I couldn't help a helpless chuckle. "Man... This world is just 'perfect' for a truly terrible person to come through. And these 'half-breeds' are just literally anyone who isn't a pure human being."
Hell, the very reason I myself was a pure human being was the fact that I had been specifically reincarnated into that DXD world that loved to take over other worlds and such. I very much doubted other people actually born in that world of DXD were 'pure' either.
Besides my heavier thoughts on terrible things I was no doubt going to do in the future for strength and stability in my own life. I pushed my internal energy into the teafant to quickly heal it up as I climbed out of the water.
While continuing to heal that teafant I looked outwards towards the other teafants in the distance who hadn't noticed my actions or just literally didn't care.
And seeing they weren't rushing after me or anything I brushed a hand across my face before I muttered. "It is getting a bit dark. Probably three or four more hours till night actually hits."
If this world followed Palworld's pal appearance logic in anyway. That meant that more 'powerful' predator pals like Foxsparks and Daedreams would be coming out at night.
And until I got some of the local armor and an energy shield. I'd rather not pick a fight with a literal flamethrower if I could help it.
I then focused on the forest a good ways away to the side away from the pond where I could see with my elevated position. A Lamball was in the process of being viciously torn apart by a trio of Cattivas.
"Hmm, if I recall correctly just having a Cattiva in my party can actually give me a hundred pounds more 'carry weight' I wonder if it will just give me a strength boost actually?" I mused to myself as I hefted my baseball bat on my shoulder.
And then, pushing my mantra through my feet, I leapt from the slight hill I was on and, with a loud crack, I fell upon the Cattiva's below, with my bat very clearly killing one of the Cattiva with the force of the blow while I kicked another with my landing between them.
The last still standing Cattiva stunned for a brief moment by my abrupt arrival was then greeted with my baseball bat and knocked to the ground allowing me to further beat the one I had kicked to the ground with my drop.
And while I didn't kill the two Cattiva, they actually did manage to get up to try to strike at me. But I blocked their energy covered claw's with my bat before continuing to beat them before they fell to the ground as their bodies gave out.
With a double series of 'Thooms' as the spheres captured the pals. I looked at my bat with a slight frown as I could see clear light gouges on the bat from the Cattiva's claws.
[Cattiva Acquired 2/5 Full DNA Module not yet collected. Partner Skill for full DNA Collection is 'Cat Helper' Enhances user's body with neutral energy, making them physically stronger by a percentage based on the strongest Cattiva in party relative to the user's own strength.]
I shifted my bat a bit as I looked down at the corpses of the Cattiva and the mangled lamball, and with a hand wave, the bodies shifted and condensed; 'pal essence items' filled my inventory as the implant gathered pal wool and lamball meat.
I then looked out towards the distance and wondered to myself as I went back to my workstation.
'I wonder how the other people here deal with Pals, which are so much stronger than normal humans? Hell, even the 'tower bosses' only have a single strong pal. No one has more than one pal, actually.' I mused to myself.
