Jimin never really lets it get to him that Jeongguk gives him the cold shoulder. He’s always liked to play along, dote on Jeongguk until he got sick of it, play around until he got pushed away.

He doesn’t mind the push and pull relationship. But with the years it gets a little harder, especially when he realises he’s fallen for Jeongguk in a way that can never be reciprocated.

And yeah, usually that’s just a background noise in his head. As long as he’s doing other things, solo projects, traveling around, it really all kind of fades.

However, when he gets back from his solo travels and sees Jeongguk again in the old dorm, yeah.. that’s when it starts coming back.

Old feelings.

And when they drink together, and drink even more, he’s not sure they’re really old feelings, or just feelings he’s had for a long time.

Jeongguk is very drunk, and very giggly, doing karaoke and dancing around and Jimin just watches with his chest aching, as well as his cheeks from smiling at his little dongsaeng.

And when Jeongguk joins him on the couch later, and talks animatedly about everything and anything, Jimin just listens and smiles until the younger falls asleep.

He always does that, falling asleep in the middle of it. As if all the energy suddenly gets sucked out of him, and then it doesn’t matter where he is, he’ll just curl up and start snoring.

This time, he’s lying with his head in Jimin’s lap, snoring softly with his lips parted.

And Jimin just watches him, the peaceful way he breathes in and out, counts his pretty eyelashes, looks at the cute little birthmark on his nose and underneath his lip.

Jimin’s read a few times before that birthmarks are places they were kissed in their past life. And he.. kind of wonders if maybe he’d been Jeongguk’s lover in a past life. Because he loves that cute nose, and he loves his pretty lips too.

He wishes in this lifetime it could have been the same..

He slowly caresses through Jeongguk’s hair, but Jeongguk shrugs away his hand, objecting even in his sleep, and Jimin feels his heart clench.
