AGARES, chapters 60-65, ~13K words

I believe we are now in the "regular batch release" era, and AGARES will likely be coming to RoyalRoad in the near future, mostly waiting on the cover. But you, on Patreon, should be getting words with regular frequency now that I'm done with Inkhaven.

Note: still working on a workflow for getting the epubs to look better, they're created via Google Docs but I think need to go through some kind of process to render better. I tried Calibre's epub to epub converter and it seemed like it screwed some things up, then I tried to convert to markdown and back to epub, and maybe the tools weren't right but it didn't look good either. So I'll need to find something that's more reliable, as I don't know what in Google's downloader is actually causing the problem.

I've not had an issue with the epubs you've been releasing to this point, I appreciate you doing the steps for it

Publication really is everything bad about corporate control in one person, aren't they.

Okay, as fun as it'd be to have Inventory or other magic powers, "dial reality's inputs down to your personal level of comfort" sounds absolutely amazing for autists. It'd be so much easier to chase extroversion impulses if not for those pesky sensory overload issues. Similar feeling to watching the first season of Stranger Danger Things and coming away thinking, who cares about psionics, I want a sensory deprivation tank... Still waiting for the other isekai shoe to drop. Not expecting anything so cliche as "Mulligan breaks out of the narrative frame and meets System face to face, then with their powers combined they go back to Earth", but there's also only so many places that such parallel development tracks can go.

nice to read these!

Now I wonder if Sy is like the literature equivalent of a war criminal, that erased his own memory. An author pseudonym might not work in a transhuman setting, where you can't hide your identity due to stylistic analysis being automated. So you need to change yourself more drastically escape audience expectations and/or a creative rut.

“straight and narrow” -> “strait and narrow”

“Welcome,” said Audrey as she swept her hand in a broad gesture, “To the Marketplace of Ideas!” lmao

Used this prompt to get Claude to fix the dark mode in these epubs: "These are epubs from an author I'm enjoying on Patreon. The first one works great. The second one doesn't work with my Kobo's dark mode. Can you figure out the difference and fix it?" Works great!
