Hungry Box

Perfect Friday night activity...sub brief, cup of tea and a bowl of peaches with condensed milk!

Robert Sanges

I am so glad these "Briefs" are sticking around. Love to learn about this and hear your perspective.

Andrew Charlton

Thanks for another great vid Jive, stay safe with the storms

Alexander

A great one again thank you Jive

JustaFLOB

This is the best brief yet. Great job of transmitting a lot of useful info in a short timeframe. Thanks and keep 'em comin'!

Noah Smith

what is the point of status-6, it seems to be a revenge, preemptive weapon, why put so much money into a system that has a bunch of other systems that do the same job?

Chronus

Thanks very much Jive! Good luck with the storm, batten the hatches!

Katfezza

HISutton also does good books. A friend of mine gifted me "World Submarines" for my birthday and it's quality reading. Oh! And thank you for the new video, of course.

GreenMan

I find that one of the worst parts of the Kursk tragedy was how it is believed the survivors trapped back aft perished. Supposedly a oxygen candle malfunction caused a flash fire, which killed some of the survivors. Yet some of the survivors, avoided the flash fire by submerging themselves as the compartment was partially flooded. When they surfaced, they found that that the fire had burnt up all the oxygen causing them to suffocate. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Aaron Amick

Hey, Kat. I'll have to check out HI Sutton's books.

Aaron Amick

In Military speak, it can be a 'Second Strike' weapon that insures the Nuclear War is not won by anyone.

Bargunner

As usual great lecture! I love learning about soviet/Russian subs. Also I believe the intermission entertainment at 16min is known as "Putin on the Ritz"

Mark McGrath

Great job, and I absolutely wish you didn't have to use Patreon for my own personal reasons, but hey you make it worth it. Also, get out of crazy FL before some hurricane sweeps the area clean.

Brandon Johnson

Good work... I sent you something on Twitter in appreciation

Whitzwolf

Thanks for the excellent briefing Jive!

Jeff Moon

Great job jive, former STS 1,688 for ever!

Benjamin A Rudnick

Intended to circumvent missile defenses, is my guess.

Svein Trondsen

Excellent video Sir, look forward to the next brief!

Bargunner

Jive, I would love a lecture on the design then loss of the K-278 (Mike class). Thank you again for your great lectures and streams.

Burn Hard

Okay, so mouse roar is an infrasound sonar most likely.

Largezo

the oscar is a big girl full of nasty surprises.

Seahour

Very good video. I was soo confused by the blooper haha :) I was like there must be such an amazing stat he decided to add oh... that's what it is...

Kevin Peterman

I play world of warships, did a little research.... this thing is basically the same tonnage as a kongo class battleship...jesus.....

TheFreaker86 .

Great job on doing those briefings! Haven't watched many of them yet, but they are intriguing! :-)

DZL

Really sad about the Kursk. Ego and the desire to keep up appearances cost brave young men their lives.

Darmach

I wonder why escape capsule wasn't used on Kursk. Is 300ft too deep for that?

Alexey Vlasenko

The explosion in the torpedo room heavily damaged and flooded the forward compartments, rendering the escape capsule inaccessible

pat.h.n123456789@gmail.com

Mouse Roar MG-519 seems analogous to LPI (Low Probability of Intercept) radar that I read about in a radar textbook.

Robert Schultz

So since they had so many different screw designs on different ships was this a nightmare for sonar techs to keep straight?
