40:15 Something I only realized on rewatch. This entire scene, including the promo video, is all in Frankie's mind. It wasn't just the animals. What Andi saw, of Frankie in a dark room staring at static, was all she'd been doing the entire time.

I don't know about orientation, but Frankie comes across as strongly neuro-divergent, what in the old days would have been referred to as a "savant" in engineering, not even realizing just how good at it they are...the offhand "hunch" they gave Andi to fix that head, while apparently believing Andi is the smarter one.

Ive seen a theory that frankie is trans based on who calles them what(Frankie and Francesca yet sparky called them Franklin when he was pissed off at them trying to steal so I think sparky was just deadnaming Frankie to be cruel)

Sixty nine minute reaction. Nice. "If it gets creepy..." When. You mean when. That montage, though. It works if you just watch and if you go frame by frame. And it tells you everything you need to know in thirty seconds. "What the fuck!? That's messed up!" summarizes the entire pilot. And I love it. Francesca has been called Frank, Frankie, and Franklin. Maybe they are fluid? If the Guineveres do have a perception filter and see the world like a fairy tale, I feel there's going to be a Matrix / Sucker Punch vibe to the show as it shifts between the "real" world and the "fantasy" world... ---- Production babies - either Dana had twins, or this pilot took *years*.

I don't know if Dana had any amount of inspiration from the old 1990-1995 manga "Battle Angel", but I'm getting some STRONG vibes because there are some VERY obvious parallels. Edit: Apparently I'm not the only one; Chelzor straight up titled her reaction "Battle Angel Guinevere". Edit Edit: I just noticed while watching another reaction, but when Frankie starts up the repair halo, the screen shows what looks like scans of an *actual brain*.

Reinforcing what has likely been said already, but this is a Pilot and unless they go and say Pilot = Episode 1 of the series like they did with TADC, it should just be treated as "proof of concept" until that time. As for characterizations and character identities, while both Frankie and Andi both are referred to as female with she / her pronouns there's a strong implication that Frankie (Franklin) is Female -> Male (this is reinforced by Sparky calling Frankie "Frank") however they still use female pronouns instead of non-binary or male pronouns. As for Andi, this one is a bit more difficult to spot but if you notice Andi as a child looks very "male coded" (aka. like a young boy) and adult Andi is more female aligned, however if you notice physically in Andi's Knight artwork Andi looks more male aligned than female aligned, so it could be that Andi is Male -> Female. However scouring a bit their genders and identities are still being kept rather "under wraps" by the dev team for now. The only commentary that Dana mentioned was about people shipping them together, which Dana mentioned she doesn't mind the shippers HOWEVER they are meant to be two very close friends and that just because they live together etc. doesn't mean they ARE or are implied to become a couple. Now...theory time... I have seen and support a pretty interesting theory, that Princess Guinevere is actually Olivia's Mother who passed away, they are very intentionally keeping her appearance in the family portrait above the bed "faded" or "obscured" from view. The suspicion is that Olivia's Mother passed away or was terminally Ill and turned into the Android which is why Olivia is trying to fix her constantly. There's definitely something cooking with the park when Olivia mentions this is "our kingdom" perhaps the park was originally her mother's idea, further reinforced with the hallucination kitty mentioning "all monarchs are usurpers (Olivia) and descendants of usurpers (Olivia's father who usurped the "Kingdom" or the Idea of the Park from her mother). Her father likely took the park idea and bastardized it into a the consumerist dystopia that is poisoning everyone with the "blue lung disease" etc. from Olivia's mother's original idea. could be a wild theory but it has a lot of "sticking points"

Unless Dana says otherwise, I'm 90% certain that Frankie is trans MtF, with Sparky dead naming her "Franklin" and Guinevere using her new name, "Francesca." Something about Sparky's tone during their confrontation just gave off that sort of vibe.

There are a lot of things that are hidden in this video. Mosco's comment about maybe Gwen being a surrogate for Olivia is interesting. My partner looked at the claw machine scene at the beginning of the short and immediately (and innocently) said "oh, this is what the show is about." I think they're right. It's going to be a show about rescuing Gwen several times from the trap of the park and uncovering how fucked Park Planet has become in the process.

"Maybe they are fluid?" My take, based on the hallucinations near the end is that, regardless of 'origin', Frankie see's herself as female, ("Wake up Lady Francesca!") but highish chance she's trans.

Definitely see all the digs at capitalism, consumerism, the media industry, the acting industry. I definitely see themes of escapism and i think a bit of themes of DV. Plus Guinevere kind of reminds me of a lot female actors/ celebrities from late 90s early 2000s who need to appear perfect but at some point reach their breaking point. Olivia is like the abusive partner or the hellish acting manager or agent.

There’s an Easter Egg in the “Astro Amusements” front page. “Made with 100% Rock Paper” and the brother is holding…? Reggie’s Vending is not just limited to medical. In that cyberpunk style it is your corner store, but instead of being on shelves it’s in vending machines or stored in the back when someone pays the right machine. 32:17 That QR code next to Sparky as he lounges on the wheelhouse roof, it is functional. From what I can tell of Guinevere: the original is the one we saw at the start and “locked in the tower, playing games and pretending to not be afraid”, which I will take as being was running simulations and scenarios from which the corporation developed their stories and other media properties. She is also the Ur-Guinevere, the one from which all others sprang. So the “park host” Guinevere’s, along with data sharing so that customers will have a familiar interaction no matter which Guinevere they encounter, those interactions are also fed to the original and used to help refine product development. Not sure how many times the original has escaped, but this last time seems longer. And as the snippets at the opening are showing, Park Planet’s creative content and general corporate health have been in decline since. When Andi and Frankie snuck in, they encountered a “park host”. The spasm in the finger being a sympathetic reaction to what the Ur-Guinevere was experiencing. But Frankie taking an active interest in that Guinevere’s well-being in repairing the twitch brought her into focus for the original, and probably made the spasm stop for a time at the source. And for that the quiet and heartfelt whisper of “thank you”. For recognition and interaction; so the Guinevere “park hosts” will have access to biometrics on park visitors as well as company personnel and the planetary population. Figure also that any park visitor will have data mining done on them. If a Child A goes up and interacts with Guinevere G-7490-2 it will have already access to this child’s own preferences to the character, the media, which version, favorite movies and products,…everything. And then the whole interaction is saved. So later when this child meets Guinevere Y-9247-4 it will seamlessly response as if it were the same Guinevere and that interaction is catalogued. When Frankie and Andi encountered their Guinevere and they didn’t respond with their names, a quick biometric scan was done and compared to the planetary database. Viola! They have their names. “Exotics” is likely the fluid used in the biomechanical components. And incidentally, the production of which causes the industrial waste contributing to Blue Lung. Sparky himself can be seen as a very Long John Silver figure, and Frankie his (former) Jim Hawkins. That was also very dumb of Andi to get careless for that stun baton. Sparky isn’t packing that shoulder rig and “accessories” as a fashion statement after all. And given Andi’s rather haggard state, that blue seems to come from her. Now hopefully they’ll get enough of a budget next time so we can see a fully animated fight with Guinevere so we can understand how they took apart Sir Arthur.
