Woooow that was fast mosco, kudos :0

Wyrx

No kidding.. 😄💯😊☺️ Was just looking for reactions here, much kudos👍 yeah!

Dafydd Mac an Leigh

The songs in the back half of this season are absolutely AMAZING. I hope this is becomes the baseline for coming seasons.

Alyssa Hopkins

I know Viv did say in interviews before that The Speaker of God is as close to God as we will see in the Hellaverse. I think she said they exist, but she doesn't want to depict them

Yoshinatorsaurus

I think Vox having heterochromia in life is why one of his eyes, the one with hypnotic powers, has a light blue outline. His human design ties into his demon design. Also, I'm pretty sure he's from the 1950's, when TVs first became easily available in households, and when televangelism first kicked off.

Yoshinatorsaurus

I also see God as a they/them. What you said about women bringing life into the world is true, but let's not forget that men provide half the genes that makes said life. So BOTH are equally important. I believe God would have both inside them to make all of this themselves.

I think Baxter's reason fkr helping is a very subtle message on redemption and othe themes of the show. He is helping becuase they were helpful and kind to him. Didnt ask for anything in return. Just let him in despite knowing he wasnt actually a believer in the hotel and provided a level of customer service he greatly apperiated and a place he calls home. And for that hes willing to go against his boss who is the biggest threat in hell right now. As absurd as it sounds, it really speaks to part of the nature of humanity.

Moonas

Jesus this episode is so low I barely can hear anything

"I really want to know what came between him and charlie." My guess? Lilith. We saw in More than Anything that lilith wasn't exactly close to lucifer anymore even when charlie was little. And in the pilot, charlie calls lilith saying "i think dad was right about me" so i assume lilith told charlie he said something about her. And then, in a previous episode of season 2(probably episode 1) she's calling her mom and telling her "he's not so bad" making it seem like lilith told her that he was, and she was trying to tell her "actually, not really"

David Johnson

"I showed you my duck" Sigh, more unsolicited duck pics...

Raine

I really liked this episode and the songs. So glad you upload your reactions so fast!

Angelus Lupus

Late to this, but I'm really loving Sir Pentious' arc here. Imagine if the first soul redeemed from hell was the key to preventing all-out Holy War!

BGTitan

The song in the reprises was super fun but Gravity's part was frickin sick.

Tristan Haller

So--did anyone else get the impression that Mosco has totally done a B&E, and was just starting to consider that might have been a bad thing? ;)

Angelus Lupus

Technically it would have been trespass... I think. Pentious, not Mosco, that is. I have no knowledge of Mosco's activities, illegal or otherwise, LOL!

Hulk Lover

Breaking and Entering is breaking a law, not a sin. There are plenty of instances where it might be considered a sin, depending on context, but overall I don't think the act itself is technically a sin, especially since we see characters in the Bible do so under God's orders.

Hulk Lover

On the topic of God's pronouns: Even if He's outside our perception of gender or whatever else, He himself has used He/Him pronouns to describe himself in the Bible. Therefore, to call him They/Them, regardless of whether God is technically nonbinary (which is definitely a form of blasphemy but I don't really care about that), would be to go against His preferred pronouns. Now, an argument could be made that He didn't technically write the Bible, but then we have to assume that the people who did are untrustworthy scribes, which opens a whole can of worms which may even include whether or not God exists, and I don't really want to get into that, so I'm gonna shut up now before I dig myself straight into Hell.

Phoenix_mercury

clearly HH isnt going by the bible therefore the bible has no input here

Someday Sera

ehh, it's the main source of the mythology being used, so it probably has a little input, alongside other obvious sources like Paradise Lost and Dante.

Someday Sera

I get the impression she had a fascinating wild youth in general. (course...I'm certainly not one to talk)

Someday Sera

I think so, he's found somewhere that's safe and supportive where he can do science for fun rather than for profit...and he's kind of into it. Simple as that.

Suplee215

Well its a place where he doesnt need to worry about profit too. He got a room and people who care.

Someday Sera

iirc she's said god is more of an ambigous, vaguely benevolent force, rather than an individual with a distinct personality (like the uh...force) To use an example nobody here is likely to get, the relationship between the speaker and god in HH reminds me of the relationship between the Speaker and the Traveler back in early Destiny. (except viv actually has a plan rather than just kinda...winging it like bungie's writers)

Based on what we see Vox was a TV star in the very late 50s to mid 60s

Zefram Mann

It's a lot more complicated than that. From Wikipedia... --------------------- The first words of the Old Testament are B'reshit bara Elohim—"In the beginning God created."[1] The verb bara (created) agrees with a masculine singular subject.[citation needed] Elohim is used to refer to both genders and is plural; it has been used to refer to both Goddess (in 1 Kings 11:33), and God (1 Kings 11:31;[2]). The masculine gender in Hebrew can be used for objects with no inherent gender, as well as objects with masculine natural gender, and so it is widely used, attributing the masculine gender to most things.[3] However, the noun used for the Spirit of God in Genesis—"Ruach"—is distinctly feminine, as is the verb used to describe the Spirit's activity during creation—"rachaph"—translated as "fluttereth". This verb is used only one other place in the Bible (Deuteronomy 32:11) where it describes the action of a mother eagle towards her nest. --------------------- I find the word "Elohim" to be of particular interest, because it is a plural form (like they/them, but referring to a supreme being). Hebrew is a fascinating language. While it only has male/female pronouns, the Talmud has recognized up to 7 different genders for millennia, often using he/him for any that aren't explicitly female.

Hulk Lover

Huh... well I'll be damned. (pun half-intended)

Nokomis Bracken

The real Bible (not the one edited to control people by the Romans) actually spoke of the Eloheim. The Living Parents. So did Jesus. If you look into it BEFORE the council of Nicea got hold of it, that's where you'll find most of this lore is coming from. The He/Him/Lord BS were alterations made by Rome to make the population more subservient to the Caesar. That's also why women were downgraded the way they were. But this is a huge subject and I'm going to stop here. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. 🤣

Ryan

It's only B&E if you break something. Picking locks doesn't break them...

Ryan

Weapons of Mass Distraction? So... boobs? ---- Given the newspaper was $0.15, and the look of the cameras, I guess Vincent's rise to power was during the 60s and 70s. Although I think he or Alastor said something about their fued lasting 70 years - so maybe the 50s? If the seraphs were swans and Lucifer is obsessed with ducks, wouldn't that make him based on the ugly duckling? Oh, wait, wrong show - this isn't RWBY! I prefer she/her pronouns for God because it pisses off CINOs (Christians in name only). The fact that it is blasphemy is just a bonus. ---- A good penultimate episode bringing the pot to a boil. The stage is set, all the players are in place, and everybody's singing. Giving major "One Day More" from Les Miserables vibes. Does that mean Angel Dust is Fantine? Do you hear the people sing...

Wolfie

18:11 I was thinking ‘the ugly duckling’ story analogy.

King

Robert Sinclair (the producer Vox killed) was actually a real person--he died in the 70s from being stabbed by a burglar in his home

Lilac Chimera

As horrible as the Vees are, it's actually is so so important to me how much they care about each other. Those two truly do love Vox (for some reason lol) and even if he's gone off the deep end and is treating him like shit, they still want to publicly support him, and just talk it all out once the chaos has passed. It's so sweet how much they're willing to put put up with, and as seen in the next episode, even him trying to kill EVERYONE including themselves wasn't enough to make them abandon him. They are a team and a family and their idiot having an ego-trip meltdown isn't going to change that.
