Alastor played Vox like a damn fiddle! Now that he's free from Rosie AND is back at full strength, who knows what he'll do? I guarantee he's going to be the main villain soon enough. And that cliffhanger. SO CLOSE! You had to predict it. 😂

CrowOfAFeather

I mean, we all figured that Alastor meant "not lay a hand on Charlie" literally, it was kinda obvious xD super happy to see it come into play though! Not to mention that his and Charlie's deal is now done and over, she no longer has to do him any favours which has me so relieved! I was worried that it would be something he'd save for the long run, glad Charlie is out of the woods on that one! But come on, give Abel a break. "Just do something!" He did, but we've seen his character, of course he's overwhelmed, thrust into a situation like that when his whole afterlife has been nothing but relaxation and taking it easy. Or getting upset with Lucifer? because he didn't tell vaggi that it's angelic steel? That information wouldn't have helped anyway, she'd still need Carmilla. Personally I've just been so tired of all the wild theories floating around that I'm just not gonna take part in any of them and let Viv and Spindlehorse tell the story as intended.

Will Zelle

personally I think Rosie is maybe Roo...idk how it will fit in to everyhting but im exited it see if im right or not :)

Yoshinatorsaurus

Honestly, I think it's the other way around. I think Rosie is actually Roo/Eve wearing a mask and the Lilith we see in Heaven IS Lilith. She's just too similar to every depiction we've seen of Lilith so far for it not to be her. Plus, the eyes of Roo are all down here, with Rosie. I can imagine Roo giving rise to the cannibals. Plus, if Abel's in Heaven, Caine must be down here somewhere, most likely with his mom, Eve. And I can't imagine a reason Lilith would be such a cold bitch, avoiding Charlie and Lucifer, but still be caring towards Charlie as Rosie. Her being Eve just makes the most sense.

Alyssa Hopkins

I 100% agree that Rosie is Lilith, but I think a lot of Hazbin reactors get confused on what the '7 years' relates to. At this point in time, it's only how long Alastor was away and how long Lilith had been gone at the beginning of S1. Alastor and Rosie have had their deal since the day before Alastor died which was decades ago. I don't believe we've ever got a confirmed number of years that the exorcisms were happening, but it seems like it would have been a lot more than 7 years. And while I think Roo will be important, I wouldn't count on her to play any real role before her name has even been mentioned in Hazbin. It wouldn't feel right for that to happen when she's never been mentioned at all before.

xman t

Lucifer absolutely knows vaggie is an angel. That's the reason he was fine with telling her that he can't smite sinners and that he hates the sinners

xman t

I honestly wonder how exactly charlie claiming vox as the strongest sinner automatically made him the strongest

Suplee215

Really loved this. Especially the arcs for the characters in heaven. At first I thouhht they were all comic relief characters except emily and Serra. Abel stepping up is interesting. Honestly, Abel could be an extremely interesting character in this story. Hes then world's first victim basically. The first murder victim. Will he be able to forgive Cain?

LikeCat

It was Alastor's favor (plus the fact that Charlie is powerfull as fuck - Princess of Hell and the Daugther of a (Fallen) Angel and one of first humans)

jessie H

I wonder if Rosie’s new deal was that along with helping stop Vox’s weapon, Alastor had to go back to the hotel? There has to be more to their new deal

Slush

Wait I thought of something remember in the flashback when vaggi and Charlie first talk to carmilia and there was an angel that lute slapped is there a chance that maybe that angel ended up being Rosie

d.katsuki.bakugou

Or Rosie could be the angel that vaggi was protecting

Table³

For me it seems it has to do with how the people of hell perceive you. That's why Alastor let his scream broadcast going on to cement his status. Charlie admitting it on air was pushing his powers obviously. Owning souls merely gives you "manpower" but doens't empower the individual I think.

TheOcelotKing

Rosie is the other exorcist. It would explain the neck thing, matches skin and hair tones, possibly her power, why she was so willing to help fight against Heaven. There has to be a reason why they showed us the other exorcist, and with Rosie set up as such an important character, I can see the connection. I'm also currently being torn apart on Reddit for this idea.

Raine

I am sooo curious why Alastor is back at the hotel! I loved this episode. I have few criticisms but overall I really enjoyed it.

David Johnson

A mannequin makes perfect sense for Velvette's character. Everyone's magic has icons that represent them - Charlie's is musical notes. Rosie is...roses. "But what about Lucifer?" My headcanon is that Lucifer is the one actually unkillable being in Hell. It's his punishment, after all - and it's hardly an *eternal* punishment if he can just *kill* himself, now is it? "Don't you dare!" Of *course* they dared.

Seamus

Two things: Velvette: If you have seen 'The Neon Demon' by Nicholas Winding Refn, starring Elle Fanning (great film by a misunderstood genius and an excellent performance from Fanning) i think her deal may be something similar, exploring the horrors of the modeling industry, and that she may also have pulled a Vox, killing her competition. Abel: I think we as a fandom community should prepare for regression next season. He will not maintain that serious exterior for long, a combination of his adrenaline and Lute's own issues are the only reason it happened and worked anyways.

Seamus

One more: Rosie: In many Biblical traditions and many stories, Lucifer did not fall alone. He often fell with others. Maybe Rosie fell along with Lucifer. It would explain her interest in Charlie, her great power, her ability to grant such power to Alastor and her seeming unwillingness to fight in the final battle last season, and her unwillingness to harm Alastor when he refuses her, maybe she can't.

Nurydian

I have been rewatching the Pilot Episode and during the opening you see Rosie crossing out the name of her partner's name in "Franklin and Rosie Emporium" and it show Carmilla's daughters pulling out an angelic weapon from a corpse that look a lot like Rosie under the sign (after which the other sinners ate the corpse). There is a secret there that might come back later.

Noire Queen

So many questions I have but I love this episode 🩷❤️💜🩷❤️💜

Flyby Stardancer

“Not in front of my cat!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh Mosco, never change.

Wolfan Terror

we did get confirmation. Katie Killjoy says the angels have been kiling them for 7 years.

Craig York (Yorkie)

Rosie is definitely more than a mere overlord. I think Rosie could be Roo, considering the amount of power she was able to give to Alastor. Then I think possibly the person we have seen in heaven is Eve posing as Lilith. I think Roo manipulated Alastor and Eve to do something to Lilith to stop her uprising. Then perhaps they made a manipulative deal with the Seraphim to keep Lilith in heaven as a political prisoner but had Eve pose as her; either because Lilith is dead or is being held hostage by Roo as a potential future power play.

Someday Sera

The finale was a little underwhelming if I'm honest, good fights and songs, but I was...kind of expecting things to play out in a more complex fashion. We left a lot unresolved and what we did resolve wasn't particularly satisfying. Ah well, I suppose I have to remember that, now that they know they have a couple seasons ahead of them, they can take it a bit slower. Also...I'd been arguing about what alastor's plan could be with somebody in the misc reactors comments all week and...they were right, which...I said if they were, it was a boring plan that was far too simple and...i still feel that way. Still, loved season 2 overall, so whatever, I'm sure I'll get what I wanted in season 3 in spring 2027 or so.

Someday Sera

my money is still on rosie being eve (and eve being roo) I've never really bought into the idea that lillith is anybody but lillith, but i've been wrong about a lot of things, so who knows. Be fun speculating over the next 18 months, give or take.

Someday Sera

The only problem with that is we know Rosie has been down there since at least the 1930's (when alastor died) while Vaggie has only been in hell for three years (according to charlie's rant in s1e7) and the exterminations have only been going on for 7 years, so the timelines don't really match up.

Someday Sera

Rosie was in hell when alastor died, back in the 1930's, the exterminations have only been going on 7 years, (and vaggie met charlie 3 years ago) So it wouldn't really make sense for the other angel to have been in training, and then condemned to hell, nearly 90 years prior to the exterminations beginning. She does feel important, but I'm not sure it's that.

Someday Sera

iirc her magic does have some sort of reality distorting effect (the visual changes during songs are really happening, so I suppose it's possible that saying it in front of everybody makes it real) Still...when people suggested this was alastor's plan I always responded with, yeah but it would just force rosie to make him stronger, and...i'm still not sure why it didn't work that way.

Someday Sera

Pretty much where I'm at. Plus it makes sense heaven would take Lillith as a ward/hostage during the purges. (and Lucifer did explicitly say he believes they are still married, furthering my theory that Lillith does not WANT to be in heaven, she has to be) Now she could be still be there because Rosie can't follow, or because she's up to something, but it's notable that she seems isolated, rather than being intigrated into heavens society like Pentious. And I know people keep pointing out the lack of horns and necklace/pendant but...I could see the pendant being something to suppress her power and keep her, human, essentially. Not a clue she's somebody else in disguise. Lastly, For her being an imposter to matter, she would have to like...be doing something, it has to be a betrayal. And given she's just kinda...there, it would be a reveal without much point for a story standpoint. A character we don't know who has no role in the story engaging in subterfuge doesn't really matter. Granted...i've been catastrophically wrong about a lot of things so...that means I'm probably wrong about this too.

Someday Sera

and to be fair, the weapon was powered by him, so I'm not sure it would have hurt him, a big creation magic explosion is dangerous to pretty much everybody else, but I'm not sure it's dangerous to him.

ELS_Art

You pausing during the best part of the song killed my soul. 🤣 Like if you waited a few more seconds the whole rant was pointless. Also it was made very Clear Lucifer was in the base of the weapon and not the part they lifted. 🙃

BGTitan

I'm kind of bummed that part of the promo for this season was Lute's revenge arc and she did almost nothing this entire season. I know she'll probably actually play a bigger role in the future, cuz she's so not giving up on her vengeance, but it's still a little disappointing, especially with how long animation takes and stuff.

Pikachucho

ok so i think Rosie was expecting a bigger deal to get Alastor to help but when he holds out his staff she smiles. I think it means that the only thing he wanted for his cooperation was for her to fix his staff like he asked her to do. then we see the staff all fixed when they join in. i think she was just happy that he was at least a little bit of a softie and didn't try to ask for too much which he definitely could've done.

Tintros

Hazbin was what introduced me to you, Elijah and Morgan and your channels, so there's a bit of 'coming home' watching you all react to this season. The 'howre You doin'" was adorable, and hope yout trip to Florida is smoothe!

Nihilero

Can they be redeemed if their souls belong to a demon?

Tim Sammuals

Okay I have re watched every episode before posting this comment so as I don't fell like I'm snapping in the moment. In my option this season was trash it felt so flat. it's best part was the great songs. This season fell flat. It feel like a filler ark in an anime skip able. 1 Charlie the main character was unlikable for most of it until Vaggie fucked some sense into her. 2 Alastor's deal which could have been a big plot point. Nope it just with fucking Rosie. 3 Alastor's favor from Charlie which he could have hung over her like the sword of Damocles. Thrown away like trash. 4 None of the Vees died. Val is fine he's needed for finishing Angel's story later. But Velvet and especially Vox. Vox should have died and I don't see any reason to keep him alive. Season 3 needs to be better because season 2 failed. But maybe that's just me

Someday Sera

I'd missed that, but yeah, it does look like he asked for his staff to be repaired and nothing more, showing a bit of that softer side from late season 1. (i still think he'll ultimately be THE big bad of the series) but it, along with his fondness for nifty, does show there is a little hope for him.

Someday Sera

They do seem to like seeding future arcs early, I felt similar about the vees and especially vox in season 1, there was this big setup for a conflict between him and alastor in episode 2 and then it went nowhere until season 2. I'm sure Lute will play a larger role in season 3, but it's a shame we didn't get more here. (ditto for Lillith, and it's interesting that eve hasn't been mentioned in any fashion, at least roo is being hinted at with the eyes) And I mean...rosie is probably one or more of the three, but I guess we'll see in 2027-ish.

Someday Sera

*rewatching it a few hours later I've softened a bit, it's not what I wanted, but watching without those expectations lets me appreciate it for what it is, and that final song sequence is beautiful. (and I NEED to know more about Nifty, even more so now)

Someday Sera

For sure, back in season 1 a reactor (can't recall who) pointed out that when Lucifer meets Vaggi he very clearly quickly glances above her head and reaches out as if to check for a halo. Rewatching s1e5 now and looking at that it's very clear he recognizes her to be an angel the instant they meet.

ASPDroid

Alastor's deal being with Rosie IS a big plot point. It's telling us that Rosie's a much bigger player than we thought. Theories made out of vanishingly little actual evidence being wrong isn't a problem with the show, you just overinvested in a theory. Also, calling Alastor using the favor to escape his own deal is not exactly "being thrown away". That's IMMENSE for him.

ASPDroid

There really wasn't room in one season for a second major antagonist.

BGTitan

Yeah. I know. It's just that Lute was hinted at being a problem at the end of Season 1. And then at the beginning of season 2, they're like oh boy she's gonna be a big problem.... and then meh. I understand set up for future seasons, I understand they don't have the time or episodes, I just wanted more from her even if she didn't make any big moves. We got her in episode two, then she shows up and lurks in episode 5, and then she's easily neutralized in the finale. I'm not mad at the writing cuz I get it, Vox was the focus (if anything I blame Amazon for the frickin eight episode run time because frick me I hate when streaming services do that crap). I'm just impatient and greedy and want more you know?

Omegon

I cant say I share the sentiment. for me, S2 has been a big step up in quality overall. The pacing was much better, amazing songs, loved Vox as the main villain, the overall season plot was good. good twists and turns too. 8/10.

Angelus Lupus

I don't know about everyone else, but I really don't want the twist of "Charlie's mum is really someone else" whether it's someone pretending to be her in heaven, or she's in Rosie in disguise. Because that takes her from 'absent Mother' to 'lying to Charlie's face'

Stephen Mumford

I can agree with some parts -- I felt the first half of the season was pretty lackluster, and I really didn't like Rosie's reveal. Not because of other theories, but rather that it was internally inconsistent with how we've been shown stuff so far. Pretty much by definition, as a sinner demon, Rosie can't grant power to Alastor to make him the most powerful sinner in all hell, because that would make him more powerful than SHE is. Which of course means that Rosie is therefore not a sinner (as we had been led to believe), and something altogether MORE. Which is fine, but the whole reveal, to me, had a certain Deus Ex Machina vibe to it. We shall see in coming seasons. I also wasn't thrilled with Alastor's deals and how they came together, as I was hoping there'd be some elaborate-interwoven plot at a point later on where all his deals would all slot together like a massive jigsaw puzzle and which would set him up to be the Big Bad Guy or something along those lines, and while this was okay, it was more of two convenient opportunities that dovetailed almost by accident, and not any real interwoven scheme. Of course, as mentioned by others, a lot of that disappointment is just headcanon which doesn't end up being as hoped for, but I acknowledge that. That said, I think they did an amazing job in the back half. Vox was truly a terrifying villain once he was in his element (although I think we all groaned at his sloppiness when he made the obviously-loopholed deal with Alastor), and the final episode was jam-packed with amazing pacing, fights, twists and such. I was unsure whether I'd continue watching after Episode 4 dropped, but am still glad I stuck around. I'm just hoping they don't let the handful of potential internally-contradictory stuff just fall to the wayside and address potential plotholes later on.

Stephen Mumford

I _really_ hope Rosie doesn't turn out to be Lilith, as there are, IMHO, too many internal inconsistencies for that to be a satisfactory 'twist.' I do, however, kind of like the idea of her being Eve, hiding in Hell under an assumed identity. That WOULD explain why she is more powerful than any human Sinner demon (but not TOO powerful to the point of creating other worldbuilding problems), and Eve IS a character who—unlike Roo—/has/ been mentioned before in-universe... yet we know very little about her, which means she's more of a blank slate and could be more easily worked into the backstory with fewer problems.

Jittercritter

Agreed. People people mentioning this Roo person and I’m like tf are y’all on about lol I’m assuming they were mentioned in a stream or something?

Jittercritter

This season felt like a huge step up from season 1 in almost every way to me, I was super engaged almost the whole time and laughed out loud multiple times. The animation was killer, the songs were catchy, I was super invested in multiple characters, it was just great! Loved it

Jittercritter

I think it’s possible that Rosie is Eve or an ex exorcist like Vaggie given her conversation with Charlie in season 1. I feel like they’re setting up Rosie to be someone major and I agree the neck thing looks very much like the exorcist uniform. But I don’t really like the idea of her being Lilith

stvpett

I'm unclear whether whatever deal Rosie made with Alastor towards the end of the episode is ongoing like his former deal. Or maybe she just agreed to his request from earlier in the series to repair his staff. He was holding out his staff to her so it might have been that, or it could be a full reversal so now Rosie is "chained"

bloodyshadow1

personally I think rosie isn't lilth, I think she's Eve. There's no reason for teasing us with lilth in heaven, she's called lilith by name, there's no reason for a fake out when you can just not show her. But her being Eve would make sense if she was the thorn in the Garden of Eden. It would make sense given how powerful she is but also for Charli to not know her, if she's the one who committed the original sin (though that gets muddied with Lilth's in universe lore)

Stephen Mumford

Yeah, Viv apparently mentioned her and provided a doodle of her all the way back in '19, but she was referenced as a character who would be a long time before we'd see her, and we've gotten absolutely zero reference or mention of her in the show so far. As of last month, however, her voice actin g has been recorded, so we'll probably see her in Season 4 (?).

Ryan

I, too, was waiting with bated breath for Vox to lay his hands on Charlie. And they teased us with it all episode... Alastor's plan is so shockingly simple and it worked so well. Semantics. It's always semantics. The epic sweeping camera move during the finale is Viv's way of personally apologizing to you for Mission: Weeaboo-boo. And then Angel Dust going back to Val is her kicking you in the box after getting you all excited. --- Mosco: "NOT IN FRONT OF MY PUSSY!" Oh, to be a fly on your neighbor's wall during some of your more feral reactions. --- Have fun at Elijah's! Clean her desk! Clean her desk! Clean her desk!

Blackmyth

46:20 who is rue?

pb-owls

I really, really think Rosie was like Adam. Maybe not Eve or Lilith but… something else from the Bible???? Or she’s actually Lilith I mean you’ve been right more times than not lmao. Also!!! I think their deal was just to fix his staff.

Vegvisir92

pretty sure it was shown before this episode that Lucifer was underneath the cannon and not actually part of it....might've been a better reaction to the final song if you'd actually seen that

Arcanity

A character Viv showed concept art for in 2019 and fans have wildly speculated about in the intervening years but all that’s really known is that her name is Roo.

Jay Turner

Could Rosie be the exorcist angel we saw in vaggis flashbacks from in carmillas factory??

KriszGamer00

Any character shows any small resemblence to another character. Helluva community: *Dicaprio pointing meme* Mosco: I connected the dots. Viewers: You didn't connect sh*t. Mosco: I CONNECTED THE DOTS!

Jonathan VN.

I'm still Surprised, you didn't Realize it was Only the Cannon not the power chamber Underneath that was Destroyed by their Powers! 😉😉🫶

stvpett

Did anyone notice that Vox and Adam basically ended in similar ways. I mean they basically both ended unexpectedly after committing the exact same sin. One that Lucifer skirted but never actually committed. Adam basically said "You should all be worshipping me" implying he was a god and immediately died. Just before Vox had is head ripped off by Val he said "I'm a f***ing god." Boom done. Whereas when Lucifer was showing off he quite particularly said "I'm nearly a god" instead of he is one.

Lady Grace Ellen

The deal I think was "Fix my staff and I will help them"

RoseMetal

I really don't think there is a connection between Roo and Eve or Lilith. Both of them were humans in the garden of eden, and Roo implied to predate Lucifer even like the sins of the other rings. Also the eyes thing, I'm pretty sure it was stated that dead sinners killed by angelic weapons who don't ascend basically become part of hell, the essence of what they were becomes eyes and such.

Reaper Scythe

And if they can, is the contract still valid? Could a demon own an angel's soul?

Robert Morgan

I remember many years ago I was watching something on Disney where this guy got to go behind the scenes at the Disney Animation Studio in like the 80s. He got to see how the artists did the frame by frame, hand-drawn pictures for some of the simpler cartoons. I can't imagine, with how many FPS are used in animation now, it's gotten any less intense or time consuming, even with the years of animation technological improvements there have been.
