Fun Fact: Mark actually did meet the real Spider-Man in the comics with a crossover. Amazon couldn’t get the rights to the character so they created Agent Spider in this episode and got Josh Keaton to voice him who voiced Spidey in the Spectacular Spider-Man show. The reason why Mark came back with web attached to him is because Spider-Man wanted to help Mark with his situation after Mark told him his predicament but sadly the portal closed before Spider-Man could get through. So Spidey almost got through like you thought initially.

This might be the most tense episode in the entire series for me. Sure Angstrom isn't the strongest villain Mark fights, the world or galaxy isn't at stake, and this is far from the worst the gore and violence gets int he show. But having Debbie and Oliver there in the mix, with Oliver crying etc, just makes the danger and tension feel so more grounded than the typical super hero fights.

Its impossible to rrason with Levi. During the memory transfer the Maulers used a chip to protect his mind from thinking his variants' memories are his own. Thst chip got damaged during the transfer. Every memory he got of Invincible harming him feels as real as his own memories. He's basically suffering extreme brain damage that changed his personality. Interesting topic to overthink

Moral wise killing Angstorm was self defense. I still fully get the guilt and I worry about someone who can do that without guilt but the type of threat he was needed it He held himself in a physical fight with Mark for a good amount of time and threatened his family and went to extreme lengths for this. Thats the type of fight where you keep punching until he stops moving. You just aren't safe until then. This will be very different if this was in cold blood.

When people say season 2 is the weakest of the show, there are a couple of factors that may have caused it. First the show killed it's momentum halfway through the season when they took a mid season break for a couple of months. But I think the main reason is that plot wise, this season and part of the comics didn't have the big it that season 1 had with the tense moments with Nolan. Season 3 onwards does it on track with it's writing and interesting plot lines but some would argue that the animation took a big hit. I would very much like to hear your opinions when you get to those last two seasons.

Not sure, but judging on what I've seen, she had some issues with the writing of Ducktales and Harley Quinn from time to time, and probably Dragon Prince too.

Funny thing about Debby, she actually was a really badly written character in the comics. Like, really bad. She was just "Mark's mom", when Nolan beat Mark she just keep crying.. because her husband left, even unleash on Mark for forcing his father to "go". She was terrible.. and Kirkman knew it, he actually said how he did Debby wrong, and that the animated show was his way to correct things he did badly in the comics. Debby became one of the best character in the show because of this too. And for Mark being bad in most dimension, one of the theory is that.. most of the other "good" Mark get killed by Nolan when they refuse to join the Viltrum empire. So why Levy only remember the bad ones

Personally, I think murder was fully justified in this instance! Given Angstrom's power set, this was self defence. There is no prison that could hold this guy. And he was beyond reason. But of course, yeah, I get that Mark's worried more about "losing control". This means more to him than the single action itself, it's about his identity as a hero and fear of becoming his dad.

Imagine if Invincible DID have that kind of budget.. what would *that* look like? -Time travel and AU stuff can be so much fun. :) I love using it in my superhero RPGs for stuff like this. -The writing is really good. Not 'for a superhero show' or 'for an animated show', it's really good, period. -I commented as much to Mortius, but between him and the score and you and the visuals, you two could totally do a media course. :) -Eh, to be fair, I thought it and expected Allen to say it, like "What's High School?" -Hey, we got the whole outro! The end was cut off a couple times :)

Can’t wait for next season when great friend and ally Carl Quest is introduced. The scene with him and Mark on the beach is so emotional, he really helps Mark and Eve reach their true potential, he even helps Oliver grow. Just an all around great man 😁😁

I think I've said this every episode you've brought it up. But the GDA has therapists, Cecils has offered them two or three times now, none of the supes are accepting the help. Also Cecil isn't making it black and white, he's doing the exact opposite. Mark thinks he's going bad because he killed someone and killing is bad. That's making things black and white. Cecil is trying to tell him that sometimes killing is okay and sometimes even necessary.

Y’know, I wanted to explain away Cecil not offering Mark therapy, but given that Cecil mentions therapy very specifically later in the series (hope that’s not too much of a spoiler), I really can’t think of anything better than it being lumped in with his offers to Mark and Debbie about needing anything. Also, I’m pretty sure that future Robot is meant to be actual Rex as opposed to Rudy (present Robot) who is inhabiting the cloned body of Rex. Isn’t the world of super science fun? :D

Yeah both of those shows are pretty inconsistent with the writing quality, though I unfortunately disagree with Mosco saying RWBY's writing quality is up there like RWBY's writing is quite good at points but up there with this and Arcane S1 ehhh nah. RWBY has shown to be inconsistent and has had writing blunders like most of V5. Invincible def more consistent quality.

The zombie universe is a tribute to The Walking Dead, which was also created by Robert Kirkman. also, excellent breakdown of how this show lets you sit and process the trauma with the characters instead of skipping through it. This will continue to happen as trauma builds across the board. Giving the emotions time to breathe is one of the things that sets this show apart from others. There is one episode in s4 that is worse than all of s2. I'm so glad you are continuing this series. Can't wait for the next season.

The thing about Angstrom is that he isn't stupid, he's insane, and that's the entire problem. He's no longer sane, he literally can't use logic because his brain is far too damaged, but he's unfortunately still pretty good at strategizing so he's difficult to fully stop (for Mark specifically because Mark very much has a high EQ, but he's kind of a himbo). I just realized that I think this is the most we've seen Cecil actually touch anyone. He immediately knelt beside Debbie and cradled both her and Oliver, I don't think we've seen him provide anyone with any physical comfort let alone semi-protection like he does for her here. I love it, it's such a small way to show how much Cecil really does care about their family, even if he's usually a complete dick about showing it.

out of all the gorey scenes in Invincible seeing Debbie's arm broken like that is the one that was the worst for me. Which is subjective I know there's stuff that others would considered to be worse but just the fact that it was Debbie is what really got me

And I watched S3 (mainly the finale) without any TRUE discust (like most people) so much so I literally went "Okay, this is bad but I am getting used to gore like this" (from this show and VM and MN)... When that episode from S4 happened I reducted that statement

Arcane s2 (Seaon 1 was the best writing I've ever seen in media). Some of the more episodic (clearly Disneyfied) episodes of The Owl House and Gravity Falls. Ducktales only had like 5 episodes I'd rewatch out of 3 seasons. Wasn't a fan of portions of Harley Quinn, Hilda, some of Helluva and Hazbin get on my nerves. I'm actually PRETTY critical of a LOT of shows. I consider Invincible and RWBY to be two of the BEST written shows I've reacted to on my channel, with Steven Universe and She-Ra coming in behind them.

Her calling Robot "Rex" was a reference to a future plotline where a bunch of Rudy's clones turn evil and try to kill and replace him. He manages to stop them all, except for one clone who sneaks away and steals Rex's identity.

Those feelings are hard to place. I've enjoyed the blissful insignificance of city life. To look up at a thousand lit up rectangles, behind which are lives, triumphs, tragedies, and machinations you'll never know. I've also known the solitude of being miles from anything. The projected incandescence of tiny metal filaments in glass replaced by the light of stars perhaps long dead. That feeling of being small and unimportant in the grand scheme of things really puts life in perspective. It's... gorgeous.

Second comment oops The Maulers explained before when they figured Angstrom's power out that he can only create portals to the same location in other dimensions. It was why he had to find one with a massive crater in the right spot to break them out of an underground prison. Therefore the implication is that every planet he portals to is earth in a different dimension. The fact that the dinosaurs could talk and mentioned sapiens being extinct I'm pretty sure indirectly confirms that it's also the same time (the "present") in each of those dimensions, whatever that means for that particular dimension.

Don't know if you caught the significance of the ducks. Korean wedding ducks are traditional gifts symbolizing fidelity and love. They are typically presented during wedding ceremonies and represent a heartfelt pledge between the bride and groom. The ducks are believed to be monogamous, which is why they are associated with loyalty in marriage. The ducks were usually facing each other but a couple of episodes ago, Debbie turned them away from each other. I think it was right before Art came to talk to her.
