My interpretation of Pinkie forgetting her own party is very much The Cobbler's Children Have No Shoes; working so hard to help others she forgets to help herself. Also, it's mentioned that Gummy is turning 1 year old, so my guess is that she got way more hyper focused on him than herself. While I'm not extroverted in the slightest, I AM a catastrophizing people pleaser, so I can definitely identify with Pinkie's immediate worst-case-scenario assumptions. (Also, I love how she wholeheartedly believes That RD and Flutter are housesitting for a bear, but thinks the OTHER excuses are suspicious!)

To be fair to Rarity, I think we can safely assume that Spike offers to do a lot of things for her without her ever asking. :p Rainbow’s mane was connected at around 17:50, that’s just her other wing. ;) The first party was Gummy’s birthday party. The one she TRIED to invite everyone to the next day was ”Gummy’s After-Birthday Party”. :)

This was the 1st episode i watched back in college in 2018, and i can assure you it instantly make me said: this show isnt for kids, or at least it has stuff on it that isnt meant for kids to understand it yet... whoch was a new to me back then Lauren Faust really changed how tvshows worked since then, mlp broke the stereotype of colorful shows being for little kids, specially little girls, she said "this is an all family show, kids can watch it, but the main public is everyone, not just kids" ao she added stuff in it that sometimes only adults would relate or understand the joke, not because is naughty but because it needs more comprehension or experince in life or maybe is a reference to something old that kids dont know about, sometimes is even reference to irl stuff that kids dont understand, like taxes or shopping Party of one show us depression and psychosis as it is, kids would see it just funny, but adults would see this and say: cover the kids eyes The people with the biggest smiles are often the people struggling the most inside

Back before I started watching the show, I'd seen various images, and I thought the straight-hair pink pony was a different character from the curly-haired pink pony. Did the same thing with Game of Thrones, thinking Danerys and Khaleesi were two different people (maybe mother and daughter, given the resemblance) before really watching it.

So, I can explain the animation glitches a bit. The show was animated in Adobe Flash, all the parts of the characters are mostly just assets that they place on them and moved around. Its also why a lot of the more subtle animations, like hair movement and walking animations, are so consistent and fluid.

Standard extrovert crashout when they realize the world doesn't revolve around them. For me, this episode cemented Pinkie as the worst pony. Until a worse one shows up, but that's after the clones and super sentai pony's show up. You're so not ready for the five legendary armored pony's that combine into one super pony.

This is episode of season I've been waiting for. (Yes I became a member for this) This is the episode that cemented Pinkie pie as my favorite. I wouldn't realize until I was well in high school but I share a lot similarities with her in wanting to other happy but when think I've made someone mad or upset I tend to spiral about how I did (Tho not as deep as Pinkie here). I can't wait you to see more side of Pinkie... Also Pinkamena Diane Pie is very popular in the fanfiction scene, mostly horror stuff tho...

Honestly, I've never questioned it, but you make a fair point. If I had to hazard a guess, it probably stems in part from Pinkamena being her real name and presumably what she went by until she left the farm and the straight haired look here matches how she looked then.

I love Pinkie Pie. I've loved her from the start, with her entire goal in life to bring laughter and joy to others (like I was aiming and have done as well). But this episode solidified her to be my absolute favorite. It showed the cracks that her floofy hair hides and how those who smile and try to get others to smile the most probably are hiding some deep wounds themselves (another aspect I share with her, though I've managed to heal some of the wounds.)

I get the lesson is you shouldn’t assume the worst but the fact they were all clearly lying to her makes that hard, so I feel like if at least one or two of them could’ve kept her busy instead of all of them sneaking around her, she wouldn’t have assumed they were intentionally leaving her out

It's always important to be reminded of the effort and personal cost it takes to do stuff like this. Fair enough, when explained like that it's a lot more personable and sounds like an actual concern, I will apologize as due to my experience with other reactors I've seen saying similar things it kind of gave a bad taste in my mouth compared to the "YTers from my childhood that didn't seem so needy". But I'll admit, that was unfair of me, and you have very very good reasons to set your goal in actuality, especially when it involves paying the people you work with/friends their due. Very very fair. Also yeah this is a pretty monumental episode, if you ever get around to exploring the fandom itself you'll learn just how influential it really is. I'll not reveal anything though.
