The Shut-in: me vs near 100 degree weather.

Jared Bichler

Little Pot is very strict about his schedule. No one gets extra time.

Jared Bichler

"Did you at least pay him?" Don't worry, they'll see each other again...

Michael W

The Shut In: Mosco: It’s a bit creepy. Me: You have no idea. Polly wanted that flame thrower. Anne: It’s totally a holiday. Sprig and Anne should just be BFFs. Twig and Anna might be a different story. The video seems to be a play The Ring or The Grudge Just a reminder that Amphibia can be just as horrific as TOH. How is Anna able to dislike something more than once. Don’t worry it’s just boba. 2nd one reminds me of the movie Collateral where a hit man forces a taxi driver to drive him to kill people. George Takei has to get an oh my in there. At least he didn’t do Death’s Whistle in Puss in Boots. Polly keeps trying hard. Sprig got even more smitten with Ivy after seeing her hair. Glass frogs are real. They only live in caves since the sun would fry them. Sprig and Ivy are trolls. Polly is unbothered. “Definitely not a holiday!” Changed your tune huh Anne. The end credits: WTF Matt.

This show really goes all out with the horrific imagery lmao

RaisedEyebrow

New favorite Mosco faces at 26:35!

I keep forgetting that even this episode gets a small callback later in the series lol

"The Shut-In" Ah, a Fall classic. Anthology of Horror! Tales to chill your bones! Polly feels left out. So she seeks her own nightmare. Not canon, at least. -Huzzah for all things spooky! And on the first weekend in September no less! -Between this and last week's offering, you can see that Matt knows how to hit the horror notes. -Again we find ourselves asking: "Did Hop Pop kill a guy?" -Mr. Littlepot sounds familiar! Oh my! -A frog that steals the skin of other frogs to stitch into a frogskin suit. We're sure this is a kid's show, right? -The Anne and Sprig skeletons during the end credits. Can't believe they got away with that either! They should have put a warning up before the episode started!

Michael W

“They should have put up a warning before the episode started!” Oh please. As if Disney would allow an episode that needed a warning.

Awesome! 👍👍😀🛹🛹🛹🔥🔥🔥🔥

Rixec2

Just wait until you learn the end credits are foreshadowing Anne and Sprig's fates at the end of season 2 when they go cliff jumping.

Matt Braly must really enjoy traumatizing his audience

Michael W

That’s underselling it by a fair margin.

Michael W

But who will be doing the collecting?

Annabella

Had this show been around when I was little, I just know Hop Pop's story would've traumatized me

ShadowLightMew

To me, this episode is canon, no matter what they say

ArcticBanana

Even before this episode aired, Matt Braly confirmed that it's non-canon, making it the *only* non-canon episode in the series. This episode and the other holiday episode "Froggy Little Christmas" are left out of Disney XD marathons because of their holiday themes. The Screen Fiend emerging from the phone is a reference to "The Ring", and the babies hatching from the boba eggs might be a reference to the Gremlins emerging from the cocoon. Mr. Littlepot's (voiced by the fabulous George Takei) appearance is very reminiscent of Mr. Dark in the 1983 Disney film adaptation of Ray Bradbury's horror novel "Something Wicked This Way Comes". The Seamstress (voiced by Matt Braly himself) is thought to be a possible reference to Leatherface from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

DiamondDawg

I hear Matt says this ep is non canon but honestly outside the ending bit this ep easily fits right in with the series whether it'd be taking place in S1 or still fits in after Return to Wartwood.

Sam

i get sick of people saying this ep isn't canon, like Anne's story is probably an internet story she made up, but i have no reason to think it isnt otherwise

xattygt

Yea them letting anne be a skeleton for the end credits is the most impressive thing they got away with in the entire series and there definitely wont be anything later on in the series that more impressive than that 🗡🔥

Yoy Man

I recently started subscribing to your Patreon and can I just say that your reactions and the way you break down and learn the story is so enjoyable and fun to watch. Also I understand thwt your schedule is probably really busy but if in the future could you react to the movie Mune Guardian of the Moon. It’s such a beautifully animated and designed movie with a very interesting story and cool character growth. I think you would really enjoy it ☺️

Julio Castillo

I mean... the fact that he's making a Gothic Horror mini-series now.... kinda confirms it.

Brendon J. Dube

Matt says it's not canon, so it's not canon. it's okay if you have your own personal head canon, but it's a little weird that you're "sick of people" pointing out an innocuous fact.

Michael W

That’s been July and August where I am.

Michael W

Don’t you put that evil on him Ricky Bobby!

The Wolf of Chaos

Oh, I remember Burke and Hare. They’re so prominent they try to kill you in the Edinburgh Dungeon, in one of the scary rooms or the dark history of the city
