OH I DID NOT EXPECT THIS! Let’s goooo!!!

Taigan

Oh geeze. Now I have to decide if I’m gonna watch the movie on my own first or just watch your review right away.

Wilo

Will you be watching seven havens??

Suplee215

Glad to see this. Movie is extremely good although a little lacking in character and world development for me. I felt loke ot needed 2 movies to fully cover things like the non bender group ad the empowering people with bending. I felt like those jdeas got covered better in Korra and needed tome to make them stand out in this era or to feel like theyre building into them

Wilo

We saw the first avatar in Korra

THIS IS GOING TO BE GOLD!! And I need popcorn for this! I look forward to Mosco analysing every beautiful frame! Also feeling nostalgic seeing this outfit, love the beanie and hoodie!!

jack

I get the criticism for Taga being so powerful but if he wasn’t you have the opposite argument of you have the top 3 best benders/ Sokka one of the best non benders and the Avatar. That if you don’t have a powerful villian there’s gonna be no stakes.

Vendetta

Katara is the best. I wonder why fans undermine her so much.

supersoaker

14:10 - 16:26 the redeemed girl's weapon is called a rope dart, basically a rope with a spike on the end. There's another variation called the meteor hammer which has a metal weight instead of a spike. The channel InstructorBensei, who specialises in meteor hammer had high love and praise for the choreography of it.

SauceyRed

Considering she made a new Patreon collection called "Avatar: Seven Havens (+Movies)", I think that's a safe bet EDIT: Also at around 3:40 she says she will

Suplee215

Quick thing about Appa, that nod he did was because Tagah used the staff to control him against his will

Yoshinatorsaurus

It's such a shame that Paramount and the leakers had to screw this over so badly. It deserves a proper theatrical release. Everyone in the Gaang looks great! (Especially Toph.) It's like they never left.

Matt’s wrld

The reason Appa went with Taga is because it was that or Taga would have killed him

DieWinterkirsche

To be fair Team Avatar never had fought an Air-Bender before... :D

Nik(goggledogs)

A couple things: Katara is the absolute unsung hero of the movie. Also, I absolutely love how whenever you get to a part of the animation or fight choreography you like, you gush about RWBY. ❤️🤍🖤💛 Another thing, it's so insane how many Korra callbacks are in this movie as well as ATLA! It's really a great indicator that the lore for both series is so essential going forward. ❤️

therewashuman

Katara can only blood bend when full moon

Deco the Artist

That is a good meta reason. In-universe, I see it as being a matter of nobody on Team Avatar being used to fighting a top-tier airbender who's going for the kill. Zuko comes the closest, but Aang was a relatively inexperienced kid at the time (like he says in this movie, there is a lot he could learn from Tagah), and he was almost always more concerned with escaping than actually standing and fighting. Nobody, including Aang, has ever seen an airbender who's also a hardened warrior until Tagah showed his hand - and the air bullets that came out of it.

Wee Lass Reacts

Yeah I'm going to give it a chance, if it performs poorly I'll pull it from Youtube and Patreon and just watch it on my own.

I’m here for the gushing of the backgrounds!

iCommentToPlay

I’m here for Mosco gushing the art, the details, the backgrounds and camera angles! THIS MOVIE IS GODDAMN GORGEOUS!! 14:41- We have transformed into RD2 sounds of enjoyment!!

RavenFairy

Fun fact the location art that the Bison were found was based on old Monk burial site.

iCommentToPlay

Funfact for Mosco - the VA for Zuko in the movie is the same VA for Invincible!! Mr Steven Yeun!!

2026-09-27 12:00 I give all my praise to the animators, storyboarders and artists who worked on this film. But the writing.... The plot of this movie is basically just Korra's Season 2 but more compressed. They definitely went for a "Spectacle over Substance" route with the story. I understand the decision given that this was supposed to be a triumphant return in Theaters... but i still wish they gave as much care for the plot as they did the visuals.

Mosco, you are definitely disremembering Toph's personality... while she was amazingly written... she was also by far the most simple character out of all the members of Team Avatar. And also... did you forget that in the original series she had a crush on both Sokka and Zuko?... she has always being portrayed as being very interested in boys she considers cool, in fact... her interest in men has most likely gotten worse as she grew older. So her fascination with Tagah is not surprising. And yes, i know her character wasn't only her interest in men.... but this is a movie (and not a long one), one that aside from juggling old and new characters... does not revolve around her, so i think it's understandable why she was compressed to one note for most of the film.

Paramount cannot stop fumbling 😞, this is a gold mine and they can't even see it

Jared Bichler

Zaheer would start a fan club for Taga.

Jared Bichler

I noticed there are only 3 Lion Turtles. Shouldn't there be 4?

Jared Bichler

If I were The Denied, I'd search both myth and history of the physical and spirit worlds for anything to get the bending I was robbed of at birth. Such a search would eventually lead to the Lion Turtles and to the legendary Avatar rumored to have channeled said abilities.

Jared Bichler

I noticed the leader of The Denied is a yuan archer.

Dooba Dooba

So she has no idea who screwed it up yet she is throwing blame? I dont get it

Dooba Dooba

Yeah. Hes a warrior with a non-modern fighting style, the only person the gang would of trained with is a Monk. If it was earthbenders and Toph, they wouldnt stand a chance

Michelle

Idk if you have watched legend of Korra or not but if not it might be a good idea to watch that before watching 7 havens

Dooba Dooba

Zuko is unable to generate his own lightning, and Katara cant blood bend without a full moon, there isnt any metal for toph. What makes them among the best isnt available, they then are very high level benders

Dooba Dooba

Spoilers fyi, she hasn't seen it yet

Sarvis

Something I think it's easy to overlook is how deadly an airbender really is. We see their attacks as a quirk of animation, but in-universe, all of those attacks are likely invisible. It makes them difficult to predict and avoid unless you know what each movement is likely to produce. And when there haven't been Airbenders in over 100 years, even that knowledge is probably mostly lost. Team Avatar has probably sparred against Aang, but they've never fought an airbender with an even more ancient style trying to kill them.

bearMathilde

Zuko is marks va btw (from invincible)

Mason Gamble

Have you seen The Legend of Korra? There's some context and payoffs in this movie that would probably make more sense.

Julio Castillo

We don't know much about the Lion Turtles. there could be more than just 4... or maybe they are just 4 and the one who isn't dead is the one that Aang encountered at the end of Book 3.

Joshua Gammampila

They need to make that Zuko movie with more Suki and include Azula, Mai and Ty Lee. Along with finally introducing us to Kiyi.

I-Superpanda-I

My opinion of this movie is really soured on how the paramount and online drama was. Overall I thought the movie was perfectly fine. I didn’t like it nearly as much as the original. But it was fine

I-Superpanda-I

I will say this movie is completely gorgeous

I-Superpanda-I

Yeah watching this again there is some serious issues with the story but god damn this movie is so fucking pretty….

Taigan

From the moment we saw Tagah, I had a pretty good idea what his story arc was gonna be. 1 because he’s never mentioned in Korra so nothing here was gonna bring back airbenders. But 2, because he was giving very strong Bismuth from Steven Universe vibes. Power “friend” of former leader mysteriously locked away in a way only the avatar could have done? Talks about the need to fight for their people? Easily liked by everyone?

Angelus Lupus

Finally catching up on this before diving into Seven Havens - Damn I love the deep-dives into lighting, camera-work and framing. The shout-outs to the background art is well deserved; 'love' really does make a difference! There's a reason I've got several desktop wallpapers of ATLA and LOK scenic paintings (and I'll probably be adding some from here, too!)

Amaya

I still feel that she should watch at least the first two seasons of Korra before fully diving into seven havens.
