From a personal relationship point if view, Jae is for sure in the wrong for reading the diary. From a investigation point, I think theres enough evidence to justify it.

slavicandsapphic

I love how everyone has an “OH FUCK” moment to the Zaheer move. That being said, Molin was abt to drop the girls whole look on main, and Karthik has proven time and time again he will do anything for the Avatars. I really wonder if we’re being set up for his death to spur them on their journey. Idk i think id enjoy that more than him being the twist villain and bro has more red flags than a communist parade so SOMETHINGS gotta happen with him 💀

Nik(goggledogs)

Throwing this out there.. Akasha loosely can mean aether or space, which is the fifth element, preceding air, fire, water and earth.

Liam Gradwell

Well, Korrasami got an onscreen kiss at least. Sort off? 🌈

Lonely Pancake

I feel like we should keep an eye on when Jae lies and rubs/itches his ear since we know that's a tell of him lying

Elias Cristerna

19:02 I'm pretty sure that their secret handshake is inspired by the one often preformed by antother pair of famous twins from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

Jared Bichler

I love Pavi making the dolls kiss.

Jared Bichler

19:16 It's so cute, they've already got their own little twin world.

Jared Bichler

Where the Hell did the captain pick up Zahreer's technique?

Jared Bichler

The note said the Avatar was in Ellora, but Nisha was found in the Harshlands.

Jared Bichler

Why would Pavi's parents message the captain? Either they knew he was in the White Lotus, or they were trying to get rid of Nisha, but then why not go to the Chancellor?

Phoenix_mercury

Yeah, I get why people have/had a 👀 reaction but Karthik usually zaheers move makes sense. He needed to silence him not just disarm him, it's harmless for the few *seconds* it was used/needed and it stopped the secret getting out, it was a smart idea of him, also just kinda cool getting that brought up again 🤷

Phoenix_mercury

Yeah, if 0 suspected info: fk no going through a diary(unless specifically concerned about safety). If genuine suspicion and building evidence(similar to in korra with that one guy): yes going through a diary when theirs others that have safety at risk

Suplee215

Yea. He already saw the blue ink, connected jt to it and he was around and with protests abkut the topic at end. Certainly probable cause there

Taigan

Can I just say one issue I’m having with this new series is how Pavi and Nisha just *know* how to bend all four elements? At age 10?! At 12, Aang could only bend air unless he was in the Avatar State. At 17, Korra still couldn’t airbend. They had to *learn* how. But somehow these two can do all four? They need practice, but they can at least DO each form of bending already. It’s especially notable for Pavi who (we assume) received no training. Even if they were trained before their amnesia, it’s weird they got all four elements so fast.

Catradora fan

PTSD with the Zaheer move 😬😬

BGTitan

The Korrasami figures getting an onscreen kiss before the actual Korrasami is such a tease! Now give us a flashback where they kiss Bryke! Don't taunt us! lol No but seriously I really want flashbacks with Korra like what we got with Aang back in LOK. Not even purely for lore on the whole cataclysm thing, but just to see her and Asami again! Asami was my favorite character and Korra was right there with her, gimme!

Iago24

It's not just Zaheer move, though. It was implied in the original series that monk Gyatso killed a whole bunch of Fire Nation soldiers the same way.

Phoenix_mercury

natural earth(from what karthik said), they had water in the flashback, nisha picked up air and fire with being trained by karthik and pavi out of survival

Phoenix_mercury

yeah he absolutely had probable cause plus his required duty to protect the girls at any cost(the same way i dont fault karthik for air bending on molin, he needed to not just be disarmed but to be stfu immediately, if he'd held it? id be side eyeing him but it was literally just long enough to shut him up and cuff him)

Suplee215

The argument around needing to keep the avatar a secret ad protected i think is more open ended. Always pros and cons to whether the truth is better or worse for society. That said, that method of restraint is pretty darn effective at stopping an active threat without being lethal most of the time. If you are going hold someone at blade point then yea you get what you get. Without even mentioning the avatar thats a justified use of force to save a life.

Lichen

Yooo I thought I vaguely recognized that word but hadn’t had time to dig deeper yet! Veeery interesting

Lichen

Irt the Karthik disclosing the full truth to Nisha dilemma, I wonder how much semantic memory she had at that time in addition to the lost episodic memory... If I was up against the prospect of having to explain to a 6 or 7yr old what parents are right before telling her that hers gave her up (which I do expect was well-intentioned), I’d probably also wait a bit with zero intention of keeping it a secret forever.

bbillyk

I don't think it's exactly hard for any airbender to do, just "Real" airbenders would never do it except in the most extreme possible cases, like Gyatso.
