A sad fact (sorry carlie) but another reason why iron wasn’t speaking this episode was because the previous VA died and the new VA wanted to have like a moment of silence to honour him and didn’t voice him in these episodes. It also makes sense to the plot that he doesn’t speak to zuko but it’s also another sad fact😞

Book 3 hype! We get our first good look at Ozai, voiced by Mark Hamil (aka Luke Skywalker). Zuko has returned home, and his honour is restored? Aang thinks that he has to regain his honour after losing, quite the role reversal. The Maiko ship is in full flow (Carlie doesn't seem happy about that).

Just some clarification about aang so whenever he got struck by azula's lightning he did die in that moment but katara healed him and revived aang back to life with the spirit oasis water that master pakku gave her as a gift in the first episode of book 2 hope this helps

The tongue thing is creepy, and spoiler be damned. He still has his tongue. He is pissed off is what it is, and May and Zuko were probaby childhood friends that liked each other before he got banished. The Katara- Zuko ship is the most popular ship in this series.

I always interpreted Iroh's silence at this point of the season is because Iron knows that at this point the only way Zuko is gonna get on the correct path is if he gets there himself. He's been hands on and leading Zuko the last two books, time for him to be hands off for the finish line.

Not really anymore. It's pretty heavily hated these days, which I'm glad about. They have no romantic chemistry. I never saw it as a kid and I feel like anyone who does just REALLY likes the enemies-to-lovers trope a little too much. There's literally no hinting about it until the single scar touch in book 2 lmao.

I interpreted Uncle not talking to Zuko as him frustrated because he has tried again and again with Zuko in book1 and book2, but nothing sunk in so now he needs to figure it out on his own and it hurts him to do it..

In seriousness though, I agree with an above sentiment. I ultimately think Iroh has done what he can, and he probably realizes he can't do anymore for Zuko. For someone like Zuko, who's worldview has been shaped by an incredibly toxic environment, Iroh can only do so much. Zuko's trauma and pain are a part of him and are what guide him down the wrong path. Sometimes with people like this, they ultimately will not change until they make the decision to help themselves. Sometimes that means a person needs to hit rock bottom before they can fully understand the consequences of their actions and decisions.

Mai's side-eye is definitely targeted at Azula not Zuko. I do think though that Azukla's moment on the volcano might be a genuine moment where she really is looking out for Zuko.

there might, just MIGHT be another reason why Mai was side-eying Azula. But I see why you would think that, Ange. This episode is my absolute favorite when it comes to the more laid-back, less plot-driven ones. Aang can be so charming and spirited and fun, when he doesn't have to save the world. Sokka is hysterical, Kataang is beyond cute and 'Cave Jivin' by the Flameo's is straight up fire (pun intended).
