This has nothing to do with my hero but because ange and Carlie hype up haikyu so much I finally decided to start it. (I was thinking of haikyu because bakugo and noya have the same VA lol). Normally sports animes aren’t my thing but I wanted to give it a shot. Either way when I’m caught up I get to start yalls reactions 🙏🏻

Yes!! I’ll be enjoying your reactions for sure 🤩 and you are right, there are tons of characters - meaning there are tons of voice actors you will recognize. Bakugo‘s VA is same as Genya from Demon Slayer, too! And I did have the same reaction towards Bakugo as Carlie and didn’t like him at all in the first couple of seasons.. don’t want to spoil anything, but he’s my favorite character now.🤗

Oh I’m so excited for this. My Hero Academia is one of my favorite series. I have to say the manga is quite good and in some arcs better. The only weak season is probably season 5 because it was being during the pandemic. Something arcs were rushed and others has too much filler.

funny how carlie mentioned how hard must it be for bakugo's VA to be doing all that gritty voice acting because if i recall correctly, he actually had a throat surgery before 😂 (around after season 2 i think)

Lmao this is why I recommended watching episodes 1 and 2 together! 😂😂 Just to go in-depth with the childhood names, Izuku calls Bakugo "Kacchan" because his first name is Katsuki. So, Kat-chan = Kacchan, but Izuku is the only one who dares to call him by such a cute name. On the other hand, Bakugo calls Izuku "Deku" (which is later explained with more impact, so I won't go deeper), but just know that Bakugo calls him that derogatorily. Watching Carlie's terrible first impression of Bakugo is so funny, because since episode 2, he's actually been my favorite MHA character. 😂 I have a feeling that Ange is going to warm up to Bakugo a lot faster than Carlie will. 🤣

Honestly this anime kinda lost me after a few seasons. I loved the first 2, but I feel like I've been watching the more recent seasons just because I've already watched so much of it lol. I'm not saying it's bad, it's definitely a great anime, but something about it just hasn't hit for me since like S2.

It’s not cringe dude, but we all have our perception of it. There are shows that literally have better dialogue in english and sound better. Like, DBZ, MHA and Solo Leveling. Just tired of the constant dick riding of the Japanese from all the reaction channels and all the”you have to watch it in japanese cause its Japanese” people. So annoying

i love dubs for the most part, but MHA is definitely bottom tier awful. Not the acting, I love the funimation actors. But all the roles are miscast besides a few. Deku & Bakugou the most. I agree that some shows like DBZ, FMA etc can have better dubs.

The series did have a sort of a slump after season 4, but it really kicked off again with the latest season. Plus, the manga is 2 chapters or more away from being completed as well.

dub is better than most dubs for my hero, but sub is still better. I think the only time dub is better than sub is for cyberpunk edgerunners, so you can hear giancarlo esposito (Gus) voice acting

Guillermo you said “there are literally shows that have better dialogue in English and sound better” and I’m wondering what your method is for determining that? “Sounding better” is just preference and therefore subjective so your and my opinions are irrelevant. As far as DIALOGUE goes (like, the script itself) it’s almost ALWAYS better in Japanese because that’s the language it was written in. How many times have we seen an English dub turn a badass line of dialogue into an overextended piece of cringe because the VAs have to cram an unnatural number of syllables in to match the lip flaps? SO MANY TIMES. So… all in all, I think it’s just a very objective, no-feelings-attached rule of thumb to follow with most pieces of media: enjoy it in the language it was made in if at all possible.

frankly I don't remember exactly what occurred in S3, it may have been S4 where I started to lose interest. I will say there is something specific that happens in some animes that I don't like and this anime does it quite frequently, but I won't say what it is because it's kind of spoilery.
