I think we've said this before, but we're gon say it again cuz it's never been more applicable: JUST HOW do they make this INSANE idea into a full fledged episode that WORKS.

What can I say, but THANK YOU Vernon for this crazy idea XD

And we got three amazing games to play together and maybe stream XDXD so cast your votes. What was your favourite game, and which game would you want us to try if we ever do?!

With that, the usual stuff! :)

~9:18 Not to correct anything since it's already explained (playing with 'geen' = long and using words that include that) but I'm personally curious why they suddenly played with Mingyu's height XD is there an inside joke or am I too tired and missing something I 100% should know, in which case, apologies XD

~15:05 The exact caption there for Woozi is 1-ta instructor, which is a short for no. 1 star instructor, aka the most popular teacher/instructor (usually) for online courses, measured by how fast their courses get fully registered.

~16:32 The CC's fine, but I just thought the OG caption is quite funny cuz it literally says "ego projection" (or simply projection) XD

~17:00 Same thing here. The literal translation is "in charge of mental health / mentality care" and it just fits Woozi so well lol

~33:23 Leave you alone sounds a bit awkward. It's "you're gon get it / I won't let it slide if you fail here" :)....

~54:44 Instead of realization, I'd say awakening XD as if DK's an anime character who awakens to his true power way later down the road (almost too late). That's what the on-screen text is saying. Belated Awakening, if you will!

Enjoy <3

GoSe team and Seventeen join hands when making fun of Mingyu and they never hold back their punches 😂😂 poor Long Mingyu

Sam sam (Lan zhan)

the super bunny game always takes me out i'm afraid i never grew out of 12 yr old me's humour 😭

krizhe ming

this was a lot of fun. so much laughter on the bunny game. ypu should def try that one! personally, i wanna play the stilt game🤓 super frustrated with the 'pot gentleman' (feel so sorry for the guys who unfortunately got stuck with this) and yes, don't worry, gose 2021 onwards are still great. so much more fun and new stuff awaits your way. you're right, gose 2020 was special and legendary cos it's the start of many contents. and when i say 'many', this is the year that has the most number of episodes. for the next years, there'll be some breaks in between so a bit lesser episodes.

konekochan

they make everything so fun and props to the staff for also adding the little game for snacks! The crockpot and sheep always haunt caratland lmao. Also love Woozi getting so into it, he had so much fun 😂😂 I think long mingyu was from the Kartrider ep where they edited long mingyu to tease him~ for my game choice, the stilt one for me! Seems interesting and I want to see how difficult it really is to do the controls. There's so many legendary episodes to get to in 2020, not to mention 2021 onwards! We havent even reached my favorite ep from gose 2020 yet 🤭🤭 About 2020 being the "peak" season: I think a lot of carats do say its the best of the best, but I'd stretch that to 2020-2021 seasons. And its because *quantity-wise* these seasons do have the most episodes that went viral/are well known inside and outside the fandom. BUT that doesnt mean the future seasons aren't as fun or iconic. I also think it really depends on what you as a viewer prefer on the type of content/concept they do (like some of my personal favorites are the underrated episodes) What I can promise is that the production level gets better and better every year, and they always have something unique to offer. Plus season 2-3 of the series you already know, like Don't Lie, Insomnia Zero and Debate Night, etc

A few others have already said, but I think 2020 gets a lot of hype as the start of some of the best/favourite Going Seventeen series, and just as a whole has possibly the largest number of the most iconic episodes, since they are seen as more "classic" now that it's been a few years. That being said, I feel like the quality does continue to grow in later seasons as they refine concepts and the members become more experienced/comfortable. Even the production/editing levels up because they're able to reference and draw from so much previous content, so you get more inside jokes and running bits across episodes/series. However, I do think as the years go on some of the more recent seasons have had a few misses at least for me personally, but also some of my favourite episodes. So I think there's also an element of 2020 just being more consistently solid, whereas over the years some experimenting has led to a wider range of content that might appeal differently depending on the viewers' tastes.

"Is Going Seventeen 2020 the peak era?" Simple answer: no. Longer answer: Going Seventeen 2020 was probably the most memorable to a lot of people because at the time, because of the COVID quarantine, that's what everyone who got into Seventeen and K-pop in a search of something to do with their time remember the most. It provided weekly entertainment, and it's really funny, so a lot of famous clips are from that time. HOWEVER, it really just gets better. Not to spoil anything, but some recent Going Seventeen 2025 episodes genuinely feel like they should get an emmy for how good they are, so you're in a long treat. Going Seventeen 2021 is my favorite year! Plus, fun fact - during Gose 2019 and Gose 2020 the production team worked with a year to year contract, but starting from 2021 GoSe became a long running one series instead of numbered by the year. The game I'd want to play is the bunny one because everything else would have me quitting by level 3. I admire Seventeen's perseverance, and Jeonghan's determination. You can really see who has a competitive spirit and who doesn't (Jun falling asleep). Next episode is Mousebusters, and yes it's a play on Ghostbusters. Since 2020 is the year of the Rat, and there's a specific age group in Seventeen that were born in the year of the Rat... I'm sure you can figure it out!

omg this EP is so hilarious to me, the way everyone was so into the games but especially Woozi haha the change of attitude gets me every time😭 GoSe 2020 is referenced as THE start of the show's amazing direction and quality. We talk about it a lot because they (members and staff) made so many hit concepts and because we also love the show so much. At that point, it was the peak of COVID, so we used to rely a lot on these episodes for comfort. But it really gets better with time, I promise. I'm literally so excited to Mousebusters!! It's my favorite EP in the whole series and i can't wait for you to watch it. The whole concept is brilliant and fun haha.

one thing about Seventeen & GoSe team is that they can match each other's freakiness so well resulting in such amazing varied contents 😁

Gose 2020 and Gose 2021 are indeed the most iconic of the series, they're filled with classic moments cherished by a lot of Carats. I'm not sure I’d call it a “peak” though, because the following seasons are honestly just as entertaining, with tons of unique ideas and concepts, and production quality that keeps improving. I would say that the 2020 season is really what set the foundation and completely defined the format of the series we know today – that wild chemisty between members with such distinct personalities teaming up around all kinds of unique concepts, ranging from the simplest, goofy idea to the most elaborate game. And all of it topped off with their signature, meme-filled editing, which is a huge part of the series’ charm. But as an absolute fan, I will tell you that every season is worth watching, and that you're doing very well by starting your journey from the beginning because the rest will only get better! 😉 Either way, it’s such a joy to rewatch all of Going Seventeen from the start with you and to see how much you’re growing attached to Seventeen! That really warms my heart! 🥰

I survived three days of Getting Over It and the crash-out is real. Never again. I'll stick to watching other people lose their sanity. Also, GoSe 2020 was memorable for most people, but honestly it just gets better every year. Maybe because the members and staff get even more comfortable and chaotic together.

Brianna E

Also, not sure if you're already aware but Mousebusters is 3 episodes long, not just 2.

kristieeee

I totally agree with what everyone’s been saying about the 2020 season, so let me share something different instead XD Here’s the story behind them saying Hoshi cried in the opening: Back in July 2020, Hoshi saw a Carat’s post on Weverse and got so touched that he actually teared up. Not long after, Seungkwan posted a pic of Hoshi getting emotional in the dorm and sent some love to his Hoshi hyung. Jeonghan also posted about it, confirming that Hoshi really did cry (such a soft babyㅠㅠㅠ). Contents of the posts: https://www.instagram.com/p/CCkA7yvnJbn/?img_index=1

Only svt can make games like this so entertaining😭

Fay

Gose editors have the best captions😭😭

Jade V

The "long mingyu" edit is a call back to the Kartrider episode where Mingyu questioned the editors' ability to make the episode fun and in revenge the editors made a "fun" edit by stretching him up. This is one of the long running jokes in GoSe 😄

ddaddu

I would say that 2021 is the peak of gose!! but dw 2022 and 2023 is good as well
