Have we finally achieved nirvana in an Semi Auto Precision Rifle or SAPR? You might know these as AR10s if you haven't keep up with my lexicon here. Here in TNP I have been ranting against the SAWC of most SAPRs and have been calling for the industry to lighten them up...for over a decade. "Papa Owns Firearms" answered the call. Thanks to long term donor "Jake" I was able to score this donor gun and grind on it.

As I'll show in the video and inset shooting, POF remain laser beam focused on the mission of the Rogue: to stay light and fast...actually lighter than many AR15s! How did they do it? Some of this was covered in my 2018 POF Revolution review https://youtu.be/5qFKziVlr_I but the short answer is technological innovation. The Rogue features the same AR15 sized bolt, made possible by a special alloy that allows for it having thinner walls. The result is a bolt about the same size an an AR15s using this alloy that is 50 times stronger than Carpenter steel. That among other things makes this AR10 weigh less than 7 lbs...a real win here in TNP.

With us in TNP, POF enjoys nears royalty status with the other guns tested here. For instance POF Renegade that has proven to be truly a high end AR with excellent accuracy, reliability, and ground breaking high end features. The Rogue appears to carry on that tradition.

Indeed it would appear that it was a private company NOT the military or government that forged ahead in this AR10 company. And that company is funded by buyers like you; this gives POF the funds to make such cool systems. So dial into this long awaited Nutnfancy SAPR review and you too might come away wanting to add one to your system.

Smallest SAPR Yet: POF Rogue

I have lots of AR 15s so this should be interesting

JARMYSTRONG

Ok, I'll be that guy, WHO THE F CAN AFFORD THIS? Sorry but I'm stuck at the price point Palmetto makes their firearms at. Twice the price of my S&W M&P10, which I had to wait till it was on sale. Good on you TNP'rs that can sling the coin for an over $2k .308. My cheddar just isn't that orange. My cheddar is the store brand that's mostly yellow and oily.

Todd Strelka

All I can say is, wow! I'm looking forward to watching this.

The Hide

It would take a lot for me to move away from my SFAR. Sub 7 pounds and sub $1k dollars lol. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that hasn't had an issue with mine but I love it. POF is cool but a bit out of my price range..

3jeep

I love the idea of a 6 lb .308. That’s pretty sweet.

Mattimus

I’m hesitant to get into 30hate d/t ammo cost. You can’t buy a rifle and only stock 300 rounds… I like nutns SPR 5.56 build / 18” barrel.

STLParkRanger13 (IG: Sharpshooterjon)

Jake has this setup similarly to the way I set up my Savage MSR-10. I elected to use the Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x (30mm tube) because it's light and moderately high quality. My POU was different than SAPR. It's a "Chopper." It's meant to be used like a general purpose rifle, but more powerful and maybe stretch the range if necessary. I've taken mine to 500 yards in field conditions (at a local non-profit training organization near STL called the Patriot Training Foundation) and while 4x wasn't ideal, I could make periodic hits at that distance.

Bill The Broken

Can't wait to watch love most of what I've tried from POF. Thanks Nutn hope you are well.

JIMY

I totally respect people wanting to purchase things at different price points, and I don’t want to sound like a dick, but there are people out there who could afford this. Plenty of people fork over $3k or $4k for an HK or LMT or Sig.

Firearms Fuel&Fabrication

It's more in the realm of allocation of funds vs being able to "afford" it. Less steak and sushi and more ramen noodles for a few months and bingo bango.

Derek W Tiller

Is NOBODY going to address the clip of the hot asian chick with the nice rack waiting for the train??? 🤣

Hold Fast Joe

YouTube vs rumble, i go where the link in patreon sends me Nice review!

Casey Jones

Thanks for another AR-10 review, Nutn. A week ago I bought the PA-10 off your review. Can’t wait to shoot it.

Hold Fast Joe

That's a solid pou. Garandthumb interviewed two soldiers from isreal and one carried a 30 as it put the enemy down right away every time. I suspect he was right but he was also rtb every 24-48 hours, didn't need to kit up with food for weeks and water etc so he could take the weight

Downtrodden

Cool gun and I appreciate the commitment to $ling 400 rounds. My 16” and 20” SFARs (combined) cost less than a POF. Now I gotta save for a Rattler but a TNP fixed blade would still be welcome.

Allen gray

no mention of the SFAR so this was filmed before that review? whats your impression against the SFAR Nutn?

Ian

If you can keep that tops TNP edition under $150, I'm 100% in. Might even get 2.

The Nutnfancy Project

You have chosen well. Drop me a DM on your accuracy sometime. Shoot it with 150 FMJ and then some match ammo if you can.

The Nutnfancy Project

I do like the SFAR but I ended up not buying one b. it jammed a lot in our Audie Murphy Drill. I need to post that one, forgot about it.

The Nutnfancy Project

"I like nutns SPR 5.56 build / 18” barrel" It gets most jobs done with 77 gr bullets

Allen gray

well damn i bought 1 had 1 jam like you described in probably 100 rds mixed brass lookin for a good load

Matthew Sinn

My thoughts exactly. My SFAR has been excellent

Hold Fast Joe

I feel exactly the same way. I went with the 18" and with 69gr federal gold medal match (GMM), it's very nice! I have compared the bullet drop with 55gr fiocchi and the GMM at 69gr land 5" above the fiocchi @ 400 yards due to increased velocity that the 18" barrel can generate with those hotter rounds. It doesn't sound like much, but it certainly makes it a lot easier to get hits in a hurry if you don't want to spin knobs and just use hold offs instead as you don't run out of markings in the scope as you might with an additional 1.25 moa at that range with a slower round. I need to visit a 600 yard range and see how I fair sometime to gather dope for reaching out beyond a quarter mile.

Seeker Keyl

I seriously considered getting a POF years ago. Decided against it ultimately due to a number of reasons (cost, accuracy/reliability concerns, etc). Later built out an AR10 with Aero receivers and a 18" Faxon fluted match barrel. After getting it setup properly, it is an MOA capable gun with the good stuff I have and gets pretty darned close to MOA with bulk 7.62 NATO loads if I do my part. Definitely not as light as the POF or the SFAR, though. Especially not with the scope I have on it. And that is with a pretty light weight (but accurate) barrel! The receivers and the bcg are real chunks of metal.

Mattimus

I assume even with 55gr your 18” barrel is going to do wonders for distance shooting over a 14.5”

Michael B warner

Awesome AR-10 perhaps if I didn't have kids and a wife to take care of, and if money was no object I'd buy one. There is no doubt pof has done something special here, but IMO they can't touch the value equation of the SFAR. The SFAR is my AR-10 of choice because it's light enough to carry around when needed. Besides it's not like I'd put that many rounds through it anyway, especially with ammo being insane.

Michael B warner

I doubt your going to release a video and say you've changed your opinion, to a non recommended on the SFAR. Unless something truly catastrophic happened like with the Sig Cross. Even with the Cross you still recommend it, you said it yourself you've had occasional stoppages with all your AR-10's. I'm really looking forward to your SFAR update video coming out!

Aquanaut

Never question gifted melons...

Timothy Carswell

Quick question - why is 300 Blackout not a competitive option? Is it due to price of ammo?

Wyoming Homesteader

ROAM Rifles ar10s are even lighter. They are currently out of stock but should get back to normal supplies this summer.

Salted Senior

I've been using Magtech M80 and gas setting 4 ... haven't had any malfunctions. I will note that ejection pattern is around the 1 o'clock position which had me worried at first. But after about 400 rounds no malfunctions.

Zack Harris

Curious on sfar update …yea to Tops tnp collab👍

Ben horton

SFAR seemed to shoot better

Donnie Graham

Love that you've still got that OG duracoated mag from the LR-308. I watched the crap out of that video. Been wondering when the Rogue would make an appearance as the specs just screamed "nutn would be all about this." Great vid.

Justin Golden

You can put me down for a TNP edition of the TOPS Lite Trekker!

Kinoons

The answer to all TNP special edition blades is yes.

Robert Avery

I really love the heavy hitting .308s. Hell yeah on another TNP blade

Kinoons

Performance of the round. 300 black is much closer to 7.62x39 in performance than 7.62x51

Matthew Sinn

Put me down as a “yes please” for the TNP Light Trekker. Would also love to see a TNP full size camp/backpacking knife.

JFire

Suppressed footage would be pretty sick…just sayin’

Plumber Angelo

Thank you Jake not from State Farm! You made this review possible, cool rifle!

Joshua S

Nutn, was the FNAR the first gun you assigned to the anti-pirate/ship defense POU?
