My song is about the weight of loss we all carry. It is part of us, part of who we are, and part of our lived experience. I've lost loved ones, friends, and special moments I'll never get back. I wish I could relive those times, with those people, all over again. But they're gone. Those losses leave a sadness that lives quietly in the back of our minds, always with us, waiting until we feel strong enough to revisit it. We know the pain is there. We know what opening that door will bring. And most people seeing us will think us carefree and unencumbered.

But this song is also about hope. It's about understanding that while we've lost those people and those moments, we must continue living our best lives in their honor. We can choose when to visit our grief without allowing it to define us. “I will not make my life a graveyard, I will not surrender years, They would never ask me to stop living Just to prove I still have tears.” I believe our loved ones live on. They're rooting for us, wanting us to carry on and create epic lives, even though they're no longer here beside us.

We cannot bring them back, but we can honor them by living with courage, kindness, and purpose. And so we learn. We learn to carry the sadness while pressing on toward new frontiers in our lives. Our losses deepen our understanding, and through that understanding comes empathy. We become better equipped to help others who are learning to carry their own grief. The sadness will always be there. We choose when we're strong enough to visit it. And until then, we choose to live epic, meaningful lives with the precious time WE have been given.

LYRICSVerse 1 You see me laughing in the morning, Like I never learned to cry, You see me walking with the sunlight, Like a bird across the sky. And you might think my heart is easy, That I leave the past behind, But there are names I carry softly In the corners of my mind. Chorus Behind my eyes there is a sadness That I never let you see, A quiet weight I carry with me, Hidden underneath the free. And though some days I feel it calling, I can only go there when I’m strong, So I honor those who left me By living fully and moving on. Verse 2 There are rooms I do not enter Every time I pass the door, There are voices in the silence I can almost hear once more. And when I’m ready I will visit, I will sit there for a while, Then I’ll rise and face the daylight, And the world will see me smile. Chorus Behind my eyes there is a sadness That I never let you see, A quiet weight I carry with me, Hidden underneath the free. And though some days I feel it calling, I can only go there when I’m strong, So I honor those who left me By living fully and moving on. Bridge I will not make my life a graveyard, I will not surrender years, They would never ask me to stop living Just to prove I still have tears. So I’ll take the road before me, Every sunrise, every mile, And carry all the ones I’ve loved Somewhere underneath my smile. Final Chorus Behind my eyes there is a sadness, And the happiness is true, Both can live inside one heart now, Both can carry me on through. And when the memory gets too heavy, I will leave that door alone, Till I’m ready once again To visit those who’ve gone. And I’ll honor them by living, Every road and every sky, With their memory in my footsteps And their love behind my eyes.

I came up with the whole idea, wrote the lyrics and am the soul behind it. I used AI to generate a tune and give it a voice. With this AI help the song would never exist.

Damn hits hard! Miss many I had to say goodbye so soon. But I do look forward in seeing them when I go home.

Thank you. This transcends lives. It reminded me of loved ones who’ve passed through that veil and also of strangers I’ve witnessed, in some of the most tragic ways, pass before me too. I make stories for who they might have been in my head when I think of them. They were somebodies to someone even if only strangers to me.

Beneath the gear reviewer lies the heart of a poet. This was great, thank you for sharing, nutn.

Michael the TNPr

Thanks for sharing. I always liked the kind side of you, caring for animals and people, yet still strong enough to draw boundaries, be decisive, and battle ready. Reminds me of an indian chief.

Red dog 1

Not what I was expecting this evening. Alittle shocked. Very deep. Great song. The lyrics make the song. Thanks Nutn

The Nutnfancy Project

Thank you. I wrote the lyrics upon contemplating the loss of our two children in late term pregnancy, many years ago.

The melancholy and introspective sadness strikes an emotional chord that is too easily buried. Thank you for offering a remembrance of why we undertook the duty of this life.

Joseph

You’ve got a beautiful voice Nutn

Dude, amazing again!! So happy you are sharing these projects. Always knew you had layers, but you are downright complex and multifaceted. Brings to front of mind for me how, as men, we put on a face to our family and the world but still have to deal with that pain.

Bluegill097

I liked this more than I thought I would. Glad I gave it a try. Nicely done Nutn.

Bravo

Oh shit a man of many talents. Thanks for sharing this personal moment of creation with us.

Damn Nutn! This one caught me off guard. Kinda hard to listen to. What an amazing song that says what many of us don't know how to put into words.

Tom Small

Thanks for this You articulated this well, stirred up the feels. God be with you and those you have lost, my friend.

Brian Driver

Not my style of music. But that's fine we all have our preferences. The hidden talent you possess is unquestionable. Great heartfelt lyrics Nutn.

Only counts if you sing it Nutn

Thank you for sharing. Very powerful! Hits hard like many others here saying. I teared up.. What a beautiful song that connects so deeply to our shared human experiences. Thanks for guiding us to seek an epic life. I am so grateful I found TNP! Can you tell us more about the production? I'm so impressed with how polished it sounds. That's really Uncle Nutn on the mic? Instruments? I have so many questions! Bravo!!

The Late Boy Scout

He added an addendum to the description stating that the voice and music are AI.

TVguru

This should win the Grammy for best song of the year. Deeply touching - who sang the lyrics for you?

This was beautiful it made me think of my mom that I lost suddenly to cancer last year. We had no warning with it she had no symptoms at all. By the time we found out nothing could be done she was gone four days later. It came from way out in left field somewhere. This acknowledges the pain but also shines some light on the hurt excellent job Nutn!!!
