Usually you just don't want to mess around when you're hungry out there.  Make it quick, make it simple, and most importantly make it delicious.  Here I take you to a quick but yummy canned food secret I came up with:  La Choy Chinese Food...improved!

There's a windstorm in progress but the Yamaha Wolverine and its tailgate provide shelter and a great cooking table.  Fresh chicken breast is seared, the sauce is improved and then we get to eating.

Before the video ends I'll take you inside the truck tent that night where temps dropped to 30ºF and the winds howled all night long.

I think I would have pre cooked the chicken at home. Less camp prep and salmonella cross contamination risk.

Ryan Reese

Thanks Nutn! Hope all TNPers are having a great Memorial Day weekend! Have fun, stay safe and take a minute to remember those who aren’t able to be back home with their families.

Jeremy Corrao

I can definitely use some of that right now!

Scout154

Been waiting for new content! Love the cooking shows!

Todd Strelka

Perfect timing for CWN because I'm hungry! These videos are fun to watch. That Honda EU3000i generator is nice and quiet. I looked at one yesterday when I was dropping my mower off for repair. Crazy wind storm in the desert. We got lots of wind and rain on Easter weekend.

nutn, try using cheap aerosol glass cleaner to clean up after your dishes, just spray and wipe with shop towels which you already have. I cook like this ALL the time, off the back of a fricken pickup truck. the glass cleaner works better than dish soap and water in many cases. The alcohol cuts the grease and flashes off. the ammonia cleans and leaves no residue. all my camping dishes go back clean!! ditch the truck tent, look at kodiak for car camping, truck tents are for people afraid of getting eatin by bears or cougars, pussies, LOL. I have set my kodiak up with 4 stakes, in a timed 5 minutes.

Greg Malcom

Yes, you made me hungry! And I had already eaten lunch! Had to get up and eat something spicy.

Greg Chapman

As per usual great content, thanks!

Love the cooking vids and love cooking outdoors. In reference of the amount of people out there, up here in Ak it’s been nuts every trailhead, and campground has been packed. Emergency 911 calls have been off the charts. Be safe out there folks.

Shawn Buffer

Cool video!!! Not sure if you have ever seen these tent trailers but they are really cool. You can take your UTV and have a really nice tent to stay in. New they are pricey but you can get good deals used on CL. Plus they are made un Utah! Thanks for all the great videos you put out!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 http://www.jumpingjacktrailers.com/

Lon N

Thanks Nutn, I enjoyed the cooking and the wind down mood from Operation Valkyrie. I have spent a few nights with a dome tent blown down flat across my chest.. tough sleeping but vivid memories.

Kenny VanCleave

This alone was worth the price of admission. The wife is on her way to the store and I'm texting her to pick up some chicken and La Choy. Yummy!

David Goodridge

Everyone needs that place that one can look around, feel at ease and say “I love it”.

Ol Retired Fed

What? No P-38 can opener? And you call your self retired military. What's for dessert in the desert?

Ryan Benn

Nutn, when is your debut on Food Network?

The Nutnfancy Project

"up here in Ak it’s been nuts every trailhead, and campground has been packed". No doubt Chris...I don't know if it will ever go back the way it was. Every area I've used for TNP now has a lot of people, ugh. I have to really drive a long way to get away now.

The Nutnfancy Project

Those look awesome! I sprung for a camper shell and it's fitted on. I really love it so far too. I protects me a lot better in those darn wind storms.

The Nutnfancy Project

It's cheap and really delicious! I am glad to turn you on to it Kenny, thanks much

Robert Plested

Gotta go grocery shopping tomorrow....

DarkPassenger

Are you using butane or propane , what do you think is the better for field use? Currently I run 1 lbs propane bottles. Any experience with refilling the 1 lbs bottles?

Lee Lenser

This video made me worry about your sodium intake...just sayin lol!

William Rice

It takes half as long to make Chinese as it does for you to talk about it

Mr. Ed

At this point I'd watch sewing with Nutnfancy just solid content as always!

Racing Psychosis

Had that last week, garbage meat included. The cooking is giving me some ideas for the next couple races that I have on the schedule. And super simple to make for outdoor adventures or race track.

The Nutnfancy Project

I love it when I can give you guys quick, easy delicious meals to make on the go. I'll try to do that more.

Racing Psychosis

Absolutely. I'm also a big fan of venison and rice at the track. Always looking for easy at the track with a bit of methanol two stroke smoke to keep the mosquitos away.

RowdyRon

That was so cool. The scenery was truly spectacular. Didn't you and TD cook somewhere at a monument of sorts? Thanks Nutn!

Connor Murphy

Cooking with Nutnfancy have always been some of my all time favorite videos you make. Keep it up.

A Random Walk

Peasant food = throw whatever you have into a pot or on a bread = gumbos, stews, tacos, etc. Best food ever

TNSheep

right? some of my best meals have always been just garbage in a pot and amazing out the other end.

TNSheep

Wait, that had a phrasing issue. hahahahahaha

Powernoodle

What was the ceramic knife yo? Thanks.

Powernoodle

Looks like a Farberware 6" ceramic chef's knife.

Robert Plested

Kikkoman makes a good powdered stir fry sauce for about a buck. La Choy sells cans of chow mein w/out the attached sauce and throw-away beef. More SAWC compliant.

Ed Hopkins

Great vid as always Nutn! Thanks for all your hard work. Have you ever refilled those green $5 propane tanks? There's an $8 adaptor that allows you to fill it from a 5 or 7 gallon tank. Also, I agree about the floppy turner. Pitch it!

Daniel Herb

"I know how to make things DELICIOUS" - Nutn. haha Love it
