Giantmouse ACE Iona: Near Perfect EDC Knife (Patreon)

We'll start off with a fun T38 Talon Air Force story here! One that involves a lot of afterburner when I was in the ACE program, Minot AFB, ND.  My buddy and I used to piss of the training wienies at Randolph AFB with our aggressive but expert flying in our matte grey T38! Interestingly that name is shared with this near perfect EDC blade from Italian "Giantmouse." A Vox design, the Ace Iona has great colors, M390 steel, spring steel clip, perfect blade execution, and a light weight. It comes to TNP Knife Nation highly recommended.

Great video, Nutn. I love the mini Air Force Story at the beginning. Have you ever considered bringing back the AFS video series? I really like them.

Heck yea! Looked like tail 3217 worked that jet at Beale. I primarily worked A model NG ejection seats. But got to check out the new MB seats at Laughlin for a short stint.

Cool to see the Hype show up. I still have mine in my EDC rotation as a workhorse. It's really a shame it didn't last very long in production; just such a solid design all around. Different subject - I took my KT RDB-S and P17 out to Tennessee Silencer for some suppressed shooting and suppressor research. So much fun. Would love to see a P17 review and an RDB-S post-release follow-up.

Full disclosure... While the P17 has been flawless out of the box, I did have to send the RDB-S back to KT for issues with both light primer strikes and locking open with rounds in the mag. They replaced a bunch of components and got it back to me in 8 days, and it runs like a dream now.

Just like Matthew mentioned, the Kershaw Hype is an awesome knife. It is one of my favorite knifes. Mine is completely scratched up and half of the padding has fallen off. The TNP Lionsteel replaced it as my EDC knife. The TNP Honey Badger reminds me of the Hype - similar size and fast deployment. I enjoy the air-force stories.

High value on that knife... a TNP version would be great. Orange G10, blacked out blade and wire clip, add some jimping and sell it. TNP blue would be cool too. I just have a lack of orange/black blades in my life. Blade HQ promises to release the Para 3 orange/black, but I've been waiting forever.

I'm originally from the countryside around the Minot area. You were at Minot AFB when I was in high school. I can see why it wouldn't have been your favorite duty station, but I love hearing your Minot stories!

Love the AF stories. Yes on a TNP Ace Iona if you can do a budget one around a hundy. I'd vote for red cause I only have 1 red in my collection. Or a "bright shiny" green. Hey Nutn, I still need to know how to ship my Tuxedo Badgers to you.

I wish I was half as good at telling my Marine Corps stories as you are at telling your Air Force ones. I didn't end up getting a Giantmouse knife after watching this video...but I did order one of the competitive options you showed us. I ordered a Civivi Elementum with the wood handle and black finished D2 blade. DUDE!!! That thing is SICK!!! Thanks for the review. My credit card company loves you. They send me letters telling me to never stop watching TNP.

I would say no to the TNP version of the blade. The next TNP blade needs to be a bit larger presentation. The dragonfly and the honey badger were smaller. Time to boost it a bit!!

I love the jargon. Thanks for your service from one Lt Col to another and one previous Minotian to another, albeit a different generation. I’m an Owl who has watched since ‘11. When I was out in the Pacific a couple years ago I ran into a 151st O-6 who knew you and I believe previously flew with you...Brandon T. It was great to meet someone who knew you personally. I’d buy one! I love hearing service stories. It’s so funny to hear the experiences of others especially from other branches than the army. I have a very similar experience where regular army POGS Started harassing me for something stupid. All I did was point that my flaming sis pot patch and kept walking.
