Another incredible ABC watch from Casio. A surprise might be its smaller size. Some ProTreks wear big on smaller wrists; this might be the ticket. It's Tough Solar, synchs up time automatically but doesn't connect via an app on my phone. That's ok because I got enough damn apps.

Full numeral markers, legible stick hands, a big module LCD display, and great variations ]the titanium one is super cool] slot the PRW50 series into the well established and liked ProTrek series. Pricing and availability vary widely and I'm not sure where this watch is in production runs. I had Tweeted out amazing Amazon deals on this watch last year; hopefully you jumped on that (just $200 at the time for the DuraSoft equipped Tactical Black PRW-50Y-1ACR.

Cool competitive offerings shown to include a Casio smart watch.

Some thing to watch during my lunch break.

Green Mountain Boys

I think the last watch I actually purchased was a Casio G-Shock (from looking at Amazon, the current version is the DW-6900) that I got at Ranger Joe's in Columbus GA between infantry OSUT and jump school.... because the "cool" drill sgts wore them (my first e-2 paycheck bought the watch, a pair of Nike Air Max and a bic razor high and tight... ah, the 90s); lasted me ten years. Haven't worn a watch since, but your watch videos, like the reasons for wearing one, continue to grow on me. Thanks Nutn, you and yours stay well.

Connor Murphy

Thanks, Nutn. I really like the Protrek line, I've come close to getting a PRG-600 several times and I really need to finally pull the trigger on one.

Robert Plested

Does the analog time update with WWVB? Or just the LCD? Love the solar atomic clock watches!

Ryan Reese

Love the PRG-600. I was rocking mire all weekend. When I put my LumiNox on this morning, it felt tiny. I’m pretty sure the 600 is not atomic though. 🤔

Brad Fegan

Absolutely love Casio watches. I am drawn to the solar atomic ones.

Why do you hate me so much, Nutn? Why do you want me to squander my savings on watches, knives, and guns? LoL I just bought the same blue PRG600 you are wearing in the vid about 2 weeks ago on the secondary market for $170 (excellent deal). I also hate the keepers it comes with and will most likely swap them out or possibly replace the entire band with something else. I would really like to get my hands on that cream-colored PRW50 and put an OD green silicone band on it (or maybe an OD green NATO strap). I can't believe how much functionality these watches pack into a drop-dead gorgeous timepiece. (they just look badass). Scanning eBay and other sources now for a good deal.

Schmuckatelli

I just bought that same blue PRG600 that Nutn is wearing in the video a couple of weeks ago. Love the watch. Highly recommend it.

Bravo

Nutn I remember you saying in the past you had a 7.5 wrist because I thought it was the same as mine at the time. No?

Powernoodle

I will spend $600 for a new gun I never shoot, but not for a watch. Everyone's priorities are different I guess. [As for new guns during Covid: CZ P-07, CZ P10F, Walther PDP, Shield Plus and Max 9. Every one of them sweet as honey].

Powernoodle

After going atomic, its hard for me to go back to 16th century non-atomic technology. Knowing exactly what time it is everyday is just too good.

Ryan Reese

Hahaha dude, I was thinking the same thing! I was like, maybe he lost 100 lbs to lose an inch of wrist diameter 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Bravo

We need a GBA-800 review nutn!

Bravo

Haha good TNPers know nutn’s wrist size haha 😂

Todd Strelka

Very nice watch. It appeals to me. I'd wear that.

Willie Everett

I have been wearing a Casio Forester for a couple years now. I wore a Tonnier in green for while but I scratched the glass to much to keep wearing it.

Connor Murphy

Yep, It's been the blue one that I've almost bought every time. It's my favorite coloration by far.

Edward mcclure

New to watches, positive/negative display?

Schmuckatelli

I bought mine used and got it for a good price and it looks like it's new. There's a pretty big secondary market on watches.

DuginIN

Love Casio PRO TREK. After watching TNP WRV. In May 2018 I bought the PRG600Y-1CR black for $241.00. It’s my dress up watch. I saw the Tweet in June 2020 and bought the PRW50Y-1ACR black for $199.00. Really like the atomic feature. It’s my non work casual watch.

OpFor

Positive is dark text on a light background, negative is light text on a dark background

The Nutnfancy Project

I agree! It's a clean, easy way to make sure you watch is always right on without the fussiness of phone apps.

The Nutnfancy Project

"2 weeks ago on the secondary market for $170 (excellent deal)" Wow, that is a great deal, well done! What I often do is put in a "watch" for pre owned watch models I want in eBay. If you're patient you can often find common pieces that way. The Creme colored PRW50 here is JDM only so it is rare; for those you just have to buy it when you see it if the price is right. The one shown we paid abut $220 for.

The Nutnfancy Project

Yes Doug! So glad you scored that PRW50Y-1ACR black for $199.00! That's the best deal I've ever seen on these and that price went bye bye. The PRG600 is also a great watch. Way to go getting those xlnt pieces; they will make you happy for years.

Hey Nutn’ would you ever want to review a legitimate AF watch from Wingman watches? These are designed and paid for by active military members and I’ve got 2. If not, no worries at all.

Daniel Herb

Super nice watches, that DuraSoft band sounds pretty neat.

Tacticaldoodle

.......why on earth are they headquartered in San Francisco of all things? And here I thought it was bad enough Bell&Ross are in france. If they come up in a batch he just might, I don't think I can convince him to drop that money on one any time soon, he's gotta be real horny for it if it's above $200.

p Barnes

Well not that it makes that much of a difference but they're HQ'd in San Diego not SF but that's splitting very fine hairs. They are very well engineered watches allbeit they're quartz and not autos but... the glass is crystal and the I've had zero issues with reliability thus far. For a quartz chrono movement they make alot of sense for active airmen. Either way, big fan of the WRVs, keep 'em coming

Thomas Cornell

Love these watches , you really amplified my interest in watches

I wanted one of these but the prices are still stupid. Especially in Canada. I had a Safari PRG600 that I sold on eBay and bought a PRW-6600Y-1A9CR. The Safari was nice but the dull bezel ring got boring quick. I was trying to hold out for the Prw-50 or 60 but like I said the prices are still jacked but the 6600Y-1A9CR does have solar and atomic time. The 6600 came on sale on amazon.ca for just above 300 cdn and I couldn't resist with the PRWs still being pricy. The loom is actually good and the backlight is cool AF. I put it on a grey barton canvas strap which goes great with the grey dail and I haven't looked back. Its become part of my weekly rotation. Oh and props to Casio for putting out a Protrek/gshock that does not require strap adapters on the 600/650, 6600, and the PRWs! The straps are nice and long but I don't like synthetic rubber straps too much.

Logan Holmberg

Oh and the black display is very readable in sunlight for a negative display and I put a gorilla glass protector on the mineral crystal.....you know if microbrand watches can put Saphire on $200 watches why can't the big watch brands?

Logan Holmberg

I so want a titanium one but they are so pricy....Maybe Sakura watches will have a sale sometime.....😑🙏

Logan Holmberg

Think you might look into the new Prg-30s or PRW-30s? They are all digital face but otherwise very similar to the 60s and 60s. The Prg-30s are somewhat cheaper and don't have atomic time I think and the Prw-30s come in some cool color combos.

Logan Holmberg

Unlike other casios these don't need strap adapters so you can put it on a nice Barton canvas strap or a leather strap as well.

Logan Holmberg

I bought that watch too after seeing Nutns review just recently sold it on ebay to pick up the PRW-6600Y-1A9CR. Its a really nice upgrade I got for a $250ish US if you can find a sale but congrats on finding a PRW50 for such a steal. I really wish these watches got a full official release in NA. Then we might see them for decent prices more often.
