Tactical Doodle and I go table top on this one. We'll talk about Dad's cool F100 Super Sabre as we kick it off.  Then we talk about several, mostly-forgotten Glock long slides. We seek to remind you good guys how xlnt they are. All this was driven home to us after extended outings and ammo expenditures. They are accurate, reliable, and hit very hard in these calibers. One quirk is discussed.

Extended Envelope Engagements acronym (EEE) makes its first appearance in this 2 for 1 GRV. TD calls them "hard ballers!" We'll discuss their interesting POU, SAWC, firepower, and the like.  We'll again make  the case, especially with a brace, how these are really pistol caliber carbines.  Highly recommended...if you can find them.

Todd Strelka

Dude. I can't wait to watch this tomorrow.

Aaron Hine

Nutn like a nutn video to entertain me on a restless night. Perfect timing!

Ashanti Ali

They didn’t mention the g41 mos ‘hardballer’.

Adam Boyd

I have my Gen 4 G20 with me on duty now. The G40 came out shortly after I bought it and I was bummed out because I would have gone with the long slide. I carry it in the Galco Jackass rig when I'm not working. I wonder if the long slide would be concealable that way.

Shawn Kuse

My Gen 3 Glock 20 with an NP3 coated slide sits mounted by wall magnets just above my head board as my night-night gun. Olight Laser Baldr mounted also. Sweeet!!!

Tacticaldoodle

I can't tell if calling any longslide pistol a hardballer is unusual slang, or if it's a standard nickname.

Tacticaldoodle

I feel like somewhere, when glocks were newer, some guy threw out the box it came in, only to have the wife nab it out of the trash can and press it into service as the kids' lunchbox tupperware.

Matthew Sinn

I’ve been employing a G40 with a Lone Wolf large frame lower for home defense for a couple years. The lower is necessary for me to be in control - I have med-small hands and the factory grip is too long front to back for me to get my hands around solidly. Excellent shooter.

Greg Malcom

Woke up at 4am to find this vid available! Good timing.

Matt W Plank

EEP - Extended Engagement Package

Matt W Plank

I mean “EEP” goes better with your “hardballer” concept...nutn like having a hardballer package, just saying.😂

Green Mountain Boys

Wake up, have to reschedule jobs due to weather and find a long slide video to go with my coffee... perfect! Thanks Nutn

Andrew Maynes

You filmed this during the pandemic? That was around the same time I had the idea to build a braced G34 for my bolt gun system. I went with the Flux brace and Vortex Venom.

Pedro

Love my long slide. I’m especially happy with the walther 5 inch Q5 match. Long slide versions don’t get enough love. Glock long slide are definitely long lol, I think they look better that way anyhow.

Sean Evans

Dude, I will never be able to understand why you guys think Glocks are so good considering todays offerings. I get it that they were the first. I get it that they set the trend for high cap polymer hand guns. But they are beaten in so many areas these days that it’s hard to love them. They are ugly as Hell. The grip angle sucks - it forces you to stretch your forearm muscles unnecessarily far to a point that it’s uncomfortable. Almost all important parts need after market mods to bring the performance up to par. I just don’t get it. Loyalty is the only logical reason that makes any sense to me.

Robert Plested

That would make the coolest lunch box at school. Snowflakes would melt and boil over.

Andrettski

That Q5 steel match pro has been pulling at my strings for about 3 years. I wish I could run into someone at a shoot and talk them into letting me test it a bit.

Pedro

If it’s anything like the polymer frame Q5 match before it then it should be a blast. I felt one in hand and it’s definitely nice but a toy and that’s all it is in my book. The steel frame is too damned heavy for EDC, and it was design as a race gun so it is.

Andrettski

I must say that Glock 40 is one BAD ASS Hard Baller of a gun. Damn near Robo Cop movie gun. Thanks for the GRV guys as I'm seeing Mrs. Nutn rolling her eyes about your stallion status as a "hard baller".

ktnjr .

Love my Glocks and falling in love with Caniks! The first thing I do with my Glock 40 cals is change out the barrels since I reload. When I find police trade in for a decent price I buy them!

Onewizeguy

My first pistol was a gen 3 G23- it spends most of its time tucked away, paired with a Sub 2k .40 and lots of mags. Even though it’s always been 100% my favor shifted to my Sig p229 in .40. Love that hammer gun trigger.

Joshua S

EEEEEEEE.... the ringing in my ears had a new tone for a bit there.

Todd Richardson

Funniest video to date. Really enjoyed it. Been a sub since 2009 and have seen almost all content on the YouFace channel. Glad to have transitioned to Patreon and happy to support the channel. Thanks for your service (both military and community) and for the great reviews, life lessons, and adventures (more back pack adventures integrated w gear reviews plz!!). Cheers

David Spinks

I kept waiting for a Glock 24 or 17L to make an appearance after the appropriate and corresponding whip sound lol. The Glock 40 is a badass sidearm for sure, but there's also the original long slide models. And, if you happen to have a Vickers G17 or an original Gen 3 RTF frame you can slap that 6" upper on that frame and you're really off to the races. I even have a threaded barrel on my 17L, and it shoots like a champ with a can, and even better with a can and a brace. Great video though. Thanks for all your hard work!

Ruben Lopez

Hey Nutn! When are we having a Hood River meet up?

NatvMan

If you can't afford to shoot, watch Nutn and TD shoot. Keep up the good work Nutn!

Andrew H

0% interest in buying a Glock Long Slide. 100% interest in watching the TNP review of the Glock Long Slide. Thanks for the great content. So glad I finally joined as a Patron after all these years.

Tacticaldoodle

Now, maybe. back in the day, they would've mocked the kid for his pussy plastic pistol. Everyone knows anything other than a S&W 59 is rad, maaaaybe the p226 if you're froofy and eurocentric. But a plastic pistol!?! I heard they get through metal detectors!

Nathan Simms aka Darkpriest

Nutn, put a TP9SFX or TP9SFL against any Glock and tell me it doesn't out shoot them :-p You started me on this train and they are so much better than Glocks I can't go back!

Tacticaldoodle

I've been watching that. Some time I'd love to get into printing. I can't believe what they've been able to do now, can't imagine how much better they'll be in a few years more dev.

Tacticaldoodle

For a long-long term pistol system, it's hard to beat the parts base. I can count on there being illicit 3d printed parts replacement, magazines, trigger assemblies, and slides being made for glocks in 100-200 years for my descendents. I can't count on that for something like whatever FN, Walther, Beretta, etc. are making. I've had issues sourcing mags for a bunch of testing guns over the years, and that's while they're in production and supposed to be common! The magazine ecosystem is nigh impossible to beat in the market. Shooting ergos may not be ideal, but after decades we'd have no way of knowing whether or not it's true, since we're fully acclimated to them anyway. I'm a fan of the grip angle, and the grooves, as odd as they are. For someone building their systems clean-sheet you can definitely make the argument for something else. If you shoot something else better, that would probably be the deciding factor.

Tacticaldoodle

I'm chapped they got so popular. They used to be an unappreciated deal....now they're up there in price with the rest. I'm seeing seven hundred and some-odd dollar Caniks out here! At that point, as cool as they are, I'm tempted by something with a pedigree like an HK, even if it's giving up some luxuries.

John Mell

Love you guys...Been watching for what seems like 10+ years and still cannot get enough. Your mannerisms, comedy, voice, or whatever it is that draws me in, and keeps me watching even the watch reviews...lol. Along with the gun stuff, and knife stuff its by far the best Boob-tube channel out there...lol. Thanks for all you and the Doodster do for us dumbass civilians. You're appreciated more than you could ever know.

ThisWe'llDefend

I built a custom extra long slide 10 mm on a gen 3 SF frame specifically for hog hunting. Barrel is 7.2 inches and I had a custom chest rig cross draw holster made for it. I use full power solids on the hogs, but my most impressive chrono was with Underwood 135 gr hollow points that clocked 1,700 fps. Energy with most full power ammo is well over 700 lb ft. I had it finished in Cerakote OD green. Glocks are generally nothing to look at but I get a big smile every time I lay my eyes on this big girl. I wish we could post pics on here.

Hold Fast Joe

You may post pictures in the community tab. We would love to see it!

ThisWe'llDefend

I tried but my phone doesn't give me an option to upload pics from my Samsung Note 8. Maybe I'll have better luck from my pc after I get home.

The Nutnfancy Project

Glock 17L add-on review is coming! All the shooting is done it's awesome as you know. I will post it separately. Good point on the Gen 3s taking the 6" slide btw David.

The Nutnfancy Project

Me loves the TP9 series, I don't say much bad about them. A few ounces heavier is all, rest is aces.

Mike R

Yeah TD it’s pretty cool it takes some bit to learn everything and setup the printer right, but there’s a lot of good YouTube videos out there. https://ctrlpew.com their guide is good for everyone who is starting out and wanting to get into printing firearms and you’re right in a few years it will be even better.

ThisWe'llDefend

Okay, pics uploaded to the community page. I thought it would be interesting to add that the only factory part from Glock beside the frame is the locking block and the slide release. Literally everything else on this build is aftermarket.

Mike R

If you’re trying to load photos using the app that the problem you can’t, open patreon up in a browser on your phone and you should be able to load the photos there. It will only let you load one photo at first after you post your post you can go in and edit your post and add more photos to it.

Connor Murphy

I second the Oregon TNP Gathering!

J Ram

Not a Glock fan, but a huge 40 S&W fan (especially for my carry weapon)....thanks for the "validation" Colonel, I'll make sure to watch this video over and over, although now I may need to rethink my position re Glock since I don't own any....lol.

Casey Jones

How come the G41 didn’t make the list?

Andrew H

Thanks! I especially love the videos with both Nutn and TD - the father-son banter that I've missed out on myself since my dad is a convicted criminal dirtbag, and it is great inspiration for the relationship between me and my infant son (love it even more when you guys are in the bunker with face-time format). Also, I saw you have a Boker Urban Trapper in the inventory - would love to see your review on that. The Civivi Chronic fits that same "Executive Knife" category and also looks pretty sweet. Cheers and God bless. Jesus is King!

Andrew H

TD is spot on with this

DuginIN

When Glock came out with the model 40 in 2015 I bought one in October of that year. RMR and a Guides Choice Chest Holster by Diamond D Custom Leather. It’s a keeper. I saw a video using Underwood Ammo Xtreme Penetrator. Shot through bulletproof glass. 15 round magazines of 10mm is a lot of firepower.

Patrick Brichta

Oh boy, I love me some long slide. I have a 34 that I just love to shoot. One awesome feature of shooting the 10MM, is that you can actually shoot 40 s&w through it perfectly safely, it cycle's, no need to swap out barrels or magazines and it just runs along and is a whole lot cheaper to shoot and train with. Also, couldn't agree more about how cheap you can pick up the glock 22 or glock 23 . I've gotten some smoking and deals on gunbroker, everyone wants the 9 mm. And with a simple drop in barrel from lone Wolf, you can shoot 9 mm out of your 40 just that easy. Then you have the beauty of being able to shoot both types of ammo, with one pistol. So when everything dries up on the shelves hopefully you'll slap a little bit of 1 or the other.

The Nutnfancy Project

Hello John! Thanks so much for the kind comment and your support. We are just goofballs trying to put out solid information and having fun. We'll keep on trucking and a lot more fun stuff to come.

Kurt Schall

I've had a G24 for years now. Never regretted the purchase. Very low production volume and tons of fun to shoot.

John Unterkofler

TD is totally right. The G40 needs to be added to the Halo series of video games. Would love to blast some aliens with that hard baller!

Koehler4Hire

I have the model 40 MOS. Amazing firearm, even for female FBI agents ;)

Stan White

Have three glocks currently. Carried the G22 gen4 as a Police Officer. Can't wait to get my hands on a G40.

Boone Mill Farm

Me too. It’s my daily OWB carry on the farm, and another with light/laser sits in the headboard of the bed. I Carry a 30S concealed. A 43 if I dress up for something. I just like .45s Slow and fat fits me in many ways.

Erik Haw

Yay! I needed this video!

Sheepdog

Regarding the G20. I was having problem with mine where the magazine was falling out during shooting. Long story short, I seems that the problem was being caused by loading the magazine to capacity, racking a round into the chamber and then topping the magazine off and reinserting it into the loaded gun. That practice appears to damage the magazine retention detent on the mag. Once I stopped doing this, I have not had the problem. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Tacticaldoodle

Pretty sure I read some scifi book once that was set in like 2400 ad, they used a glock with some material enhancements but otherwise unchanged. It struck me as pretty realistic, since it's a cheap, known quantity and sidearms don't need to be hypersonic rail cannons. Maybe they'd bullpup it, but that's all I expect.

Me

I've only had my 20 for about 6 months I do the same loading protocols & haven't had any issues

Nancy Merrell-Robertson

@Sheepdog, I've had not a mag dropping problem, but a jamming problem when topping off. And then, only with the pocket pistols, the 42 and the 43. After the first or sometimes the second shot, the next round would almost always jam. I stopped the practice of topping off and never had another episode.

Sheepdog

Thanks Nancy. I appreciate the reply. It seems our Glocks don't like to be topped off, for one reason or another.

Sheepdog

Thanks Me. It's good to know. My G20 is a Gen4. How about yours?

Daniel Herb

Hahah *High Pitched Monty Python Voice* "it shall be known as EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" Yall are hilarious.

Matthew Wilson

Love my glock 34. I notice with a lot of my glocks I'm low left when shooting but I'm not with my spring field. Don't know If this is something you all experience as well.

Derek W Tiller

both 24 and 40 are popular in hawaii for pig hunting.

William R. Stevens III

Ok so I’m not a Glock fan !!! But when I was looking for bear gun I tried so many times to want to like the G20 but couldn’t stand how it felt in my hand compared to the Sig P220!!! But even after looking at the huge difference in the price and the size and weight that you Preach all the time!!! I couldn’t bring myself to like how the Glock felt!! Love my heavy as a log Sig!! It’s BA😎

Zack

Great vid. My go to 10mm is my RIA ultra FS 1911. 9+1 of 10mm is nothing to sneeze at, plus I only shoot hot ammo and the extra weight and superior ergonomics and trigger make it a tack driver with fast follow up shots.

David Elkins

Only thing I don’t like about G22s is they tend to eject spent casings into my forehead. G17s haven’t nor my G45. But the G22s love to plink casings off my dome. Long slide is on my wish list after G43x. Supply though....erg.

David Elkins

This is the golden age of handguns. One might have a slightly better trigger, one might be just a tad fewer ounces. There are a ton of great offerings that compete so closely that individual choice comes down to individual preference. I don’t understand anyone that tells someone else “I can’t understand why you would choose brand X when brand Z is available.” It’s just funny to me.

Steven Salina

What's the music in the closing?

Jeremy doblinger

I need to buy a glock!! My system now is around m&p's and sigs. Want a 19 to edc.currently Iam rocking p365..

Charles Sagaser

I absolutely love my Gen 4 Glock35 MOS. Use it for competition. Put in a threaded Alpha Wolf barrel (which can be a touch picky with ammo) and it kicks ass. Self defense load is the 165 grain Gold Dot loaded by underwood. With my extended mags or the Glock 22 round mags, the thing has a ton of fire power. Also, .40 is way under appreciated as a caliber to suppress. Full Power 180 grain loads are typically subsonic with way more energy than subsonic 9mm and way more capacity than 45.

Alexander Brittain

I'm going to be working on your mom... with that terminology. Doodle goes silent. Haha

Harrison Nobles

Just picked up my gen 4 g40 mos, I'm going to grand Teton next week so I will be better protected now. Thanks for a great review.

Cheesewell

Hard ballers are like the Lincolns and Cadillacs of cars.... or something. Also, .40S&W is one of my all time favorite cartridges, 10mm is cool, till you have to buy some. Triple E: extended, engagement, envelope.

Sean Evans

Thanks for taking the time to comment Tac-D. I appreciate it. I hear what you are saying and from that view point I understand the advantage they have in 3rd party accessories. The Glock rules that domain, there is no doubt. Cheers.
