We'll look at the incredible Scarab II large OTF knife sent in by a donor for review! This thing cost more than a lot of guns. It's come and gone but still fun to see it.  If you can't see spending that kinds of cabbage on a knife, check out my  competitive options shown at the end.  These provide all of the utility and some of the 2nd Cool of the Scarab for sure and feature D2 steel.  Get them while you can!

Also I'll give an announcement for an upcoming special edition TNP knife.

Go big or gone home, knife and price wise lol.

David Gaines

I just can’t get into micro tech. I’m not really an auto fan in general. My only auto is the Boker strike (purchased after the review) and I found it to be...disappointing. Still gonna watch this though, lol

Adam Boyd

Yes! I'm definitely going for my first TNP special edition blade this time!

Jayson Fraser

I've been thinking about getting a cobratec since I saw them at Gunnies. I like my lightning, but would love a better steel (and I'll probably never be able to afford a microtec). There's a lot of hate (elitism) for cobratec on the internet, so it's good to hear an opinion I trust. As a side note, I have that SOG in green and definitely recommend it too.

Lon N

Thanks for the KRV Nutn, and for the "stack your nickels" alert. Kelly gets extra thanks for subjecting his Microtech to an extra 1.2 million cycles of operation.

Nutn please never clean that gorgeous 227! Thank you for getting me into "honest wear". I would love a Cobatec but refuse to buy Chinese. Great KRV.

Nathan P Hubsch

I might get a guardian tactical OTF. But what I'd really want is that TNP Daggerr Sting, my wallet is ready!

Nathan P Hubsch

I just got some Tuf Cloth to coat my blades and my guns. Goes on wet, but you let it air dry and you're good to go. Can be used on blades that are for food prep because it's oil free, try it out Nutnfancy.

Great review. Still lovin' my TNP Dragonfly, it's one of my most carried knives and my favorite of the special edition you've done since you started doing them again. Looking forward to the Sting and all the future TNP Blades. And the TNP Pilot Watch, hint hint.

Robert Avery

Love microtech. Because of you I purchased and carry a halo v and honestly don't mind putting the wear on it.

Patrick Richards

I bought my first Microtech, got the LUDT last month. Very impressed with the quality.

Schmuckatelli

Looking forward to the Ruski Dagger Sting TNP blade. I got one of the blue Stings direct from the manufacturer in Russia based on your review. It took a while to get it, but it was worth the wait. The TNP blade will be epic.

Jardine

Microtechs are sweet!

Mike R

Cool Microtech, but I’m really looking forward to the TNP Daggerr.

Casey Jones

Nutn please review those CobraTech knives. I went to their site and geez, there’s so many awesome looking models to choose from. I’m definitely getting one.

Casey Jones

What was disappointing about your Boker Strike? I bought 2 after the review and I’ve been pretty pleased with mine. I will say the finish on the handle isn’t very good, but my daily user has that cool worn look Nutn talks about. My friend bought one too and he had his handle cerakoted.

Zak Orendorff

If you cut any sticky juicy fruit with your OTF, go ahead and hit that subscribe button!! Sorry man. I couldn’t help it.

Zak Orendorff

Great review nutin. I appreciate all the work you put into these vids. Have for years.

David Gaines

That’s a good question. I loved the look of the knife which is what sold me on it. The bronze blade is excellent and I love OD green. It’s my favorite color. Things I don’t like: I think it’s too heavy. I don’t like the auto action. I feel like it’s awkward to deploy and wants to jump out of my hand with the awkward grip I have to have to push the button. The button is too easy to get to fire so I use the safety. So by the time I pull it out, adjust my grip, take of the safety and deploy it, the knife is way slower than a regular flip. I feel like the handle is unimpressive and feels cheap. I don’t like the pocket clip. I want to like it. I really do. I tried but... I just don’t. It’s like the opposite of second cool for me. I just don’t, lol. I still try and I do carry it from time to time but I would say out of every knife, gun, gear item I have ever purchased, it is the one that disappointed me the most. But, it wasn’t expensive so it’s not a terribly big deal. But it did turn me off to autos.

Kelly McClellan

I’m glad you didn’t beat my knife up so much in this review! I love it too, it’s definitely my favorite Microtech. Also, apparently I got a deal, I got it for $40 cheaper at BHQ.

DuginIN

Nice but I’m good with my 2009 Combat Troodon DE black. Blade HQ restocked the Daggerr Sting, black handle and blade. Just received it. 1st & 2nd cool. Looking forward to the TNP special edition.

Lee Harrell [W5GCF]

I received a Scarab II drop point in ODG as a Christmas gift from my FFL/SOT a couple years ago. I agree, it's fantastic!

Paul Kwiatkowski

I have one of each of the others and would like to have the next special edition, the dragonfly rules, carry it everyday, ser. # 346, the extras you added are worth it, black blade in S35VN steel, good stuff

Nathan P Hubsch

Nutn, you have got to check out the Kershaw Strata 4.5" version, Blade HQ has them, $60! You will love it, especially for the weight of 3.7 ounces!

Super Bob

Asshole Merit Badge…classic nut’n

Phillip Robinette McKracken

I thought I was the only guy to achieve that level. They probably just got an Asshole participation badge.

Jamie Ayers

227- that’s the only item of many that nutn’ loved that didn’t care for. Functioned great. I had to put the sights at high 12 and shoot above target. I tried to swap out the rear sights. Rear sight was really in there. I couldn’t get it out and two gun smith’s could not get it to move. Sold it for $50 less than what I bought it for. Think I just got a one off low shooting pistol.

Tacticaldoodle

I totally forgot they discontinued that thing, until now. I'm wondering if there'll be some chase value in the future, at least. It's a great gun, although to be honest I can't shoot them all that well at all. Nutn seems to have high affinity with them, because he's aces whenever he's got a P series sig.
