Hey Nutn, totally semi unrelated, but while we’re on the topic of weight take a look at the KP15 lower. I’ve put multi thousand rounds through mine and it’s been bullet proof. Sweet video by the way. PSA has been kicking ass on the AK thing, and word is they’re going to manufacture steel case 7.62x39.

FYI y’all We Tried the KR 103 having problems with it. Should have waited for this video. Our gun is shooting two groups. Shots alternate right and left. Tried diff brands ammo, no help. Single fed it gets better but still shoots two alternating poi’s. Weird & disappointing. Build looks great and it wants to shoot but its trash to us.

Thanks Nutn…I love mine. I had to get it in plum…second and first cool all the way. I paid higher prices back a year ago but still worth it. Blem Plum models have been in and out of stock at PSA recently for $650…a very good price IMO. -Sharkey

Wow this was great! I love me some AK's. I don't own a PSA AK, but I do own a PSA AR-9, and that thing is solid. I have two AK's - a M92 Pappy (pistol), and an Arsenal SAM7UF. The underfolder is my baby. Thanks for the AK's Nutn!!! I enjoy all the formats, however I would prefer 60/40 table top/operational.

Bought one, added night sights, vertical front grip, light, sling and foam cheek pad. The gun runs well. The trigger is smooth and not too heavy. The trigger has a ridiculous amount of creep, but maybe that is an ak thing? Anyone try a hiperfire xak trigger? Overall decent, I just want a different trigger for it.

I never scooped an AK when they were cheap, kinda regretted it, but not a huge AK fan so didn't really think twice. This video got me on the I want an AK train now. I've considered many times, this was one of my favorite reviews to forward to anyone saying they were looking to buy a rifle. I always considered the ak to be better value than the AR if your starting from scratch. Cheaper ammo more likely to practice

Is there still a big price advantage with 762 in todays world? I’ll be honest I haven’t shopped. Will the war cause more US and worldwide production to fill the gap of Russian import). Will there be a surge from all the new COVID gun owners to become AK curious? Is AR a GenX thing and AK become Millennial? (Obv Boomers love a M-14 with their 1911)

Ak is still very rare in my part of the Midwest. Right now you can get 762 for same price as steel 223. That's usually not true. Plus it won't be a big deal if they don't clean it after each session. And finally its just such a cool platform anyone who has one tends to get it out more than the AR collectors I know

Just a note on the Hornady SST 7.62x39,, when run through my Yugo SKS the polymer tips get mangled and distorted in the magazine well. I’m not too worried about how it affects accuracy, an SKS isn’t a precision rifle, but the mushed up tip cannot improve either. I have no idea how it holds up in an AK magazine.

7.62x39 HP is devastating, AK's are great hog guns. There is such a thing as match grade AK ammo, got 28/30 hits on a 8" plate at 300 meters. $1.50 per round though.

I started buying AK’s after your/the SGL-21 video posted in 1989!! Ak ammo in 5.45, 7.62 and steel cased 556 was on the shelf’s long after everything else was gone, in my area!!

I wonder if interest in the AK will increase again (like it did in the early 2000s) because of the war in Ukraine? There's a lot of Americans signing up to fight in the Ukrainian International Legion (up to 3000 as of today) and their experiences over in the Ukie mud-pit might influence the gun community over here...

PSA had quite a few out of spec optics rails a while back. If you reach out to them they will totally replace yours for an in spec rail.

Re your thoughts on the cleaning rod. I prefer mine cleaning rod and stock…tool capsule in place as I figure that it’s part of the system. It stays on the gun so it’s always there and I only need to have CLP in my bag.

I'll believe they're there wwhen I see 'em. Reddit is rife, phenomenally filled to the brim with bots, and it's a very effective campaign to make everyone think that they're so gung-ho to fight that they're going to a land they don't speak and work for free for people who don't know them...... So far, lots of bragging and pics of receipts, but so far no pics of them in-theater, at best it's just a dude in front of a fence that we're supposed to believe is ukrainian. It doesn't help that many of the most excited to go are supposedly the same ones that loved lockdowns....so too afraid to go to walmart for 2 years, but getting executed as a partisan is a-okay Good on those that go, but the only ones that hold even a whiff of real event smell are that group of 12 or so SOCOM dudes, and that's because they're likely jacked in to be able to use whatever resources are needed over there but can't get sent over to people that don't know how to use them. A little wink and a nudge kind o' thing - very different from a redditor who's going over because he's unemployed and suicidal

Oh duh I was ranting, the big thing will be if we see some cool custom builds over there, like in 2014 when people saw those supersecret guys and their fully tweaked AK's. So far, we really don't get much, it's weird. Even the paratroopers had iron sights. But hey, maybe wood furniture will come in vogue?

Outrider950: that would be fantastic. If he knows Reese Cullinane, Matt Tilton, or John Cason. They are on an email string we started Jan 3rd. It has pics of targets with diff ammo. I think maybe the chamber is jacked but I’m no gunsmith. Shot show side tracked the convo but I want to get to the bottom of it cause I just know this thing will shoot great when fixed.

I’ll second that list. Just a little better when Nutn bounces things off of TD. I know it’s probably difficult to get together for these videos. Maybe grab another crew member if they can handle the fumes. Patching in TD remotely might also be worth a shot.

A lot about the AK may come back in vogue. I remember seeing American and South African contractors in Iraq sawing off barrels to their AKs and strapping all types of gear to them. No matter what the 5.45x39mm round will be produced in large quantities and prob be making a comeback. It's what both sides are predominately using. Even the 7.62x54R will be commonly used by snipers on both sides.

I’ve looked into many AK options now seeing, finally Nutn testing it , yes I miss TD in the conversations makes it entertaining and two different perspectives on the reviews. Now I’m definitely going to find a PSA AK probably their pistol line of them cuz the small package just says fun 🤩 gun. But with what’s going on over sees depends on what the ammo availability is for me.

I like all the GRV formats about equally! Love this PSA product and its price point. I'm not an AK guy, but my brother is (has polish, russian, romanian, dragunov, etc) and he has a PSA 5.45x39 that's been great. I bought a Zastava MPAP with Hogue furniture for my sole AK. I like the bulged trunion, longer LOP with the hogue stock, and the chrome-lined chamber/barrel. Paid $1080 with tax though (And that was good! been struggling to find one under $1200 pre-tax). At close to $600 with tax maybe I'll have to have two AKs!
