Here's my first high power airgun review. Air gunning was shown 12 years ago in TNP.  Now it's time to get down to business and start reviewing some of the best airguns made. As always I will search out and buy high value guns.

Here's the first: the Air Venturi "Avenger" Precharged Pneumatic. I'll explain what that means. Now if you know airguns you might be fooled by its low price. If you are new to the type, trust me, this Avenger comes in at a very low price point the power and accuracy delivered (shown).

Low entry price is great but if it's crap why bother? I take this plastic stocked Avenger to the desert for several outings. I was immediately impressed. I'll show you its velocity and accuracy...both are very impressive...at any price point. The Avenger is also quiet, more so than even a silenced .22. I should know because I shoot those all the time.

Also I'll show it's adjustability features and discuss how its regulation helps it to be consistent in throwing 14.3 gr Crosman Premier pellets.  Other points also covered like the stock, trigger, side lever charging, scope mounting, and more. Some complain about it but I had no issues whatsoever with it and it gives the gun a remarkable 6 lb 2 oz weight. But for 2nd cool get the wood stocked version, link below.

Overall the AV Avenger is impressive and highly recommended. It may set new value standards for other gun builders.

Love it! Thanks for the review, Nutn!

Dylan Campbell

I love the air gun stuff Nutn. I have two boys that both love to shoot and with cost of ammo like it is….. even .22lr we started air gunning and we still have a blast doing it !

whiskey papa

Just ordered one, thanks Nutn. Yes, used your link. :)

The Nutnfancy Project

Exactly, shooting the airguns is so much cheaper. Before TNP (normal days) I shot my airguns way more than my firearms, even .22s as you note.

Mat

Nutn - pump all the AC you need, I’ll take background noise if it means we get more bunker reviews.

Brad Fegan

Have to admit, pretty neat air rifle. Those groupings speak volumes.

Matthew Sinn

Slightly off topic for this review but I'm curious if you've seen quality differences in CO2 canister brands for the pistols and such that take them? Is Crosman just the easy goto or are there others that may be cheaper in bulk which you'd recommend?

Matthew Sinn

Much appreciated. I’m very much enjoying the P365 BB gun. This is a rabbit hole to fall down for sure. I’m working on an indoor BB trap target now… Thanks Nutn

Nutn, your timing for returning to air rifles couldn't be more perfect. I got 5 grandkids that are having a great time shooting BB guns this summer. Shooting basics and safe handling is all part of their experience. There was a time when Rider and Crossman were a big part of my growing up. Getting your input is so helpful in the next level of shooting "fun guns". We are country folks and the opportunity for pest control never ends. I am really impressed with the Avenger, thanks again for your great reviews.

I bought a Benjamin Armada in 2015... never got around to buying the scuba tank. Hey Nutn', as a diver in the Bay Area, do you have experience with a dive shop somewhere near SF that might fill a tank for me if I bought one? If not, no worries I'll find somebody. I see the tanks are on sale for Labor Day!

The Hide

Youve basically helped make up my mind on one of these lol. Thanks for vid Nutn!!

Caleb Gips

Nutn, approximately how many shots per charge of air were you getting with that gun? Thinking I may need to pick one up.

Dawson Rabb

This will be my next purchase. Thanks Nutn for reminding me of air rifles. I broke out my old nitro piston .177 and been bringing invasive eurasian dove home for dinner. It’s practically free too! Just wish i had a .22 or .25cal.

Downtrodden

I have other system needs at the moment but I thoroughly enjoyed this review. Happy to continue to support this content. I do keep a low powered air rifle in the garage for impromptu matches.

Glad to see the project go down this road. Been shooting pellet guns all my life, but really got into pcp about 6-7 years ago when 22lr was scarce. Nutn if you'd be interested I have a Kalibrgun Cricket in .25 or an AirGun Technology Vulcan 3 in .30 cal. That vulcan will push 54gr slugs @950 fps.

Zac

Loved the vid, and have been curious of the pcp world, so thanks (might have to buy this). My introduction to shooting was through a circa 1960s- early 70s Sheridan .20 cal pump action air rifle. It is still in the family, and I have rebuilt the seals on it for my dad when it had sat for a number of years without compression. I’m not sure if you ever shot one, but they are great. The current production pumpers by Benjamin are ok. I bought one out of nostalgia for the old Sheridan, but the drop in quality is noticeable. It is functional though, and I added a rear William’s peep sight just like my dad’s old Sheridan has. They are lower powered though, and you must be careful where you place your shots on pests.

I'd be interested to see a review of Big Bore/100fpe guns, getting a review from someone not bought/paid-off with a firearms focus would be nice.

The FX PCP Airguns are the pest control weapons of choice in my neighborhood. But I could only justify a Gamo Swarm Maxxim. Because it came with a scope. I had a lot of trouble keeping it zeroed. But had a good time taking out pest birds on my property. My Doberman absolutely loved when I brought it out. Because he got to clean up/fetch the hits and subsequent bird defense network minions out of the air as they tried keep him away. It is quite a sight to see a Doberman running 20+ mph and take a bird out of the air. Only problem when one of my chickens got out it too was a quick casualty. Lent the Maxxim to my neighbor who loved it so much I never got it back. Fair trade for all the other assistance / help with the cows and farm work. Thanks I now have a new and improved option to replace my Maxxim. With Utah Airguns just being up the street from Gunnies I am looking forward to seeing more reviews and recommendations. Hopefully you can work out a loan arrangement with them. Another great Airgun channel is Ted's Holdover. He has some great shooting videos from a few years ago but has not been very active recently.

Love the air gun content. I have been thinking about air guns since my love for them in my younger years. I might pick up a few of these

Michael B warner

YAY!!!!!!! Finally with some legit airgun content these videos should now be known as ARV's. I've been an airgun fan since I was a kid they have always been my preferred squirrel and pest control tool. And of course adding drainage to milk jugs and pop cans lol. I got really heavy into airguns during the whole scamdemic when ammo started evaporating. I couldn't find any 9mm, 40 or 45 anymore but hell I could find pellets at Walmart and meijer. I just went crazy buying up pellets of all kinds every time I went out. My stash of 177 and 22 pellets right now is in the neighborhood of 10 to 15,000 and at least as much in id not more in copper bb's. I have a whole cabinet packed full of airgun ammo 🤪 Anyway I'm really glad that your getting around to adding airgun content to the project. I have never owned a pcp rifle thanks to you this avenge will be my first one. Hope this is the first to many more videos thanks Nutn.

Kyle weyerbacher

This is fantastic, I’ve been burnt out on guns lately and this got my enthusiasm stoked again!

Kyle Zimmerman

I am waiting for some break barrel reviews as I only use an airgun for the occasional pest that makes it into the attic, basement or garage and I can accept a small pellet embedded into some plywood vs a hole in the wrong place.

CincinnatiDan (Ohio)

Really tempting, love the charging handle. Damn those pellets can get pricey, more then 22LR even. Pre-pandemic i was buying 22LR for less than 4.5¢/round... now I am seeing some of the low end stuff come back in the 6¢ range.

The Nutnfancy Project

So glad to hear that Kyle! I just finished my edit on the FX Crown Mk II PCP and I think you'll like it. All commenting here have been shown in the video too. Aiguns are a riot and you will shoot them a lot more!

The Nutnfancy Project

I have some break barrels in for testing now! Some shooting pretty good, one Benjamin shooting really bad

The Nutnfancy Project

.22s will dominate most PCP airguns for sure. If you can shoot a .22 in your location do it. But this Avenger is amazing, super quiet, easily capable of sniping pests and cans to 50 yds for real cheap. The Crosman Premier pellets are inexpensive.

M Herby

Looks like an awesome pcp - definitely on the list of purchases now.

Daniel Ingoglia

Thanks for the air rifle review. This Air Venturi sure looks like a buy. I'm still on my first PCP rifle, the Beeman QB Chief II which a great entry rifle. I'm excited that there seem to be some real quality rifles at an affordable price, the Avenger being one of them.
