I'll start off with observations on the normally overpriced Swiss luxury watch industry. I take a guess at one $5800 watch that I show in an ad and guess right: it is also powered by an ETA 2824 movement...it's just $5300 more than this one.  Then we'll deep dive into this value Swiss watch: a blue chunky Zeno Professional Diver.

Some donors were asking for my input on such value Swiss pieces [esp. dive watches] and here's one. This is a no-kidding Basel Switzerland piece with an ETA 2824 ETA movement. Sapphire, xlnt legibility, turbine milling on bezel, silicone 24mm strap, and lume are shown in detail. Some great non-Swiss competitive options are also shown.

Overall its a handsome, extremely well-made 100% Swiss auto for a decent price...highly rec'd.

Swiss Watch Review: Zeno Pro Diver

Really like these Zeno watches. I like the style of hands and second hand. Not huge on the minute dashes, but doesn't make me not want it. Keep 'em coming Nutn.

Shock test! Haha Hope your toe is ok now The blue zeno looks amazing! Also dunno why buy I love the looks of the Anton fockewulfs. Just has a deadly look to me, excellent ww2 fighter. Not great for 1v1 but do anything in pairs and look out!!

I love the look of diver watches. I will never spend lots of money on one.

I prefer the bezels unlumed because my old fart eyes have lost their up close vision and in the middle of the night the lumed bezel markings make reading the time harder. after running numerous budget automatic watches. I do prefer swiss movements long term (sellita and ETA) over seiko movements. The swiss movements just seem to run better as the watch ages in my experience.

Comparing to a "Deep Blue" brand dive watch...is the Deep Blue a "Seiko movement" vs Swiss movement? 🤔

Downtrodden

Deep Blue does offer a couple models with Swiss movements but they are the more expensive ones. Most of the affordable value divers run an NH35 which is a Seiko workhorse movement.

You can grab a deep blue swiss for $199 on sale sometimes. I have 2 of them and they are really nice.

Thanks for the review Everhard. I hope your toe nail lives to see another day.

Proudly 1 of 77… hard cursing 😂 the “Curse” of the dessert now extends to the wrv… hope the toe is ok!

Love the Swiss rant, Nutn. You are right with the Swiss movement tricks. I love Oris and yes I will buy one at some point, but pound for pound I just bought a Longines HydroConquest for half the price of the new Oris Aquis movement. I am getting a watch from a legendary company with a look and movement I am excited about, can dress it up or down. Oris kills it with the exterior quality and they donate proceeds to cleaning up the ocean, gotta love it. Keep up with the entry level Swiss reviews, there are nothing wrong with these watches. This Zeno is great, but that Spinnaker is AWESOME!

absolutely yes on adding Arabic numerals on dive watch faces.... Love my Kanagawa face deep blue ref. by you..... it is chunky tho for me.., mostly use the bevel on my divers to time the barbecue..... oh looks like fingernail polish on the buckle to me.... ha !

My Marathon GSAR has thrashed its own ETA 2824 over the course of this last decade. The winding stem is not intended for regular winding, and I've had the bezel cleaned and fixed twice (doesn't seem to like fine sand), and currently the mainspring is getting repaired. That's what I get for bringing a dive watch on desert deployments over and over again, I guess.

Ref 14:48 min. Please watch this vid again, possibly several times, encourage your friends and family watch it. I want to see Nutn' jump out of the helicopter!

Hope your toe heals! And the ears of anyone nearby when it happened! Like this watch but I like 40-42mm the best. Still enjoyed the review and looking at some of the other unique models Zeno has.
