IISA Keltec Sub 2K

Comments

Hunter Moronie

Glad to see an updated review of the sub2k! Been verry satisfied with mine as it performed when lives where on the line during a shooting about a year ago where a dirtbag was put in the ground. Thank you for your content and teachings, it has genuinely shaped my entire life. I have been around for 10+ years started with your review of the Marlin 795 and operation red skies!

The Nutnfancy Project

Hello Hunter! You're welcome and thanks for your kind support here...I need it!

Elijah Ballard

My little brother has one. Awesome they can take Glock mags. I wish there was a lefty version. The shells hit me right in the face.

Antwon Harris

I'd run it with a 50 round promag.

Mike

Awesome follow up love this platform. Have a G22 paring this with/ that is a wonderful, lightweight and versatile system. Disappointing truth some one some where will be all over you now that this just one of the perpetrators guns in the Nashville shooting. Keep on making great content we all know people are there perpetuators not the tool.

Todd Strelka

Awesome. My brother has one and he loves it.

Harold Galen McPheron

The Nashville school shooter had a Keltec Sub 2K, sad this fine firearm will now have all the bad press...

Jonathon Hurley

Awesome vid nutn'! I got to try a sub 2k and the very first thing I noticed was that it was a pain to get a good sight picture with the irons! It surprised me because I hadn't really heard anyone talk about that. Maybe you said it in a previous vid, I don't remember but certainly no other review I watch said it. Good on you for pointing that out.

Jordan Parker

Bought my sub2k based on your initial review, and still love it. Thanks Nutn!

Gilbert Cuzdey Jr

I want to put the griffin armament micro carry comp on mine. For me, the sub 2k makes the most sense with no optic so I can take maximum advantage of the folding feature.

Justin Golden

I think we all know what the verdict will be on this one, even if you didn't watch the Ruger LC Carbine review.

Matt Baril

MCARBO sells a shell deflector and it works well

Jordan Parker

And such a great conversation about competitive options and which you would pick for various situations. Love it!

Patrick Brichta

Great update! Thanks Nutn, still love both of mine, gen 1 and gen2. Serving proudly as my road trip gun. Only have to bring it and my g26 ccw when on trips. Ammo and mag compatability make a lot of sense.

Barron Haake

Gen 2 with a Red Lion rotating forend so i can have optic on top but still rotate and fold. Irons are completely removed, i never could use them. MCarbo trigger and springs, so awesome.

Rick Grad

They had a really good promo $100 off. So you could get one for $300. Bought one years ago from the table top review. Everyone who has ever shot mine it loves it. Thanks for the follow up!

RECALL

That right there… at the 3 minute mark… for guys like me who never were convinced to get one of these before (poor college student who got an AR instead of this) these IISA videos are the perfect recap for todays market! I still don’t have one yet, too many other things competing for $$ and storage space (and wife approval…most important!). Keep up these IISA vids, I like how you don’t rehack what’s already been said in your prior reviews but instead touch up on it briefly!

Hold Fast Joe

Really fun review! I actually see the sub2k at the range occasionally and they run great!

Paul Griech

Nutnfancy are you watching me search for information i am currently in the process of procuring a kel tec sub 2k G19 variant!!!!

Mark Horan

I bet a lot of us thought the competitive option was going to be a M&P FPC, not realizing this was filmed in the recent past. Thanks for the "Is it still good' series. The integrally Suppressed KELTEC SUB2000 has a rotating hand guard that moves the red dot out of the way. I am surprised Keltec has not come out with the rotating handguard without the integrated suppressor. I suppose the cost would go up though, defeating the inexpensive price.

Matthew Sinn

Only for those who place blame on the tool. It's a really weird psychology.

Matthew Sinn

I hope your KT R50 / P50 SBR review compares to the Sub 2K. Obviously ammo cost is a no brainer. But other factors are more interesting to discuss.

Bluegill097

I find it interesting that neither of you put the folding capability high on your list, yet for me that is definitely the number one. I just wish my Gen 1 had a threaded barrel then she’d be perfect

Risky Chrisky

Any nutnfancy video with a sub2k is worth watching

BadgerTails

No way! Joe Biden said it was done with (2) AK-47s and a pistol?!

BadgerTails

At 100 yds with the open sights, I was breaking mine in with pie plate size groups. ETS happy sticks, I got the G15 model for being able to use the shorter mags as well. Run it wetter the better with synthetic gear lube for the juice! DRIVE ON! Love it! THIS is why I upped my SUb payment beyond where I started....GO!!!

Andrettski

I have almost every MCARBO mod on mine, worth it to me. Missouri Tactical Products makes a really good butt pad for them(www.motacpro.com) Kel-Tec also makes a navy blue version. HD weapon for me is still my CX4 STORM sitting next to my 12 gauge pump

Andrettski

I'm PRAYING for Canik to break into the PCC market, I wonder if Sean agrees?

Bernal

I have the Gen 2 that takes GL19 mags. I installed all the MCARBO upgrades. Love it! I’m not interested in any optics for it. I carry a P365 all the time, no optics there either. However, if we were to go WORL a truck gun would be necessary. In WORL I think my trunk skateboard paired with my Sub2000 would be my selection. Shoot - move - asses with binoculars - hoodie sweatshirt ( so I can change colors and blend in)…

Joseph

SIG mpx or nothing

Matthew Larson

Fantastic PCC. My FIL and I love ours. I knew the answer "IISA?" even when reading the title, but it's great to revisit solid options like this one to see how it stacks against more current market options.

Richard Leonard

And, the S2K will fit in a HD touring model saddlebag.

BadgerTails

Kel-Tec: when do we get the .45 or 50AE versions?

MCatl

Another great video and I really like the IISA context. What gets me is not the people who conclude something is no longer worth buying but suddenly decide that because something newer is on the market that what they already own suddenly needs to be ditched. Maybe, but only if it was a poor choice to begin with. Otherwise, it's subscribing to the fallacy that capability is purchased rather than developed.

Onewizeguy

How much weight did you you pick up with that red lion handguard?

Barron Haake

I don’t think i weighed before and after, but it never seemed like it weighed much. Plus 3 or 4 oz’s maybe.

Henry Mattson

Marlin 795 was my first one too ha

BadgerTails

Neighbor JUST told me my SUB2Ks are worthless, as the guys at LGS told him they're junk compared to the CMMGs. I looked at him and simply said "...profit margins matter to sales people, get it?" Remember folks, many of the guys behind the counter @ LGS do NOT have your best interests in mind!

Daynon Gardner

Hi Nutn. Something Sean might consider for his red dot mount is the Midwest Industries T1/T2 mini optic mount. I’ve used them on a sub2k and they allow you to store the firearm folded and still retain zero with no mods to the gun. They are still relatively affordable as well.

Cheesewell

Awesome sauce video my dude 👌 Sub 2K been on my list for awhile. Gonna have to get one, just been rocking the Camp 45 for years.

Seeker Keyl

I totally agree with the home defense situation re: 556 vs 9mm. Without a can the blast would be a major downside for me as a defender (my widdle ears are very sensitive; no thank you hearing damage). With a can, that maybe a different story but I do not have one at this time. I'd much rather deal with a 9mm pcc.

Paul Kwiatkowski

Hey, where is the …more… and the links? The missing links..haha

MCatl

They're part of an evolving discussion...

Scott Dunn

Exactly what I was going to say. G26 with my G19 mags plus the Sub2K is perfect on trips-Plus maybe a Ruger LCP2. Sub2K gen2 has been 100% reliable. I find the iron sights are just fine actually.
