ENGLISH/ESPAÑOL
Hello everybunny! We're starting 2025 with lots of energy and excited to bring you new projects 💜
First of all, we have already started working on the beetles. You know that we usually start with the head pattern, but since this plush is almost all body and the heads will be different, we wanted to start with the body base first. And luckily the first test was already almost perfect! Look at this cute coffee bean. Apart from changing the bottom curve a bit, we have the base ready for adding all the limbs :DWe've made a quick sketch to help imagine how it will look, and it's already looking great~
Apart from the beetles, we have been working on two other commissions. One of them is a secret project, so we can't show it yet. But we can show the second one! In this case, it was a comission for a Nintendo character, that the customer decided to change for a 101 Dalmatians OC when everything happened. It's an adorable and shy kitty. The customer wanted us to use our beanie base. The character is a bit thin and has a big head, so we modified the beanie proportions a bit to make it more similar to the character's proportions. The body didn't give us much trouble. Base pattern, with a fun shaped tail, some color blocking and the most remarkable thing would be the two scars on her right arm, which we embroidered.
The problem came with the head. We wanted to make it bigger and make the muzzle more prominent than the base head (Slunny and rabbits), so we did some pattern tests. The first muzzles were too long, more fox like, but at the end we got the muzzle shape we were looking for ^^For the face expression, the customer wanted her with a nervous/shy smile, so we designed the embroidery with that in mind. We didn't expect she would turn out SO adorable! Look at her face <3 It makes us want to hug her.
We also made the custom ears and the collar. For it, we used a heart shaped bead and yellow ribbon.
With that, the plush would be finished, but we felt something was off. Then we realised that she was missing her whiskers. We could have made them embroidered like with Hamtaro, but the references showed they were very long and popping out of her face. It was an important detail, and we came up with an idea. What if we gave her real whiskers? We hadn't made them before, but it's possible since many mass produced plushies have them.We did some research, discussed our ideas and finally decided to get some black fishing line for them.
It was difficult to work with this material, because it curled and we couldn't get it to have a more natural shape. It was also hard to put them on. At the end we had to completely unstuff the head to put the whiskers on hahaha. But after a couple attempts, we managed to put them on and we're so proud of the result!! The whiskers give a lot of life to the character, don't you think? We hope her owner also loves them!
If you would like to know how to put whiskers on plushies, we could make a video/class explaining how we did them. It's not that difficult once you know how to do it, but you have to keep some things in mind.
Honestly, it's been great to use the beanie pattern for an OC. We like to reuse old patterns as bases to customize for unique projects. In fact, we want to make a furry/anthro body base in the near future and use it to make custom plushies with it 👀~~ It's a personal project we have for this year.
Would you like to commission us your character or fursona if we made that base? We want to know your opinion 😃

Hello everybunny!
