Here’s a fun approach I’ve been using with the built-in Euclidean sequencer on the Digitakt, Digitone, Syntakt, and Analog Rytm. With this method, I can generate melodies in scale, polyphonically, across all machines while still keeping a strong sense of control over the results.
For me, it’s one of those techniques that always sparks ideas. It’s quick, it’s musical, and it reliably gets a track moving when I’m staring at an empty pattern. The best part is that it balances randomness with direction, so you get evolving melodies that still feel intentional.
Give it a try on your own setup and let me know how it goes — I’d love to hear what kind of grooves you get out of it!
Best,
Matt
