Comments

Joseph Corso

Yes Sir!!’ Did it again…thank you Alex

John Petitt

Looking forward to this!

Marty Wisott

Sound amazing! I mean when doesn't but still. I love the "motific" development, the use of double stops, the way the solo build in intensity, and the variety and sameness playing through three choruses. Also, it feels readily accessible.

Tony Davies

Love it, right up my street, looking forward to Saturday 🎸🎸

Shmookie

Oh wow!! More of this please!! Cannot wait!!

Alex Farran Guitar

Haha yes, maybe too short notice to grow the beard out eh?! 🧔🏻😂 Man, funnily enough that’s the first Junior Watson vid I ever saw and still a favourite!.. and who else but Larry Taylor (of Tom Waits fame) on double bass 👌🏻

Matthew Wimberger

Can’t wait to dig in. I’m not sure my brain can retain all the info in all the lessons, but everything I do retain is like gold. Keep it coming.

Alex Farran Guitar

Thanks Matthew, I totally get that. And yes indeed, even if you gleam one useful thing from a lesson, that’s huge progress! 👌🏻

Rob Bright

Perfect blues. Adore it 👍Great feel.

Joseph Desteiguer

Jump blues is my favorite! It was the preferred genre in the honky tonks of Texas and Louisiana. Thanks!

Kenton

Alex, you are layin' it down. Dude, I like the extended versions, keep it rolling. Excellent jump blues.

Henrik Hermann

Thanks man. Exactly what I was thinking.

Alex Farran Guitar

Oh man, that's cool. Certainly one of my favourite blues styles too!

Brian Johnson

excellent! on your 50s vintage strat, do you prefer its 56mm string spacing or the more modern 52? do you have issues with string drop off higher up the fret? cheers!

Alex Farran Guitar

Hi Brian, honestly I never even thought about it.. your saying my Strat is wider string spacing than the modern ones? I've not experienced any negative aspect of it at all. Very comfortable 👌🏻

Brian Johnson

hi, alex. the early fenders had that wider spacing at the bridge. it apparently was leo fenders idea. my main electric for the past 25 years has been a AVRI 62 strat with the 7.25 radius and 56mm spacing. i recently picked up a 60s custom vibe jazzmaster with the more modern 9.5 and 52 spacing. i definitely noticed a difference and had to get used to it. however, you own a lot of different guitars so switching between them is probably nothing for you now. probably best to just forget i mentioned it:). cheers!,

Dave Mason

love that sound. Hope its not do difficult to play

Alex Farran Guitar

Thanks Dave. I'm sure you can manage it.. just work it one phrase at a time and focus on accuracy and timing over speed ;)

Dave Mattingly

Hey Alex, been here less than a month but have already picked up so much. Thanks.

CanuckFinn

The title "The Selby Hop" is cool. Is it something you just nonchalantly pulled out of the hat, or, does it actually refer to something?

Alex Farran Guitar

Glad you like it! It’s actually the name of the my street!.. The Selby part, not the hop 😉

CanuckFinn

Thanks, very neat. Your arrangement & playing are awesome! Your CS Strat looks and sounds beautiful.
