Hello Alex, congratulations on completing your signature pickups with SunBear. So that was the reason why your Tele was always seen without a pickguard…. I'm still struggling with a decision for it or against. Of course I'm a Telecaster player, of course I'm always looking for the perfect sound - but I also know that these pickups don't make me a better player. New hardware is always exciting and it always brings expectation, sometimes this expectation is rewarded greatly... But: the guy on the fretboard remains the same - unfortunately good or even very good pickups won't make me a better player... What is much more important for me and my future path as a guitarist is that I found you in the vastness of the Internet. There are a few gems out there, but you really top them all... Maybe I'll turn away from the pickups for a moment and pay you homage, because I think that's very appropriate:: Of course your lessons are very demanding, of course it's all very complex and far too difficult for me to recreate - but I recognize in every lesson your ability to bring your skills to us normal players. Your calm way of explaining, your ability to perform in so many different styles are awesome, unmatched. As soon as I've seen a lesson 5, 6, 7 times to halfway understand it, the week is already over and there's a new lesson - this time in a completely different genre and just as captivating. Back to the Sun Bears…. After two days I decided to postpone the purchase until I can play a few of your lessons really well, and then I'll treat myself to the pickups too. All the best Bernd

Hi Andy, any of my videos featuring the Fender telecaster (not the Nacho) will have some iteration of these pickups.. we've been through a handful of gradually refined prototypes over the last 12 months. Very soon you will see a lot of videos coming out featuring the final iteration.

Hey Alex. My Farran pickups arrived today. Quick question-are the pole pieces on the bridge pickup supposed to sit high off the top of the pickup bobbin? In the promo picture, they seem pretty flush with the bobbin. Was just surprised about this since it looks more like a Strat pickup in the way that the pole pieces are so proud of the bobbin. Thanks!

I did-thanks. I’ve got the pickups installed and they’ve already moved to my top spot! My other flat pole tele bridge pickups sound almost too dark in comparison now haha
